Title: Walked into a prop

God I hate these.  It would have been better if Kathryn’s Report had stayed down, I don’t need to be reading about these things. 

Newly minted pilot allows pax to exit with engine running, pax is his brother’s wife.  (An assumption, he shares her husband’s last name.)

Why do people allow anyone to exit a plane with the engine running.   :(

We always shut down the engines and furthermore I taught the kids from the get go to give the prop arc a wide berth at ALL TIMES.  Didn’t matter if the plane was cold in the hangar, there was a permanent no-go bubble around it.  I wanted it to be automatic habit in them.

This gets me so angry. As a pilot and an owner, every one of these accidents hit home, because they are so absolutely avoidable.
