And, calling a trans woman “him” is an “attack”. What ever happened to sticks and stones?
They cannot change their sex or gender, however, so I will not participate in someone’s fraudulent use of the English language.

I have to admit, I also call the trans man at work his chosen female name as I don't view it my place to protest nor confront his mental illness. I also call him her and she as a sign of acceptance and yes, support. I can't imagine what these people deal with and are going through. It's obviously difficult. "She" does "her" job, is kind and accepting to me, isn't political about it, so I show her the same courtesy. I've also met her mom and grandad as they've visited my workplace and they're very thankful of the general acceptance there. Golden rule and all, ya know.

I come from a different place than either of y’all. Having been deep in the gay/trans subculture back in the 20th century, effeminate gay men, drag queens, and MtF transgenders would refer to each other with female pronouns, but it had a specific context. Often it was snarky. It was an inside joke. It called attention to the fact that this was a male they were referring to, and they were using the female pronoun to point out that he was being particularly bitchy, or outrageous, or amusing; it was definitely not always an insult, but it was always very conscious, that it was a twist on reality. It was never with the expectation that people in general should use the female pronouns, unless a transgender had actually seriously transitioned, in which case they hoped to “pass” as a female, and then it ideally shouldn’t be an issue, although that was unrealistic (hence the high suicide rate etc.)
So to me, it is a normal language thing but only in that subculture and only those conditions. I have no problem calling a transitioned tranny “she”. But overall… they’ve ruined the charm of it. When you try to force such an unnatural and special language use on unwilling people through legal mandates, canceling, shaming, etc., then you’re no longer the good guy, you’re now the oppressor.

My suggestion. Stop using PoA. They explicitly attempt to enforce subjective rules using mind reading. Not worth the hassle dealing with the MC there.Most of us have shit canned POA a long time ago. Some masochists still like to pop in just see the craziness I guess.

I like Medical Matters. I’ve always had a peripheral interest in medicine. And I have a long term friendship with Dr Bruce. Other than that I’d go there when this place got too slow. But I think it’s all over with now.
