Spin Zone / Re: Joke Thread: Post 'em if ya got 'em

Okay thank you.  I see what's going on.  The video has disappeared in this thread on Safari on my iPad.  But it is here on the PC in Windows.  My iPad is also doing the delay thing again when I try to post.  I hate Apple.  But I hate Microsoft too.  I hate them all.

The Supreme Court just struck down New York's "explain why you need a gun to our satisfaction" law.  The left freaks out.

Yup. And if they did any of those things, it would be racism when the white privileged Academy disciplines him.

The Left’s language, not mine.

In related news, Fox News Sunday’s viewership has jumped 21% since Wallace left.

Choke on that, Wallace.

I know we are all successful people here, but if I was 74 years old and was going to be paid $8-$10 million, I would eat whatever shit sandwich the payor of that contract wants me to eat.

I’m sure his fear is that his career dies in obscurity at CNN, instead of how his dad retired.

lots of possibilities wrt "appropriate corrective actions", eh?

Very true! I much prefer a forum where these sort of mis-statements can be corrected and discussed, rather than censored.

Oh well, glad to not spend much time on PoA anymore. Who needs the headache of constantly worrying what the MC will do on a touchy subject.

I ordered the free kits from the post office. When the cone in, I'm going to just use them without actually swabbing anything and see what the results are.

or the kids don't want the hard jobs.

There are lots and lots and lots of jobs in farming

There are lots and lots and lots of jobs in landscaping and such

There are lots and lots and lots of jobs in construction

My girl is now a freshman at college, but the first year she was legal to work, she worked the summer at Krystal. The second summer as a carhop at Sonic (where she learned that being sweet, nice, and always smiling results in good tips, something the other girls there couldn't grasp), and her third summer at Tazikis. In addition to Tazikis, last summer she also cleaned VRBO houses on the side, and worked a handful of days on a communal farm harvesting vegetables.

I provided her a car and paid for the gas, that was a business agreement[1], good grades = car privileges. The rest of her spending money all through highschool and now college came from her own pocket.

[1] those good grades and her good act score (35) resulted in getting nice academic scholarships [2]

[2] which will benefit her more than us. Before she went to school we told her we had a certain pot of gold earmarked for college, and she could spend it all undergrad, or be thrifty and any left over could be applied to her masters should she choose to go on. She chose a school that had a good reputation in her desired field that also offered her a very attractive scholarship.

I'm proud of her, smart kid, she'll do well in life.

Our lights will be off tonight, but I tried to go buy some last minute candy just in case.  Everybody is out of everything, including the regular candy. I guess I’ll just have to say “Sorry, Biden screwed the supply chain and therefore there’s no candy”.

From a friend…

My girlfriend is so intelligent. I used my best friend's phone to call her and she already knew that it was me. She picked up and immediately said: "Hi, sweetheart!".
I'm so lucky to have her.☺️😍

Spin Zone / Re: Why I’m not getting the vaccine
« on: August 13, 2021, 03:13:01 PM »
Mutations happen anyway, vaccine or no. They are random. They can confer different characteristics to the “life form” (if you can call viral DNA life.)

The difference between mutations in a vaccinated person vs an unvaccinated person is that in a vaccinated person, the virus is more easily defeated, so the only mutations that survive are those able to circumvent the vaccine. Therefore the virus evolves to be more difficult to defeat with a vaccine.

Some viruses survive in a vaccinated person, we know this because some vaccinated persons get sick. There may be fewer of them and fewer numbers of mutations but the mutations that do survive are those that strengthen the virus against the vaccine, hence why the vaccine is already becoming less effective against emergent variants.

My understanding about the replication incapable feature of some vaccines refers to the viral vector, not the mechanism by which it protects you. It renders the chimpanzee adenovirus vector incapable of replicating, not the covid virus. It defeats covid like the other vaccines, by notifying your immune system that the spike protein is foreign and to be attacked.

With this so-called "vaccinate everyone" scheme, we are creating superbugs like the overuse of antibiotics and hand sanitizer caused.

I don't believe anyone knowledgeable has ever said the vaccine is 100% effective.  And the statements that I did hear about "practically" eliminating the need for hospitalization of vaccinated people were all before the emergence of the new variants.

In the last day or two heard a news reporter say that the vaccine virtually 100% prevents you from being sick enough to be hospitalized or die. So that was well after the new variants. However, the news reporter is hardly “knowledgeable”.

I hear all kinds of garbage about the new variant(s), from they are more deadly, to way less deadly, and that the vaccines are anywhere from not at all effective against them to nearly as effective as they are against the original.  Averaging out all of this, I’m concluding the vaccine must at least greatly reduce your odds of needing hospitalization or dying, and is probably at least partially effective against variants. But who the hell knows what the truth is. I wish we had real journalism interested in facts and truth.

Spin Zone / Re: You just can't make this up..............
« on: July 12, 2021, 05:56:44 PM »
I disagree.  If a guy is having sex with a guy then he isn't straight, no matter what the reason.  He might have a preference for women, but having sex with men and women is bisexual by definition.  If you want to stretch it, you might say they are just morally ambivalent about who they have sex with, but they're still doing it with both sexes.

Anything else is leftist doublethink.  You are defined by the reality of your actions, not by how you identify.

Totally agree.  If you can get it up for a guy, you're not just heterosexual, your Bi or Gay.
