Spin Zone / Re: Rush is gone.
« on: February 17, 2021, 07:45:20 PM »
I listened to him probably starting at 8 years old, hes the one who started me down the pseudo classical liberal path.  I remember in college when one of my fellow students called him up asking something about economic policy in the gulf war and rush basically responded with the keynesian perspective. In an attempt to wrestle with why rush was going against my instincts I dove into the economic and political writings of  Locke, Smith, Hayek, Friedman, Sowell(plus a whole bunch of law writings even adopting an online moniker incorporating justice Scalia lol).  Eventually ending up in a sort of Chicago school economic  fan, neorealist foreign policy, and a social libertarian where i've remained for a good 15 years now.

While we ended up disagreeing more and more he was always entertaining to listen to. was sad to hear he was suffering from cancer, well wishes to his fam.

Spin Zone / Re: How Long Before The Economic Collapse
« on: January 07, 2021, 06:14:53 AM »
Unsure since economic priciples have been screwy with the amount of money the government has been shoveling out and not just 2020 trumps run higher deficits than many obama years even when trump had the house and Senate. Maybe republicans with become deficit hawks again now that they are out of power.

I dont think its a conspiracy. Ive known a few pass in their 40s and 50s. Get repubs covid, make their immune system deal with it poorly, involve medical professionals including dozens of nurses 3 a few docs, make the treatments ineffective, all to.... Communism!

Asking again. How has Christianity invaded the federal government?
i dont know that its invaded but i know the PAC wants better enforcement of the establishment clause and removal of funding from organizations that discriminate based on religion. IE adoption agencies that recieve federal funding not working with same sex couples.
I see their point cant say im too bothered either way.

I’m an atheist so in theory I’m not immediately threatened by a few people promoting “de-radicalization” of “white christian nationalists”. But I am a libertarian, and the people promoting these positions are anti-liberty and the means they propose are literally government central planning of belief systems. I believe it is generally considered a good idea to counter bad ideas as soon as they emerge. Once they gain broader traction it is that much more difficult to change minds because people become emotionally invested in their positions. So one would be bothered to respond who rejects central planning and constraints on liberty. I hope this answers your rhetorical question.
see now this is a policy criticism. Its what people should be posting instead of trying  score political points by saying what about antifa or BLM.

I would agree providing funding for deradicalization isnt governments role i dont like anyone in government having the ability to determine who or what is radical.

You wear your stupid so well.
Insults aside other than some feelings of whataboutism why exactly would one be bothered by this.

So a PAC and 3 legislators present a proposal for returning to constitutional secularism.....scary...i guess you could tortuously read it as applying to those scary baptist and Methodist lol
Heres the offending bit

"We recommend you: encourage the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to dedicate resources to de-radicalization programs aimed at hate groups, including, but not limited to, white nationalists; increase monitoring of such groups, including the online environment, and take action to address increased hate crimes toward minority faith communities; and shift rhetoric to label violent white nationalist extremists as terrorists."

Lol who comes up with this stuff.

Russia moving 7 little frigates and corvettes

Less than 5% of USAF transports in or out of nellis over a few days.... Invasion!

Even our carrier battle groups havn't changed much. I pulled random snapshots from 2019 back to 2017 sometimes there would be transitions from the med to indian ocean and gulf area. The pacific and atlantic  fleets have more or less remained constant. Sometimes a bit north or south sometimes trading out positions... Nothing sinister.

So four years of cowardice from you with Trump in office and you decide to post because you think its over.  What a joke.    ::)
huh? You talking about posting here? I just swing by every now and then cause it's a bit dead over here. Same for reddit etc probably don't have more than 50 post on any one site. Just found the hysterics here enough to throw my 1 cent in 😁

I'll take pretty much any bet against him lol. Come Jan 20 he can start on his media empire but he has a zero % of remaining president. All these grasping at faint hope reminds me of the lefts crying about foreign interference.0

Spin Zone / Re: Electoral Vote Count: Predictions
« on: November 02, 2020, 10:21:35 PM »
Haven't calculated an exact total for a guess but I don't see trump winning. He's got too many close states that he can't afford to lose. I would guess anything from a narrow loss to getting hammered. Voting is up which is never good for republicans, his approval rating is below anyone whos ever won.
Trump loses senate flips would be my guess.

I will be gloriously entertained if the trumpkin pulls it off, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see a blowout.

I often wonder with the pilot shortage inside the military, why they don't reach out to pilots in the the civilian community to work as civilian pilots.  Granted, not many of us are under 40, but we could be trained to fly boring old cargo planes, right?  Do we really need to be 20 years old with our hair on fire for that?
No shortage of pilots so much as a shortage of the senior staff O5-6s. They have a near infinite supply of O-1-2s with Shiny Jet syndrome to fly.
