Agreed, but I think Joe's concern is that it hurts him unnecessarily in the Media and thus a segment of the population that believes the Media, so could potentially hurt his chances for re-elections. It is a valid concern, but that's the other side of the coin you get when you elect someone like Trump. Hard to get both in the same package.

Another aspect of Trump is that he gets everything all out there. Nothing is untouched. He is the most transparent President in history. And his willingness to call shit out is causing a tsunami of honesty and citizenry speaking up to leaders throughout the world, from Brexit to Hong Kong and Iran. He points out the failures of past administrations to address the inner cities, unemployment, bad trade deals, etc. so even Latinos and Blacks are waking up.
Not saying he’s perfect, but he’s what the world needs now.

I agree with just about everything everyone has said here. I am 100% in favor of him tweeting although I don't use Twitter. I am glad when he calls a spade a spade. I love that he fights back and that he is defending America from both our enemies AND our so-called friends.
But I still think if he had just a little bit of a filter between his brain and his mouth, he could be much more effective. Maybe Steingar is right; people DO defend Trump, even on the few times he is actually wrong.

You just hit on another reason the progressive media hate Trump so much, he fights back. They have never had a president take them on, and get away with it. The media operates like the playground bully, they hide behind the first amendment and use that to defame and slander/libel whoever they feel, including the President.

If you want to be offended that he is portraying a human rights violator as a close friend, that's understandable, but the "love" aspect here is clear metaphor and demonstrates yet again that Trump is tuned in to ordinary people and not putting on elitist airs.
If you are offended that he's developing a good relationship with Jong-Un, what's your alternative? Do you prefer no communication at all and continued hostilities? Isn't it a good thing that he's opening up dialogue? After having made clear the U.S. position of greater power? (As opposed to Democrats who cozy up to enemies and give them money.)

What he is forgetting here is that we are all presumed innocent until proven guilty, and plenty of innocent people are arrested. But even if I have no sympathy for a guilty person being treated roughly, I don’t think Trump helped himself making these comments. The same with his endorsement of civil asset forfeiture. I think he was trying to get the law enforcement community on his side and maybe he knew what he was doing. There are plenty of Democrat sheriffs and police officers. So possibly it helped him among them but it’s not going to help him among blacks and that’s a demographic we absolutely need to change.
Law enforcement departments have become dependent on civil asset forfeiture as a source of funding and that’s a serious problem. If we fix that they will have to get funding elsewhere and that probably means higher taxes. But here’s the thing: it is disproportionately lower classes that suffer from civil asset forfeiture, but replacing the income stream with taxes will shift that burden to middle and upper classes which is as it should be but might be what’s stopping this from being fixed. If you say it’s the lower classes that commit the most crimes so they should pay, no, not all of them are criminals and the innocent among them are being abused. We can keep criminal asset forfeiture. But civil is literally just highway robbery.
One of the complaints of the left is that wealth tends to flow upward, and they are correct about that although they are wrong about the solution. In all economic systems money tends to accumulate with a small number of people at the top, but in free market capitalism things remain fluid and the people at the bottom have a better chance to improve their lot. The problem is that in all systems, those with the authority to use sanctioned force are always the winners. This is why, in a free market system, government is used to manipulate the system to your advantage. In socialism and communism, the government is the de facto controller and no manipulation is needed. Both systems are unfair to the poor but only the free market system has a chance to regulate the unfairness.
Those who understand nature know there is no such thing as a “fair” system. But we have figured out that the best system overall, bringing the most benefits to the greatest number of people, is freedom. How terribly sad there are so many in this country who have forgotten this.

Why do things like the “Love” thing or the wind turbine thing bother you? So he uses absurdity. So he boasts. So what? Only one perfect person has walked this earth, so Trump is in good company with the rest of us sinners.
About defending him, let’s be clear. If he advocated a position contrary to the Constitution, or contrary to a fundamental conservative position, he will get my scorn. He would be wrong.

Levine had Tom Cotton on tonight of Fox, it was a good show. One thing Cotton mentioned was how many previous Presidents promised to move the Embassy in Israel, yet Trump actually carried through on it even though people said how horrible it would be and the mess it would create.
Concerning the Articles of Impeachment, one of them is Obstruction of Congress. I don't believe Congress truly has the authority to investigate the President. If so, the President has just as much right to investigate them. They say obstruction because folks wouldn't respond to subpoenas. Notice, the only recourse the House would have is to take it to court. That they don't have an enforcement method, means they don't have the authority to hand them out.
I may not have explained that very clearly. Go listen to the first hour of today’s Monica Perez show. She's on WSB in Atlanta. Not sure when the podcast of the show gets posted.

I think Eppy hit on it here. We can't change who Trump is and nor do we want to change him. The occasional Tweet, or statement that we think is immature, or too harsh is worth his personality which GETS THINGS DONE that are positive.
That being said. I have no problem with people questioning Trump's judgment when he does this. I don't consider it whining, but maybe it is wishful thinking that he is going to change anytime soon. When Trump needs to be "Presidential" sounding he is just that. Then the Media accuses him of "just reading from a script" which is probably true, but so what? They all read from teleprompters. There is no such thing as "obstruction of congress". Had congress really wanted something, they have the judicial branch (courts) in which to seek relief. They rejected this because it didn't meet their timeline.
Congress could have also requested a Special Counsel to investigate, however they also rejected that because they would have to request that through Attorney General, and the request would have been rejected.
Pelosi, Schiff and Nadler have created a clown show of epic proportions and the country will pay the price. And a dangerous precedent has now been set to use impeachment as a means to attempt to overturn elections, something the founders did not want to see happen.

I'm not about to turn my back on him because he occasionally says some stupid shit. I just wish he wouldn't say that stupid shit. If I have to accept listening to that stupid shit, and listening to my in-laws repeating it over and over, it is worth it to get the tax cuts, the regulation rollbacks, the China trade agreement, the USMCA agreement etc.
But just because I don't like some things he says, our local troll says I must love everything Hillary Clinton says. I love Trump. (That is entirely different than saying I fell in love with him). I believe his winning the Presidency is the most important thing that happened to our country in many decades. Before he was elected, I felt our country was doomed to repeat the socialist mistakes of other countries.. But now I have hope for this country. But I still wish he wouldn't stupid shit and give the libs so much ammunition so often.

I agree, Joe, that it gets tiresome hearing the libs repeat his boo-boo statements. My reply is that he does a lot and says a lot, and is constantly on the move on behalf of America and Americans.
Hell, if he said 1/100th of what he says now, the left would STILL latch onto every utterance and spin it. He knows that, so he gives them a lot to sift through and then deluges them with more, drowning out the last statement that twisted their panties.

I wish Trump would attack the spending problem more. Not sure why he chooses not to battle the spending at this point in time. We, as a country, cannot sustain the current level of spending.
I also don't like that he chose Wray as his FBI Chief. Not sure who made that suggestion, but I believe a little searching would have turned him up as a swamp rat. So far, it appears that Barr was an excellent choice and I hope he pays dividends. Sooner rather than later would be good, I hope the delay is to make sure they have air tight cases and not playing politics for an October surprise kind of thing.

The spending problem needs the support of congress, which he doesn’t have. The congress of 2016-2018 was run by a RINO, with no help there. Get a republican led congress back and spending can be addressed.
Wray was a huge mistake. His time will come, but not until after the election, or possibly at the conclusion of the Durham Investigation.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out when Trump says stupid stuff and/or when he is wrong on policy or actions. I don't think anyone here, except the usual subjects, certainly not Joe, is either an advocate for Hillary, or a Trump hater.
