In 2015 I was a founder of Black Lives Matter in St. Paul. I believed the organization stood for exactly what the name implies, black lives do matter. However, after a year on the inside, I learned they have little concern for rebuilding black families, and they cared even less about improving the quality of education for students in Minneapolis. That was made clear when they publicly denounced charter schools, alongside the teachers’ union. I was an insider in Black Lives Matter, and I learned the ugly truth: the moratorium on charter schools does not support rebuilding the black family, but it does create barriers to a better education for black children.

Yes exactly. In Boston the woke idiots are canceling advanced classes because they are “too white” meaning only 30% of the students are of color when 80% are in the regular classes.
So BLM’s solution to that imbalance is to take away the advanced class for that 30%.
Apparently the whole state of Virginia is getting rid of advanced math prior to the last two years of high school because not enough blacks are taking the courses.
It’s hard enough for a smart black kid from the hood to get ahead but getting a good education is key to his success. BLM is pushing these insane course cancellations. Look no further for proof that they don’t give a fuck about black lives.
When you don’t give smart kids challenging coursework they get bored and restless, diagnosed with ADHD, they may ignore homework and paradoxically make worse grades and sometimes drop out of school because of the excruciating tedium of mainstream material which is beneath them. To have to suffer a teacher dumber than you are when you’re a kid and have no authority is torture. That’s what they’re condemning genius black kids to. And their justification is “we don’t have as high a percentage of genius kids as whites and that doesn’t look good so we need to get rid of the marker”.
I have a better idea. Figure out why the disparity in the first place and fix that (hint: poverty and nutrition is a good start) rather than punishing the genius kids you already do have.

It is sooooo disappointing that people "in charge" don't think through the consequences of their decisions.
How does someone make significant reduction in the cost of a college education? one way is to take as many advanced placement classes in High School as possible.
but, I get it, actually learning isn't the objective.... my bad.

Wouldn’t it be nice if in these school systems and governments if there was at least ONE adult in charge (kind of like Chic-fil-A) who can set the tone at the top and tell these fucking wack jobs to go take their race to the bottom elsewhere.

I worked in a public school system. They lean very heavily left, especially the programming and curriculum folks. There were some adults in the Engineering and Construction department but they had to just take marching orders from the programmers.

Sorry, not computer programmers, nor brainwashing programmers. The people who decided how the physical spaces were arranged to best meet the needs of the teachers and kids were called “programmers”. This was before we even had desktop computers in the office. It was in the sense of setting forth the school district’s building program. Then we had to build it. Them. The buildings. They tended to ask for the moon and make us go over budget. It was called “program creep”. For example, nowadays maybe they’d insist we need to add safe space rooms where children can go eat ice cream and color with crayons if somebody hurts their feelings by requiring them to do homework.
