No, sorry, but that's BS. Anybody who wants to move to my country can do so, and do so in a reasonable amount of time. You just need to be employable.

There is no legal immigration path for the vast majority of people who want to move to the US. Sure, there are some people win a lottery, but that's a system that benefits the US - the people who enter the lottery has less than 1% chance of winning, so that's not what I would call a valid immigration path. It's also not available to people from the countries that have the most immigrants (by design).

It used to be that at least if you have a degree or 12 years experience in an advanced field, you were certain before, but not anymore. That's now yet another lottery system which you have less than 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 chance, depending on your degree level.

So apart from the millionaire-visa (EB visa) there is no sure legal path to immigrate to the US anymore. Well, get married I suppose, or do family based and wait decades. But I mean employment-based.

It's up to Congress to change it, but I have a feeling that if Congress were to pass a law that let's say increase the GC cap by 25%, that Trump would veto it. But that's neither here nor there.

There is no specific provision in the law for suspending the Diversity Lottery program for 2 months. Doing so is artificial, and it's artificial to the point of having zero effect:

• First of all, it's the wrong time of year for the lottery program, it happens in November.
• Even if it was the right time of year, the USCIS is currently closed and don't process anything - much less DV applications.
• Even if the above weren't the case, the program doesn't have a monthly cap, it has a yearly cap. So if you were to suspend let's say applications in May and June, those applications will just be processed from July to December and the same cap for the year reached.

This is pandering, plain and simple.

This legislation doesn't do any of that. Almost everybody who applies for a Greencard are already in the country and have been for years.

Pretty much the only exception to this is diversity greencard lottery winners. However, that only happens in November 2021 anyway so it wouldn't apply.

Not even Trump think it changes movement, he didn't say it's to stop the virus, he said it was to protect American jobs (which it doesn't do either since the applicants are already here, legally working while on temporary work visas).

And really, his base has no problem with legal immigrants that won Greencards in the lottery? A program that's purely designed to increase the diversity of people coming into the US? A program that Trump already threatened once to terminate and that republicans tried in 2017 to pass a bill to terminate?

Remember, the left is hiding behind Fauci and Birx  right now, and several other "advisors".  They are busily planting the seeds that will sprout into campaign talking points this summer and fall.

 This talking point? "Trump hates immigrants, and he used the virus to keep them out of the country".

 And speaking of talking points, has anyone been paying attention?  Notice the new MSM narrative against the protestors are "health care workers".  Yep, the MSM is showing pictures of people dressed in mask and scrubs "standing up against the protestors".   The narrative continues "Health care workers are placing their lives on the line while these deplorable protestors are trying to undo their work".

 Lots off those pics are staged.   Also notice the MSM has circulated a supposed pic from a Michigan protest showing a "Trump supporter with a swastika banner".........however that pic was taken at a Bernie rally.

Well De Blasio, (Warren Whilhelm) and the rest of the bed wetting Democrats are using this crisis purposefully to create the worst economy and situation the American public has seen since the Great Depression.  They are largely backed by the Medical Community who loves to preach Doom and Gloom and have themselves look to be the answer.
