Or, blame any Congress since then for not getting rid of it. For years Congress had to affirmatively renew each of those things because they knew they would impact freedom when they made the law. I believe some years ago, they passed a law to make them permanent.

Why? Because they view electric cars as the most significant market segment of the future. They aren't building those plants to produce cars for the 3% today, they're doing it to produce cars for the 25% in 10 years.
In the EU, electric cars are already over 10% and growing.

I disagree. If a guy is having sex with a guy then he isn't straight, no matter what the reason. He might have a preference for women, but having sex with men and women is bisexual by definition. If you want to stretch it, you might say they are just morally ambivalent about who they have sex with, but they're still doing it with both sexes.
