Deserves its own thread. One thing I’ve noticed for years about leftists is a creepy smugness, an attitude of superiority regarding whatever they, or really, what their hypnotist handlers the cabal media tell them to, believe. It’s their signal characteristic … and it is what prevents them from hearing another opinion, or even the facts.
So this stove thing emerges right when Biden is in the bright light for the classified docs. We’re supposed to be scared and outraged that a key element of our lives and homes will be taken away!
BUT, the giveaway is the SUDDENNESS with which all the mouthpieces and Dem poster people pivot to being absolutely against something that we cretins had no idea could harm us, when in fact there is little to no evidence beyond a couple of “studies” pulled out of history to support it. When we moved to our current home that has a gas furnace and range, I researched natural gas thoroughly and found no reason to fear it.
At this point the sheer theatre of these revelations is what stands out. They’ve done cars and gasoline, fertilizer, light bulbs, toilets, you name it. And now they’re going after the cleanest fuel on the planet. You think this won’t extend to gas furnaces?
We’re going numb from all the threatened removals of things that make life better, possible, worthwhile and good.

Would love a gas stove and gas heat again. Grew up with it then had it again when I lived in Colorado, plus a gas fireplace. They can go eff themselves. All of them.

My whole house, 3300 sq.ft, is electric except my cooktop and fireplace. Just a bit over $500 last months electric bill. Each room has a thermostat, so rooms we aren't in much get turned down.

2,200 sq ft total electric.
In winter my electric bill is around $100/month.
In summer it is around $200.

Hubby and I discussed going ahead and renovating to get a gas stove in. Would be major.

My rate has gone up from PECO. Utilities here are all "Rate Based" meaning they get approval to raise their rates if somebody sneezes. Yes their generation costs have gone up due to gas and coal price increases but their rates go up disproportionately to their ACTUAL costs. They have you by the short hairs.

Our lunch today. Rice simmering at the perfect heat, lemon butter sauce for the salmon kept perfectly warm, green beans with shiitakes ready to blast when the salmon goes in the oven.
Electric will not do all this. It is not finely adjustable nor fast to heat.
