Title: Should I short FB (Facebook) stock?

Latest news item:
“Facebook ad boycott campaign to go global, organizers say”

The list of demands are here:

Stopping hate speech seems to include these actions:

“ 4. Find and remove public and private groups focused on white supremacy, militia, antisemitism, violent conspiracies, Holocaust denialism, vaccine misinformation, and climate denialism.
 ...
8. Ensure accuracy in political and voting matters by eliminating the politician exemption; removing misinformation related to voting; and prohibiting calls to violence by politicians in any format. Given the importance of political and voting matters for society, Facebook’s carving out an exception in this area is especially dangerous.”

I’ve never had an account at Facebook and never liked it or paid attention to Mark Zuckerberg. On the other hand, I admire and agree with his recent decision:

“We’re going to stand up for free expression,” he said, apparently referring to the company’s decision to resist pressure to ban political ads because it would be too tough to determine the line between true and false content.” From:

“Facebook commitment to free speech will 'piss people off', Zuckerberg says”

“Organizers” aren’t really in control of how far a boycott might go. The issue FB faces is the same twitter, google, insta, and every other ad based social platform out there has.

Too many Karen’s these days in corporations and not enough managers paying attention to the bottom line. Verizon is losing ad impressions and therefore losing money.

My take is FB stock is down a little, but I would not short them.

With all the other Social Media platforms, I am surprised Facebook has sustained as well as it has.  People seem to be fickle about this crap,  Zuckerberg like all the other Tech giants are America hating Leftists.

Parker seems to have just exploded in the last week, adding several million people who turned off Twitter.
