Title: Oil Tanks - Who Benefits?
Post by: Number7 on March 09, 2020, 07:00:15 AM
So, Russia is in a snit because Putin’s buddy owns a YUGGGE (huge for snowflakes) oil company doing business with and propping up  Venezuelan dictator Madura.

Russia walks away from a price control (price fixing) scheme with Saudi Arable and oil futures tank around 30%.

Demand is already off because people have fallen for the  MSDNC scam about the wuhan. Iris and are staying home moots or folks playing the market are getting hurt today.

Which brings me to my question:  who benefits besides the corrupt democrat party using this to attack the President?

The Democrats and the Media (same thing) have wanted to get us into a recession for several months in order to hurt Trump's reelection chances.  That is why they are hyping the Virus so much.

I think they started about six months too soon.  The sheep have VERY short memories.  This will all be over and we'll have recovered lost ground plus gaining new ground by the time the election rolls around.

I wonder if Bernie and Biden are looking for a place to hide... poor health and old.  Not good.

Always remember, when the media is running a "crisis story", start paying attention and look behind the scenes for the real story.

The liberal controlled media runs the narrative as well as misinformation to hide the real news.

Maybe this will backfire completely just like everything else they try to do to destroy Trump, and only make him all the more popular.

All of this is designed to topple the economy.  Fear mongering.

I remember when dems were bragging that Obama got gas down to $2.85/gallon. They are too stupid to understand economics.

The average U.S. gasoline price was well over $4/gallon at one point during Obama's reign of economic malaise and for a pretty long period.  This hurts the working poor the most, but Obama's view was that it was a good thing as it would reduce demand and hence emissions.  Classic Democrat economic IDIOCY.

Actually, I think the Saudi move might be intended to assist Trump in his reelection.  He has been very supportive of the Crown Prince, and I'm certain they want to keep him in place.  And they know cheap energy prices always drive the American economy, always have.  The Saudis aren't stupid, they know this.

I suppose it's possible that their only motivation is to compete with the American Energy generation industry, and they're doing it in a vacuum.  It's just difficult to believe that folks in such responsible positions could function in such a myopic way.

Cheap energy prices drives the economies across this globe.  But if people want to think that it's all about the USA, go right ahead.

Yep.  The world runs on fossil fuel, not wind and solar.  Trump's energy policies have made the U.S. less reliant on foreign oil.  However, we are still tied to world energy markets so supply interruption or an increase in foreign supply effects our energy prices in the U.S.  Just like with any other commodity.

Do you think other energy producing countries like Saudi, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela, Iran, etc like Trump's energy policies which create more U.S. supply and help keep world oil prices low?  They dislike Trump, especially Russia who is almost solely dependent on their energy revenue.

Only 10% of Saudi exports ($17.3B) go to the US. China is 17%, Japan is 15%, India is 11%, and South Korea is 10%.

But sure, go ahead and think it’s all about Trump.

Actually Rush Limbaugh just pretty much said what you just said, except not that it was a conscious intent of the Saudis with respect to Trump.  Cheap energy prices are going to be really good for the American consumer, and in a few months after the coronavirus dies down, the economy is going to recover at record rates, well before the election.  The Saudi move is more about targeting Russia, competing with them and other producers more than America.

But I get the meaning of your statement "I suppose it's possible"... meaning, possible but not likely if I read you right.

The news articles I read this weekend say that Putin wanted to put U.S. frackers and shale oil producers out of business as a way to punish the U.S. for its sanctions against Russia.

If Putin wants to put U.S. frackers and shale oil out of business, all he has to do is help our Democrat candidates get elected.

That's why to anyone with a brain, the Russia/Putin helping Trump narrative is ridiculous.  Trump's Energy policy alone hurts Russia, and in a big way.  The Russians would love to see Democrats in power that would ban Fracking, and also reduce where oil companies can drill in the U.S.  That would lessen our supply, and increase world oil and energy prices.  Russia would benefit greatly.

well, it's really quite simple.  It's just misdirection.

yeah, that's what it is.

Yet, Dem voters continue to elect the very people who give them the shaft. Unbelievable.
