So he gives a 30 minute speech to the American people "selling" why we need this.

In case you've missed it lately, people are super pissed off at congress for their inactivity.  Even your pal Paul Ryan is getting grief in his own district.   Other congressmen and senators are basically in hiding because of the backlash of them not producing a bill.

Now tell me how the president giving a speech is going to get congress to act in actually getting him a bill on his desk?
So you're really arguing against Trump giving an unfiltered address to the American people?  Because the status quo for the last 200 days is working so well, isn't it?  SMH

If only there was a means for the president, or Congressional leaders, to speak straight through to the American people, live, during the evening time slots. Hmmm. Oh yea, Reagan had his Oval Office speeches, Carter gave his fireside chats in his sweaters telling us to turn down the heat in our homes, etc.

Fast forward to the late 20th and early 21st centuries, and the Republicans have forgotten how to talk. Instead of telling the networks that he's having a 30-minute talk with the American people next Wednesday at 8:00pm EDT, and they can cover it if they want, and otherwise it would be steamed live to the world, Trump sends out fucking tweets. Likewise, McConnell has never had to sell anything to anyone, and Ryan limits his good auditory to news conferences surrounded by his fellow swamp creatures.

All any of the above would need to do is talk to the American people, speak about the importance of your positions, and SELL YOUR FUCKING CASE, and people will back them.

Instead, the GOP acts like the minority party even when they are in the majority. It's fucking maddening.

Pilot Zone / Flew the Fisk Approach in a Warbird

I completed a bucket list item last week with my first flight during AirVenture, and did it in our CAF Wisconsin Wing's Fairchild PT-26 Cornell.  I picked the right days to get in and out, so the approach was a piece of cake. I even got a straight in for runway 9.  After flying the Fisk with the extreme visibility of a Warbird,  I'm pretty confident I won't be flying it in a Cessna any time soon. What a blast.

Nearly half the Supreme Court believes the Constitution is a living, breathing document, and needs to be interpreted.  No.  It needs to be enforced, not interpreted with SJW goals in mind.
Hell, even John Fuckin' Roberts became the Legislative branch when he "interpreted" Obamacare's fines to be a tax.

So the SC makes a ruling and this District Court Judge can over rule the President and the SC?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4695392/U-S-judge-narrows-travel-ban-defeat-Trump.html
I read that. Didn't you know that the Constitution is a living, breathing document, and if one judge believes it's the right thing to do, a single judge can become the Judicial branch and the Executive Branch of the federal government?

Let's get with the program.

Fascism has now appeared in a black robe.

I don't even want to think about my next colonoscopy (next year) after it occurred to me they reuse that hose.

And MRSA, our neighbor got it and he wasn't even hospitalized. My friend had his leg amputated and he developed a MRSA infection in the stump. It was horrible. Of course his amputation wasn't elective cosmetic surgery...
Once I had to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy during the same procedure. To break the ice I asked if they could do the endoscopy first. Not many of them laughed.

Thanks. I only have 16 hours in her, and 30 tailwheel hours, so I'm relatively new to this. That being said, with its wide landing gear and 2,800# gross weight, the PT-26 is much easier to land than the Champ that I flew for my tailwheel endorsement.  But I'm not getting cocky by any means. My goal is to get into our SNJ after about another 100 tailwheel hours, so with they as my goal there's no room for getting comfortable.

Flew the Fisk Approach into OSH in the PT-26 on Saturday as practice for "hopefully" doing the same in the Big Show in three weeks.  Piece of cake, especially when there aren't 30 other planes merging with you at Ripon.   I wanted to get the sight picture of the route. My only disappointment was that I landed on runway 9 vs 27 with a four mile final. Not quite the same. I wanted to try my hand on hitting the orange dot.  Still it was a great flight.

Trump should be talking about what he's accomplished, and trying to accomplish in his Tweets.  That's it.
Totally agree. I'm irritated that some of his tweets put us conservatives on the defensive. There's no need for that. It's like the undisciplined football player who smacks a blocker who is getting the better of him right in front of the ref. No matter how irrelevant, it's going to get flagged.

He's got good policies and good plans - use the tools for that and leave the irrelevant peeons to their own irrelevancy.

I'm hoping Trump installed the fuselages and standard CRJ seating of two CRJ-200s side by side in the cargo hold to serve as seating accommodations for the White House press corps.

Fair enough.  While not a comedian, Ted Nugent comes to mind as an entertainer who says some pretty out-of-there stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNLmi0_216g

All that being said, Ms Griffin's stunt was, IMHO, way out of line.
Ted Nugent is an NRA Board Member and 2nd Amendment Activist, which is inherently political. The difference between Uncle Ted and Griffin is that he takes full responsibility for what he says, doesn't pretend to be the victim, and accepts the consequences of his actions.

She does none of those.

Provide them with enough resources to not force them into a life of crime, and opportunities for those who are able to become productive members of society to do so.

This has nothing to do with being altruistic or charitable, but acknowledging the fact that there are people who just has nothing to offer to society. Whether they are born incapable, rendered incapable, lazy or otherwise unmotivated, or have skills that are simply obsolete.

We've always had a society where there are individuals who do not contribute. We're always going to have that. We can chose to deal with them as criminals if we want, and confine them to prison or forced labor... but that costs the same as just supplying basic resources outright in the first place. If that even worked I would be all for it. But it doesn't.

In the end I just want to be left alone to live my life in peace. I don't want to be surrounded by people who have basic needs but not means - because that impacts my safety, and frankly my lifestyle. If that implies paying another 5% in taxes, then so be it. I'm either going to write them a check, or I'm going to write a check to someone else to protect me against them. But either way, they're not going to go away.
This is the biggest canard of all time. There are places around this country with more severe poverty than you will ever see in some inner cities.  Yet they aren't riddled with people committed to a life of crime. Look at rural Appalachia, Mississippi, and elsewhere.

So what "resources" do the poor need that they don't have today so as to prevent them from becoming habitual criminals?  More Obama phones?  More TVs?  More air conditioning?  Relax the food stamp rules so they can buy booze?

Your line of thinking is precisely why we are $20 trillion in debt, with no end in site to deficit spending so that politicians can say "Look, we did something. Now give me your vote."

25 Republicans, man they just cannot get out of their own way and actually focus on winning elections and governing the damn country.

Gonna be a while before I consider rejoining 'the grand old party', prevent defense playing morons.

'Gimp
The GOP excels as a minority party, but they suck big time as the majority party.

When good conservatives were running against entrenched, establishment, career GOP politicians (Mississippi, for example), the GOP establishment pulled out all the stops to crush area Party candidates in favor of establishment Blue Bloods.

Now in THIS case, they can't control the  number of candidates running for a stinking House seat?  Fucking morons.
