Title: DISHONEST CDC Removes Misinformation From Webiste Without Admitting Mistake
Post by: Number7 on August 15, 2022, 12:29:55 PM
he CDC removed language from a page explaining how mRNA COVID-19 vaccines work without telling the public the page had been updated, much less what had been changed, according to Just the News' review of archived pages.

One of three headings under the "facts" section was completely removed between July 22 and July 23. It said:

"The mRNA and the spike protein do not last long in the body. Our cells break down mRNA from these vaccines and get rid of it within a few days after vaccination. Scientists estimate that the spike protein, like other proteins our bodies create, may stay in the body up to a few weeks."

As of Monday morning, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention page says it was last updated July 15.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) highlighted the removal Saturday night, crediting scientist Ray Armat for the discovery.

"The CDC is quietly deleting misleading information from their website," Massie wrote on Facebook.

Seriously.  Not even Orwell or Heinlein envisioned the level of insane the left has brought us to.

What assertion in the removed text is considered misinformation?

In the old days a mistaken technical claim was just called a mistake, particularly if it was promptly retracted after it was discovered by whoever published it. If a claim is seen to be someway in error and taken down a day later, is some sort of press release now supposed to be issued?

Is your misstatement about overnight intentional, or in error?
Many of The lies were posted for over two years.

A stupid comprehension error on my part.  :-[

The claim about mRNA seemed reasonable since there are standard ways to measure their half life and most are measured in hours.
Database for mRNA half-life of 19,977 genes obtained by DNA microarray analysis of pluripotent and differentiating mouse embryonic stem cells (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19001483/)

I see the claim about spike protein life-span being a few weeks is contrary to the half-life of several months worked out by one study done back in 2020:
SARS-CoV-2 spike protein antibodies can persist up to 200 days after symptom onset (https://www.news-medical.net/news/20201125/SARS-CoV-2-spike-antibodies-can-persist-200-days-after-symptom-onset-UK-based-case-study-finds.aspx)

Ran across this interesting article while searching for info on the half life of the spike protein (it deals with the virus itself):

Long COVID: 'Viral reservoir' of spike protein may explain long-term symptoms (https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/long-covid-viral-reservoir-of-spike-protein-may-explain-long-term-symptoms)

"o Researchers investigated the antigens of SARS-CoV-2—the virus that causes COVID-19—present in blood plasma samples collected from individuals with long COVID and typical COVID-19 infection.

o They found that one particular SARS-CoV-2 antigen—the spike protein—was present in the blood of a majority of long COVID patients, up to a year after they were first diagnosed with COVID-19.

o In patients with typical COVID-19 infection, however, the spike protein was not detected.

o This finding provides evidence for the hypothesis that SARS-CoV-2 can persist in the body through viral reservoirs, where it continues to release spike protein and trigger inflammation."
