I'm enjoying the time off work. Of course, I have been enjoying that every day for five years.
I am celebrating this holiday in honor of all those people that are working or want to work by smoking a pork loin on the BGE that my wife bought me last year and preparing to kill a fair number of random cans of beer that have been languishing in my beer fridge for DAYS!
And I'm enjoying my white privilege by having a watermelon without anyone making ethnic slurs.
(by the way, that was not laughing at or approving anyone that makes ethnic slurs, in fact it was quite the opposite).

Some must labor on Labor Day: I got a package today from Amazon (new pair of Rockport shoes) via the USPS. Didn't think they would deliver on Labor Day (no regular mail, though.) Amazon estimated delivery tomorrow.
It's rainy and cold today, so no outdoor observances for most folks in these parts. But it got to 100° here on Saturday - and today's rain is expected to turn to snow(!) tonight. Wyoming and Colorado are expected to get the worst of the snow.

I looked in three local stores yesterday (Sunday) for a pair of shoe laces that were the right color and length. Couldn't find them anywhere so I came home and ordered them from Amazon around 3pm. They arrived at noon today. $6.49 couldn't even cover the cost of sending a deliveryman to the house.
