Property assessments sky rocketed here and the county not to significantly reduce the mileage rate so they are cashing in.

Ours are frozen now, some sort of homestead old person exemption so ours didn’t go up.

Here the city is raising the tax value of your property. They say they will not raise the tax rate/thousand. Our house went up 25% in their so called value. Just another way of raising revenue.

The school board has pissed off the residents even more since then. Cut backs to hurt the students/residents, but no cut backs to the administration or teachers. They are also in the middle of multiple Title IX lawsuits due to sexual assaults and gross incompetence of how it was handled. It's so bad none of the current school board members are running for re-election due to the outrage in the community for how they handled it.

We are paying attention to local elections. You bet I’m voting in everything I can these days. There’s one going on right now in Texas for several constitutional amendments. Two of them related to covid, one requiring nursing homes to allow a family member or caregiver to visit and another prohibiting government from prohibiting religious services.

I’m glad to see “minority communities” are finally coming on board with homeschooling.
Homeschooling is gradually seen to be increasing amongst minority communities too. Owing to the concern regarding a safe school environment, compared to any other grades, high schoolers constitute the majority of those being homeschooled.

This poor kid was basically defending himself. If you watch the tape, he was being beaten. What a tragedy, if only he had just homeschooled. Easy to do in high school, they can teach themselves, all you have to do is provide the materials and some guidance. No kid should have to put up with being bullied. The anti-bullying efforts of schools just don’t cut it. Some kids will be targets no matter what. Apparently this kid saw no way out. Going to school was mandatory and apparently it never occurred to him or his parents that homeschooling was an option. He had to go to school, he was repeatedly being physically assaulted by multiple bullies. He used terrible judgment bringing a gun to school but this tragedy could easily have been avoided if society weren’t stuck on the false notion that going to school is necessary.

The trouble is these idiots say, “It’s still better than Trump.” And, “It’s just a temporary economic speedbump,” they are in such denial. That’s the core Democrat. Certainly some of the independents are seeing their error and those are the ones we hope come through in 2022 and 2024. Then there are the committed liberals who actually have an epiphany, like Loza Alexander.
The deep blue districts are a lost cause and hopefully red areas will mostly stay red if too many New Yorkers and Kaifornians don’t move and ruin them. So the few swing areas will double down on the cheating. We really need the independent voters to see the light with the Dems.
