I'm in the burn it all down camp. If that means secession so be it. If it also means Civil War that'll suck but at least this crap will end.

Yeah, that was hilarious,
but to be honest, that could have happened to me too, and I suspect a lot of you.

Especially Anthony. (Hows that injury healing up Anthony)?

I'm feeling pretty good in the areas of the fractures, but I have nerve issues in my upper arm that effects my range of motion which should get better on their own but I be seeinga nuerosurgein and neurologist for tests and treatment.

I'd like to start back at the gym by the end of this month at the latest and yes back on the bicycle.  Good news is I've managed to keep my weight the same so feel pretty good.

Thanks for asking.   ;)

I tend to see a glimmer of optimism in the social wars.

Gay men in particular are coming out rejecting the trans movement, particularly with respect to grooming children.

San Francisco voters recalled a Soros-funded DA and kicked him out of office before the end of his first term. In San Francisco!

Ron DeSantis incurred slings and arrows in fighting the social wars, but still got a 6 week abortion ban passed in the state.

Conservatives have been nothing short of successful in rejecting the tranny lobby in killing Bud Light, and severely damaging Target. When has that ever happened before?

I've been thinking the same thing but afraid to say it and jinx the push back against leftist insanity!

Oh shit.  Sorry Rush!!  I was just scrolling down on Tapatalk and thought to myself it was an awfully long post for Anthony, but I went with it.

Now it makes sense!  Lol

Stan. You made my day! Lol.

Edited: I don't know how the word hypocrite got into the top of my post. Weird. Certainly wasn't intended for you Stan.

Anthony, this is an outstanding post, and you read the room very well.

The only slight correction is I don’t mind that he has a “mean” personality if it is directed at the left, AND brings voters to his camp. If he pushes voters away, including those in the important middle, then it is simply self-destructive narcissism. So far his outright lies have been primarily directed at DeSantis, and they violate Reagan’s 11th commandment. If he thinks those things will galvanize us populists to him, he is sorely mistaken.

Otherwise, well done.

That is actually Rush's excellent post and I am flattered that you'd even think it was mine.     ;D

The RNC was on its last leg in 2016 when they thought everyone wanted Jeb!, yet another Bush.

Trump expanded the party to a level never seen, and invited many in.  His “what have you got to lose” in telling minorities after years of democrat abuse brought even more in.

Of course the RNC wanted the voters, but in their true to form ideology they expected these new voters to go Jeb! and toss Trump aside.

The RNC leadership and many if it's backers hated that Trump was in the Primary race and also hated that he won.

In the meantime, we're now screwed as there will be no debt ceiling in place for a year and a half.  Crank up the presses and the inflation and the interest rates.

Which will cause the economy to slow and layoffs.  Stagflation is here!

The multinational corporations are all run by Democrats and now the RNC wants to realign with them? Tells me all I need to know.  Effing traitors.

The Senate approves it with a vote of 63-36. It passed with 46 Democrat and 17 Republican votes. So basically 65% of Republicans voted against it.

Because they know what the vote will be before they vote and it's agreed beforehand who gets to take the fall and who doesn't based on who's vulnerable and who's not.

Balancing the budget would be a start.    Spending above the budget incurs debt.   The budget needs to address paying down the debt while remaining balanced.

This can easily be done.  Stop sending money to countries that hate us.  Stop funding meaningless grants in which there is no accountability.   Stop sending money to other countries to build their border walls, or provide their infrastructure.

Stop funding proxy wars.  Stop paying for other countries defense.   Just those few things with a balanced budget would start paying down the debt.

It will never happen both Democrats and Republicans are for all that spending.

Speaking of Corvettes, Mark just finished painting the body. He is fully restoring a 1980 model.  I’m really proud of him, he’s worked very hard on it.  Well I say finished, but it has to cure now, then I guess he polishes or some other step.  He’s already done the frame, the brakes, the engine, I think the wiring harness is next.

Very cool!

Thanks!  Short term, not much.  But medium to long term a significant change to my standard of living.  I appreciate the perspective at the very local level.  I was having trouble caring about all the shouting.

Well remember, I want to abolish the Federal Government,  so.......     ;D

Oh come on.  He’s what, 30 points ahead of DeSantis and all the rest are jokes.  He’s got the nomination in the bag.  Apparently most Republicans think he’s the best for the country.  As for winning the general, it’s not a sure thing DeSantis can win the general more than Trump can.  They’re laying in all the plans to cheat, do you really think the Dems will say, “Oh, it’s DeSantis, well then he’s acceptable, we’ll stand down and let him win.”

I don't think Jesus could win if he ran as a Republican.

I understand that this bill really sucks and does nothing to ensure that this country endures.  It's a bad bill and the Republicans could have done much better if they had the stomach to actually fight for what's right.

But with the big picture out of the way, here's another question...  How will this affect me?  Really, how will all this budget crap in Washington do anything positive or negative for my life?  Inflation goes up.  Inflation goes down.  Stocks go up.  Stocks go down.  In the small, so what? In the very VERY narrow focus of just me and my family,  what will change?

Government will continue to grow and get even more out of control and intrusive.  Your rights, freedoms and liberty will continue to erode.  Your taxes on all levels will increase as all costs of living go up. Your standard of living  could be affected.

Oh my gosh.

It just gets stupider.
