It’s only going to get worse.

And this is not happening to just small third world airlines.  Lack of crews, management adding more flights, rapid turn arounds, multiple leg days, weather, gate delays, etc is compounding the problem.  Add management types that their only concern is profit, and it becomes even worse.

“Time to spare, go by air” use to be a joke, in our post COVID economy it’s now SOP.

And mutually closed airspace over Russia and the West.  I assume it’s still closed.

I’m looking forward to single pilot air carrier operations to save money. I mean, what could go wrong?  Smdh

 The running joke is:

Airline Spokesman: “We are announcing our new pilotless airliners”

Public: “What??? No way in hell am I getting on one of those!”

Airline Spokesman: “Our fares from NY to LA will be $69”

Public:”Hmmmm, ya know, drone tech is getting better……”

Oh yea. I think the best way to improve airline travel is to raise the prices to what it costs to fly the routes. Across the board. No discount fares with business travelers picking up the shortfall. And by the way, put in a dress code while you’re at it. That will exclude half the people, which would be ideal.

Interestingly enough, the most hated airline (Spirit) has some of the best numbers in the industry when looking at passenger loads.

Deregulation turned airlines into Greyhounds.

Also:  Go back to big seats with lots of room, disable the recline, and charge way more money.  I’d love flying again.  Oh and get rid of TSA.  And allow open and conceal carry.

Was filling my car with gas the other day and saw a woman get out of her car and go into the convenience store. She was dressed in slippers, pajamas, and bright pink bathrobe with belt untied and robe flapping open to reveal her PJs.

The Bush/Cheney power grab gave us the TSA and the DHS.   Nothing but bloated ineffective agencies that waste taxpayer money and provide zero benefit.

What should have been done was to have the airlines provide security for their planes and passengers.  This way it would have been customer focused, and not staffed up with greasy hair tatted goons looking for an easy gov job.

Don't forget the criminally imposed (nothing patriotic about it) patriot act.

You know, the one where the government photographs every piece of mail going to your house and stores it all in case they might want to spy on you looking for something to jack you up for, later?

My neighbor is quite proud of his USPS app that shows him a photograph of every piece of mail he’s going to collect when he walks 50 feet over to his mailbox.

Creeps me out.

What?  They do that?

Yes they do.  My neighbor has also told me about this “service” the post office now offers.

They probably take pictures of all mail so they can automatically do character recognition and route the mail to the proper slot.  They just found a way to sell what they are already doing.

Just don't tell them that they can also sell all addresses + return addresses so that Facebook knows who we're sending mail to.

No doubt one of their customers is the FBI in their efforts to catch mail order illegal drugs and CP.

I presume that is the service called "Informed Delivery". We've had that for several years and get an early morning email that shows scanned images of most of the postal mail we'll get later in the day. On our USPS web account we can track packages similar to the service offered by UPS and Fedex.

It comes in handy when mail is held while we travel because I can check to see what mail we got each day.
In all cases if anything goes missing between the time of the sorting scan and the time we actually get the mail we know exactly what to report as missing.

It is handy because our local PO constantly loses our mail or delivers it to neighbors.  But it’s still creepy and I’m certain the USPS also collects the data and sends it to the FBI, NSA and probably private marketing firms.

The USPS collects the photos as a direct result of the passage of the patriot act.

People made shit up about it to justify this invasion of privacy afterward.
