Title: Next Hoax?
Post by: Lucifer on May 18, 2020, 05:56:44 PM
So as more states are opening, and as judges are now throwing out lockdown orders (Oregon fell today) we will see business pick up and people get back to work, much to the dismay of the progressives.   As of today, the dems are full speed ahead trying to get the supreme court to give them the grand jury transcripts from Mueller so they can prepare new articles of impeachment.

So what's the next hoax?  What will the dems and their progressive handlers cook up next?

Currently, some Democrats and the Media are talking about a second and third wave of the CHINESE virus.  That means continue or escalating LOCK DOWNS.  In fact the resident CNN, NBC, New York Times parrot, Steingar, indicated that they Fall would be really bad.  That is the LEFT'S contention as they want to extend this shutdown for another four or five months, bringing the total to at least a full six to seven months or more.   It is just another Media/Democrat driven Doom and Gloom LIE.

The lockdown zealots should be careful what they ask for...

Consider where the hotspots are.

Think about how those hotspots get food and other actual essentials.

What if the hotspots are put in a hard quarantine?

Consider where the hotspots are.

Consider what way the hot spots vote.  Not a good idea to piss of your base voting block.

I now hear that many School Districts, Colleges and Universities will NOT be opening in the Fall.  If that is the case, those Schools, and Universities need to LAY OFF ALL STAFF and only keep a very minimal, low cost presence to keep the facilities in a moth ball state.   I will be contacting my School District which I help FUND with that recommendation with a follow up letter to the District Superintendent copying my Local and State representatives.

Teachers - LAID OFF
Administrators - LAID OFF
Professors, including tenured professors - LAID OFF
All STAFF - LAID OFF (except for skeleton facilities management crew)

Don't forget that online courses are an option (albeit with their own set of problems)

I've read where on line courses are often not working for school kids due to lack of supervision, motivation and distractions.  Also, how can you monitor "cheating" and properly grade.  I think it works much better on the college and grad school levels where you don't need hands on access.   The Steingars of the world are easily replaceable as are big college brick and mortar TUITIONS.  The scam is being unraveled as we speak.  It has been too long coming.

not so fast, as much as you dislike colleges and other such self-serving places, there are sciences that simply can't be learned only through online resources.  Material sciences, biology, physics (anyone up for high-energy physics in their basement?), etc etc.

Did you miss the part where I said except for the need for "hands on access"?  My Chemistry Labs, and Zoology courses and others could not be done on line as it is hard to do perform actual experiments or dissect rats and cats online.

I missed that too and it occurs to me that the English language grants that sentence could have two different meanings. Either, “the ones that don’t need hands on access,” or, “all college and grad school levels don’t need hands on access.” Ah, it’s a comma that would change the meaning!

Like this:

You should put smoke detectors in houses, where people live.

You should put outlet safety plugs in houses where there are babies.

Without the comma it’s clear that you are referring only to houses with babies while it’s clear other houses don’t have babies. With the comma, it’s clear you are saying all houses have people living in them.

If I know my grammar.

Well I never miss anything.    ;D

(Like never starting the plane with the wheel chocks still in place, then having to shutdown, get out and remove them.)    ::)

I've found that undergrads don't do well with online courses.  They've been in a structured environment since Grade 0.  When suddenly dropped into a course where they need self-motivation, discipline, and the ability to concentrate, they don't do well.

On the other hand, graduate students go great.  They typically have or had real world jobs where they developed the self-motivation and discipline to get the work done.  They do fine.

The next hoax?

The left desperately needs blood on the President's hands.   I foresee an international conflict that could escalate into shooting.   They've tried in the pass but Trump wouldn't take the bait.

Agreed.  My statement was unclear due to sentence structure.   :(  I can see where it could be interpreted opposite to what I intended.

Exactly.  I don't buy houses with babies though.  LOL!    ;D

Isn’t it supposed to be opposite from what I intended?  ;D

Online high school classes are an absolute joke.

I teach high school Engineering/Aviation/Aerospace.  My Tango Flight Program (www.tangoflight.org) is in 11 high schools around the country.  Every one of them is shut down for the remainder of the school year.  However, all are currently planning to open in the fall.

My local school district went to online classes in March (right after spring break).  To call it a joke would be a huge understatement.  I did better than most teachers, but only averaged about 70 percent of my kids doing ANYTHING.

We just received word this week that we must pass every student.  Unless we can document a ton of different ways that we called parents, students, counselors, principals, etc.  then we have to pass the (entire semester is credit only).

I  refuse to do it.  I passed everyone that put forth any effort, including a number that don’t deserve it, but I can not give someone credit that I have not even heard from since before spring break.  Maybe I’ll get luck and they will fire me.  It will save me having to decide if I’m coming back in the fall or not.

My cousin just graduated today. He had around 2 hours of work a week, and his girlfriend did all of it for him. My 8 year old cousin had about 30 minutes of work a week. Why do we need teachers again?

Did they learn anything that would prepare them for the next steps in life?  College, trade school, jobs, military, etc?

No. His parents even call him a bonehead and expect him to fail out of college after his first semester. The only thing he has learned that will help him in the future the past few months is running loaders at the family cement plant. Was looking into reserves or national guard, but he blew out his knee during the football season, so he is going to wait a bit to talk to a recruiter to see if they will even take him with a surgically repaired knee.

USAF accepted my bad knee after two knee surgeries from college football.

But the husky female airman at Offutt AFB Hospital wouldn’t give me a height waiver. I was 1/4” too tall sitting (trunk) height. T-37 ejection seat limitation.
