Spin Zone / Re: We Invented Jesus Christ

When the wife complained that I was missing Mass way too much and it wasn't a good example for the kids, I took them all up to around 4000 feet on a sparking CAVU Sunday morning, and said "This is my Church."

"I'd rather be flying and thinking about God than sitting in church and thinking of flying" so the saying goes. For me, the jury is out. The engineer/scientist in me says yeah, hard to prove, but I also see a lot of very smart successful people who believe, and I see our church involved in a lot of good mission work. People helping people ain't a bad thing.

Probably all part of the show. The Donald likes a good show.

And don't forget the rich are fleeing in ever increasing numbers:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-01-31/what-do-they-know-why-are-so-many-super-wealthy-preparing-bug-out-locations

Plenty of other articles to read. So, corps are fleeing, the 1% are fleeing, that leaves us that do well, but not well enough to leave, holding the bag to pay for ever increasing entitlements. It's a house of cards, and it's going to fall. Hopefully not in my lifetime, but certainly in our children's lifetimes.

America was a great country and a grand experiment, but I fear it's a dead man walking at this point.

Got me, haven't been to either place. Maybe they think you're going to race your car?

Didn't you ask your agent why the increase?

Probably some actuary statistics showing recently divorced men as a higher risk.

I think the real problem is the reluctance of the republican side of the aisle to stand up and refuse to give in to the idiocy of the far left.

They have to walk a fine line, stand too tough and they drive more voters to the D team. If you can't get elected......

I won't watch that crap that artificially promotes any of the Progressive agenda, meaning I don't watch very much.

Funny, but I've become my Dad. I watch sports and news and not much else, because most other stuff is crap.

I think Cam Newton is a douche.  Have you seen his commercials?  What a tool.  Go Broncos!

I don't think he's a douche, he's just a young cocky guy. Kinda like a young cocky guy named Joe who told everyone he'd win the superbowl, and did.

This one will be Dad vs. the young punk kid.

It's sad that we can't find a true leader in a population of more than 325 million people.

Can't get the job without being connected. Can't be connected without being in someone's pocket.

Yeah, that's what drew your attention to the sign.

The correct answer to the question posed is that it doesn't matter as long as it has a parachute.

Maybe we should ask Sac?

You realize that this describes the entire social conservative wing of the Republican party as well.

I tend to (maybe wrongly) believe that Repubs are more interested in hard subject matter, but then I think of stuff like abortion, and well, yeah.

If this was the POA, the moderators would send him a PM threatening to post his personal details publicly.  They did that to me when I was calling out their hypocrisy.

So there is merit behind Captain's whining on that subject matter?

People don't care as long as they get their free shit, gays get to marry, and illegal aliens get to stay. People don't care about foreign policy, national security, the economy, or other hard subjects. As long as their social agendas are being tended to, they're quite happy.

That's generally true of anybody that makes their first dive in to debate.  It takes some time until folks realize what they don't understand well enough.  I know plenty of people that couldn't hold a conversation on world events for quite some time initially, but eventually could.  It wouldn't be fair to discount somebody for not having sufficient time to figure out how to have something to add.

THIS is why I mostly didn't participate in SZ but liked to look in for the opinions and discourse. I don't have the time to properly research the subjects and KNOW I'll have my ass handed to me on a platter. Anyone who had looked into the SZ for more than a minute should realize one needs to be prepared.

The real agenda is to disarm citizens, for the sake of more and bigger government.

Of course with personal weapons gone, our country becomes a big target for takeover by any number of our enemies.
