In that era I remember listening to NPR every morning before work while shaving, ironing and getting ready. Then I realized they were Far Left, and started listening to Rush. Everything then made sense.

Lung cancer got both of my parents. They were big smokers back in the day, two packs of Pall Mall reds each per day. I'll be damned lucky not to develop lung cancer just from all the second hand smoke I inhaled as a kid.

I was telling my husband last night what a loss this will be if he doesn’t make it (and really... advanced lung? 5 year survival rate for stage 4 LC is 5%). There is no replacement. He is in a class of his own.
I’m gently trying to urge my on the fence young relatives to listen to conservative talk radio but if they are left with Beck and Hannity- they are good, but come across much more hostile than Rush does and I’m not sure can lure them into the light.
Hubby says somebody else will step up and replace him. With what Tucker says here I’m not so sure. This will be a devastating loss.

There is, currently, no replacement for Rush. His level of analysis is beyond anyone that currently exists. He has a great sense of what is happening and what it means.

I like Mark Steyn a lot, who as you know often subs for Rush. I think he is really good, and would be a good, full time replacement. I do hope Rush beats the illness and stays on the air though.

Agree about Steyn and some other radio personalities like Walter Williams I can listen to but no one is Rush’s level.

Hannity doesn’t shut up and let people talk. Beck is so melodramatic and not funny. Mark Levin’s anger is fatiguing (though I really like him, I can’t listen to his show for long). Mark Steyn is great, but some people tell me they don’t get his humor. I like him a lot. Same people also never got Monty Python.
A replacement doesn’t exist.

^^^^^^I agree, there is no real replacement for Rush. He just gets it, and due to his age, and long career he REMEMBERS a lot of stuff which has happened in the past, and his recollections are accurate. It is good to be reminded of the history, especially what the Democrats have pulled in the past.
I like Tucker Carlson, and Greg Gutfeld a lot as well as the aforementioned Mark Steyn. They can't replace Rush though. I get tired of Hannity, and agree that Mark Levin is smart, but his anger gets grating.

But we’d like to know why you despise what he stands for. My guess is that you have no idea what he stands for.
I will say it’s probably something that he got a Medal of Freedom for, and a standing ovation in Congress. So if you despise that “something” that Rush Limbaugh stands for, we all must be on the right track to praise him.

LOL! It’s henna. I’ve developed an allergy to store bought chemical hair dye so I’ve switched to henna which is basically pulverized vegetable matter that when wet stains things, including grey hair. To get my hair brown I have to do two sessions of four hours each. First session henna alone and second session henna mixed with indigo. You mix up the stuff and it has the exact color and consistency of soft mud, or soft poop actually. (The directions suggest “yogurt”.) You pile it onto your head, then wrap head in Saran Wrap and top with a shower cap. Leave on for up to 4 hours. It’s extremely messy and I can’t wear my hearing aids while the stuff is on my head and I’m so deaf I can’t listen to radio without the hearing aids.
