otoh - the CDC said 8 weeks, I think that was early March.
In any case, maybe people will finally figure out that COVID-19 is more like the flu than like Ebola.

By then 1/2 to 2/3 of American families will be defaulting on some of their bills. Most people don't have three weeks of rainy day funds let alone the recommended 6 months...
All for something that so far has killed 2% of what the seasonal flu has killed...

I hear liberals everywhere asking what planet Trump is from if he thinks this will all be over by Easter. They just get mad when I ask them if they don't hope it is over by then too? WTF is wrong with hoping this ends sooner rather than later?

Absolutely nothing with wanting this to end.
But, if I may, a word of caution: let's not think that come Easter that there will be no more cases or deaths due to COVID-19. If that is the defintion of "ends", then we are most likely going to be disappointed.

There is ends and there is ends. During H1N1 how many of us even thought about it at all during a normal day? Life went on as usual.
We want this economic death spiral to end. The course of covid19 will definitely not end by Easter but the public, at least the smart ones, care much more about the former.

well, the smart ones should be able to recognize that COVID-19 is not Ebola. It's basically the flu (just a different coronavirus). It spreads like the flu, it causes the same symptoms as the flu (with the addition of panic/fear/chaos), and it has about the same fatality rate as the flu.

This gives us a horrifying idea of what would happen if we had a REAL plague. Too many people willing to destroy the economy over a regular flu would be willing to kill their own mothers over a roll of TP in an actual real plague.

It's nothing new that people play topper with COVID-19 "protection"... definitely a misaaplication of the mythbuster creed (if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing)
The CDC first said no gatherings over 250, then we saw politicians saying 50, then 25, then 10. Last night I was in a teleconference with people who were so panicked that they wanted the limit to be zero.
I suppose next there will be scumbags that don't think 2 months will long enough... it'll be 3 months, then 6 months. And then we'll be in the next flu season (which will be ignored by these cowards)

In my sister's county they have just announced lockdown, and they announced LEO will actively patrol and stop cars, and ask people where they are going. They will only be allowed to go to grocery stores, if the officer thinks you aren't going to the grocery store they will make you turn around and go back. That's what she told me she heard on the news.
