Spin Zone / Re: a possible reason to vote for the donald?
« on: November 08, 2016, 04:35:04 AM »
Do liberals believe that a vote for someone other than Hillary is a vote for Trump?
Voting for Johnson gives you triple the power.

A vote for "Not Hillary" is a vote for Trump = 1
A vote for "Not Trump" is a vote for Hillary = 1
A vote for Johnson is a vote for Johnson = 1

Total:  3 votes!

Actually a Jeff post is more like this:

Jeez.

You've even run out of new ad hominems.  For you bread and butter, you'd think you'd be a BIT more creative.

Don't confuse deliberately ignoring with failure to refute.  Few here will defend Trump very far past his ability to serve as the anti-Clinton.
OK, you responded, but don't refute.  I take that as most likely an inability.

The funny thing is with all the Trumpkins, they all rail about me being against Trump, but you know what they don't do?  They don't refute what I say, because I'm telling the truth about their Orange Lord.

You're no t going to give up, are you?   You are fine with Hillary winning and spending her entire time fighting off investigations until she is impeached or destroys the justice system even more.
You're not going to give up are you?  You're fine with a New York Liberal Democrat Hillary Donor winning and spending his entire time grabbing the pussies of interns and cooking off nukes because someone insulted him on Twitter at 3am.

Something being real is not a prerequisite for Donnie suing someone.  He threatens to sue people all the time for slights, real and imagined.

Spin Zone / Re: Freedom of the Press; any restrictions?

I agree.  But perhaps there could be a little more freedom for our military and intelligence services to withhold certain information, at least for some amount of time.  Perhaps the phrase "no comment" should be a little more legally emphatic.

But I agree that it is a slippery slope.
The military and intel services are entirely free to withhold anything they want to withhold.  The key is for them to actually hold the information.

The press, once they get their hands on it, however, are entirely free to publish it.

Spin Zone / Re: 269-269 - who?
« on: November 03, 2016, 04:40:17 PM »
To be clear, in the event of a 269-269 tie, the House would only have Trump and Clinton as options to vote for.

Best case there is that neither can reach 26 states, and Pense is selected by the Senate as the next VP, and would become Acting President on January 20 until such time as the House broke their impasse, potentially the entire term.

I read that as "almost, but not quite 49".
So as far as nit picks go, that is one itty bitty nit.
To be clear, the age 49 was specifically mentioned as an age that someone could be ignorant of Stephanopolis.

And I'm several years short of that age.

Are there people here who are young?  Young enough to not know that Stephenapolis was White House Director of Communications and later Senior Advisor under Bill Clinton?  I ask because if you do not know this then you grant him some measure of neutrality when in fact he has always been a huge supporter of the Clintons.

How young?  He left the White House in 1996, 20 years ago. Depending on how much attention you paid to politics as a kid, you could be 49 and not know.
I'm not yet 49, I lived in another country at the time, and I know who Stephanopolis was back then.

Hillary is right wing?
Compared to Trump, it's arguable.

. Immigration reform alone will swell the DNC voting block so as to make any other party, including Republicans, irrelevant.
That statement tells me you have not a clue about how the immigration process works in the United States.
