there is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING that President Trump could do that would make the democrats happy.

Exactly--thank you.  The hatred for Trump runs so deep that at this point a substantial portion of the democrat party thinks that assassinating him would be acceptable.

All I am saying is that antics such as described in the OP do nothing more than make life more difficult for his (hopeful) successor.

I do not believe there is a shred of truth in that claim.

Oh, I think there's at least a shred.  Back during Trump's first term he intentionally pissed the left off.  This was satisfying to us here, but by the time the second-term election came around, the democrats were so slobberingly mad that they would have voted for ANYONE just to get rid of Trump.  (...and it worked) He's doing the same thing again, making the 2028 election more difficult for the follow-on candidate.

As I have said before, if Trump would just ACT like a politician (you know, a lying, conniving suit) he would be much more palatable.

Funny but juvenile.  Intentionally antagonizing the democrats is how we ended up with a Biden presidency.

Many of the major "news" outlets have published stories noting that trans people are a small percentage of the number of murderous shooters. This is demonstrably true. The message, of course, is "Don't worry about trannys."

The problem is that they're asking the wrong question.

The question to be asked, probably unanswerable, is "What percentage of trannys become radicalized terrorists?"  If it is true that an abnormally high percentage of trannys become radicalized, then it is appropriate to keep an eye on them even if their numbers are small.  If you spot a black widow in your house do you ignore it because most spiders are harmless?

Griselda (the female) somehow flew into the garage and couldn’t figure out how to get out.

This has happened to us many times.  As you found out, when a hummingbird gets into trouble, its instincts tell it that "up" is safety.  Sometimes placing something bright red just outside the garage door will get them out of there.  If that doesn't work, eventually the bird will exhaust itself and drop to the floor at which point you can pick it up and take it outside.  After it's rested a bit it will fly off and get something to eat.

Yes--I've been feeding the hummers here and at my old house for almost 50 years.  That said, something is going on this year; I have hummingbird activity like I've never had, or even seen before.  Usually I have one feeder in my back yard, another in front.  This year the activity in front is so great I had to add two more feeders.  Each feeder holds a quart of juice and none of them will go more than two days before needing refilling.

Each feeder can handle six birds, and at any given time during the day I will have 5-10 birds feeding.  At peak times there are so many birds buzzing around you'd swear you're looking at a swarm of bees.

In a windshear situation it's pitch/power.  In a significant shear it becomes useless.  Close to the ground and trying to interpret a trend on an ASI will end up putting the plane in the dirt.

You're drawing a general conclusion from a worst-case scenario.  It is true that in some circumstances a pilot may not have time to consult the ASI, but that doesn't make the gauge useless--it is still providing correct (if phase-shifted) information.  In any event, we certainly agree much more than disagree, so I am not interested in getting into a pissing contest with you over something like this.

In true windshear the ASI becomes useless, it's pitch and power that matter.

I partially disagree with that statement, although I think that the group generally fully understands the issue and agrees that the video (whatever it says--I didn't watch it either) is in error.

Anyway, pitch and power certainly are primary concerns, but one cannot ignore the airspeed indicator.  Reason being, the ASI is showing the wind that the plane is flying in at the moment.  That wind might change again at any moment, but whatever it says must be believed and accounted for, especially if the airspeed drops when close to the ground.  In other words, apply pitch and power as required to maintain enough lift to stay flying.

Edit:  I do agree that the ASI might be momentarily in error if the wind vector changes too fast for it. I still would not ignore it, though, because even though it may not be stabilized, it is showing the trend.

No, a tailwind increases your ground speed but not your airspeed.

A headwind decreases your ground speed but does nothing to your airspeed.  Pitch and power changes influence your airspeed.

Yes.  Once you are flying you are one with the air and cannot even tell if you are IN a headwind except by checking your groundspeed.

No AR15 needed...

That meme is a true story.  Yesterday on the news they showed a line of people waiting at a Ukraine police station where they were to be issued a rifle (AK) on request.  Evidently no questions asked--one person interviewed had never fired a gun before and didn't even know how to operate his new rifle.  I hope the police were smart enough not to take names of people getting rifles, since those sorts of records would be among the first seized by the Russians.

This, of course, is good evidence why the Second Amendment is FAR from outdated, and points to the need of the people not only to be armed, but also competent with their rifles.  And I mean "rifles".  Shotguns and pistols won't cut it.

Justin Trudeau has a red headed grandson?

I presume he meant to write "her ginger grandson", referring to Prince Harry, who I guess is not a prince any more.

Edit:  Wait a minute.  You're just screwing around, aren't you?

A friend of mine that works at the local news paper has often expressed his regrets that review editors were some of the first people cut to pare expenses.

Being on the coast, our local paper often has articles on nautical issues, local fishing conditions, and the like.  One time there was an above-the-fold front page headline about a local sailor who was going to "Circumvent the Earth".  Even I gave them some gas over that one.

I worked with a guy at a defense contractor who was an English major but was now an engineer.  The errors in technical document drove him nuts.

Years ago when I worked at IBM we had an internal network (virtual machine) on which there were forums, much like today's internet forums.  One forum, called "nitpick forum" was for people to post examples of official IBM writings that contained grammatical or usage errors.  The poster was supposed to post the example and then point out the required correction.  One rule for the forum, though, (NOT unwritten) was that the poster himself was expected to use perfect English in his post, and if he made a mistake, he became fair game.  I learned quite a lot there, actually.  To this day I try hard to write correctly, even in forum posting.  Sometimes a clunker gets through, but it's not through lack of effort.

The lack of capitalization and punctuation drives me fucking nuts.

I'm with you.  If I see a post in a forum with no capitals I just skip it, and, depending on the forum, add the writer to my ignore list.  Like most here, I was taught to double-space; I can't even imagine why it would occur to someone to change that rule.   I think there is another new rule, probably unwritten:  all memes must contain at least one spelling, grammatical, or punctuation error.  I can't count the number of memes I've seen, otherwise pretty clever, that were ruined (to me) by a glaring mistake.
