Title: IPhone battery
Post by: Little Joe on November 30, 2021, 02:19:54 PM
My Iphone warned me about a low battery at 4pm.  That is the earliest it ever gave that warning, except for when I ran the GPS all morning without plugging it in.

I checked the battery stats and the biggest battery user today was "Exposure Notification".  I had head of this, but I thought you had to manually turn it on.

It is OFF now and the phone is on the charger.

last I knew, yes, it had to be turned on.

When did you last do an update?

Your exposure notification was ON by default????  That’s not supposed to happen!

Mine was also on. I did not turn it on, but it is now off.

How to turn them off:

Settings, Notifications, Exposure Notifications

fwiw - my exposure notification was still off.

However, I haven't done any updates for a while.  I'm still using 14.8

Oh. I’m on 14.8 too maybe that’s why it’s off, it’s always been off, and I just checked it again.

I always update mine to tell my wife what bugs her phone will get into.

I do the testing so I can keep her phone working.  She hates the new phones.  She still uses a iPhone 6.

That's pretty much my story too.
My wife is still on a 6s and refuses to update.

I usually update within a few days of Foreflight giving the all-clear, although I'm less sensitive to updates on my iphone that I am on my Ipad.

I'm now on 14.8.1 on my phone.

I have 15.1. There is now a separate Exposure Notifications setting. Mine is off and stayed off.

I had a 6s until just a while ago I finally upgraded to whatever the hell this one is.

I had no idea what a exposure notification was until
I looked it up. What the fuck?  I have an iPhone 11 running 15.1, and when I checked, it was ON. I just shut it off.

To keep this on the spin zone politics topic, I’m glad Apple decided to keep their money outside of California.  It’s just one more example that California is failing.

My husband just told me that a contractor at work just told him that the manufacturer of some doodad they’re using is moving his plant from California to HERE because they can’t stand California anymore. By here I mean like right across the river from us. I told him to tell his contractor to tell that manufacturer we welcome them but they better the fuck not keep voting Democrat and bring that shit to Texas.

We have that problem here in New Hampshire with so many folks moving up from Massachusetts BUT keep voting the same way they did.  That's why now all of our congress critters are Dems.  Hopefully we'll get rid of our 2 Reps and one Senator next year.

We've had a rash of people from New York move down here to Florida.  Three of them within a quarter mile of here.  One is next door.  One is two doors down the other directin and one is about 5 houses down the street.  They are all outspoken Anti-Biden and/or pro-Trump based on their yard signs and bumper stickers.  They all overpaid (INMNSHO) and are dishing out money on renovations.

All those "massholes" leaving hasn't helped maskachusetts much.  (>-{

I promise you that if I move up to New Hampshire, I won't be voting for the democrats.
