Title: This is What Tyranny Looks Like
Post by: nddons on March 13, 2020, 01:07:40 PM
The mayor of shit hole Champaign Illinois is using this corona virus to make a tyrannical power grab.

“Included in the executive order are ordinances that would give the city extraordinary powers to the Mayor.

Violating parts of the Open Meetings Act
Ban sale of firearms and ammunition
Ban sale of any alcohol
Closing of all bars, taverns, liquor stores, etc
Ban sale or giving away of gasoline or other liquid flammable or combustible products in any container other than a gasoline tank permanently fixed to a motor vehicle
Direct the shutoff of power, water, gas, etc
Take possession of private property and obtain full title to same
Prohibit or restrict ingress and egress to and from the City

These effing power hungry Communists use anything they can to steal power and stick it to the law abiding citizen.  NOTHING they do effects the criminal, but only effects the law abiding.

Yet, they plea down gun charges of Felons whom are already prohibited from touching a firearm, and they are back on the street to commit more violent crime, often with guns.

Shows up with the police and "I am now owner of your house and all its contents.  You have 10 minutes to vacate."

There is no way that's legal or constitutional.

If only the city limits were only larger! In fact, a quick perusal shows this:
"Suspend or limit burning of any items or property with the City limits and up to two  (2) miles outside the corporate limits."

It is good to be Queen!

Banning sale of alcohol is deadly. Full blown alcoholics CANNOT do cold turkey withdrawal. They risk fatal seizures.

Restricting firearms CAUSES crime in a disaster, Katrina proved that unequivocally.

Taking TITLE to property??? Not just temporary use? What the fuck? How is that at all constitutional? Wait, we already do it with civil asset forfeiture...

Have a crime committed somewhere near your property, but not even on it?  It can be seized by the City because it is part of the crime investigation and MAY have been used in the crime.  No proof, no Due Process required.  Total Government abuse and tyranny.   What happens to these properties?  They get sold by the city at auction.  Chaching!

And this is why the 2nd Amendment is so important.

Listen to them trying to equivocate: “Hold on, we’re not banning sale of firearms or carrying around gas in a can, we simply published a reminder that we could do those things whenever we want. These things have been on the books since 2006.”

Oh well then I guess that makes it okay. That you sneaked this stuff onto the books in 2006 when nobody was paying attention.

“We’re not making a power grab. We’re just saying we laid the groundwork for it years ago. And you shouldn’t be surprised when we do implement it.”

I don’t know if that link works for you, it’s a Fox News story easy to find, unless you try to look on CNN maybe.
