And this post, above many others, has truly underscored the real problem in our modern culture.  The one problem that if left to fester will result in ore destruction.

The problem: the mass polarization of our citizenship.

This is our internal danger.

Sent from my iPhone . Squirrel!!

So, this will lead to our destruction?
Well, I sure as hell know what the guy meant.  If you don't, I pity you.

Sent from my iPhone . Squirrel!!
Then perhaps you shouldn't make shit up, and add to our destruction. You are as guilty as anybody.

Words fucking matter.  Projection by the left of the most vile characteristics of racism, homophobia, and other hateful things upon half of the population that voted for someone they felt would lead us out of the malaise and perhaps support the Constitution is not a way to lead to unity as Americans.

In fact, I will bet the majority of people who voted for Trump did so to say a big "FUCK YOU!" to the politicians, the media, and the liberals who perpetuated such lies in order to retain political power. I know that was the case for me, when Clinton called my friends, and thus me, irredeemable deplorables.

Why don't you clean up YOUR house before bemoaning what someone else said about the left.

Good on the University LEO for ending the threat, taking only 3 shots to do so.

I presume all students will now have to try to cut their Salisbury Steak in the dining hall with a plastic knife from now on.

The link provided is a prime example of how a partisan can read whatever they want into a parsed-up quote.

Obama's remarks are simple: he'll give Trump room to govern without direct criticism. But he'll be happy to defend American ideals. This is no more or less than any of us would request. Anyone who has the ability to elevate themselves above blatant partisanship could accept that.
Which American ideals do you think Obama means?  Freedom of Speech?  Sure,  unless a non-profit makes a movie critical of a presidential candidate, in which case Obama felt emboldened to embarrass the Supreme Court, and his party's platform calls for a Constitutional Amendment to silence political speech?  That ideal?

How about the ideal of the right to keep and bear arms?  You know, the one where his party's platform calls for severe gun control measures, including renewal of an "assault weapon" ban?  That ideal?

Show me a democrat who can elevate themselves above blatant partisanship, and I'll show you a liar.

In other words, he'll do the same as others.
Prove it.  No more petulant, childish US president has existed in my lifetime.  Not one.

« on: November 18, 2016, 09:07:56 AM »
I'm not tired of the bickering. I'm just tired of politics for now. I know the bickering will be perpetual, especially given how unhinged the left has become over the prospect of a President Trump.

I've been flying more, and recently finished my checkout in our CAF Wing's PT-26. I'm enjoying turning on my Blackhawks in the evening instead of Fox News just to hear the latest attacks on Trump.

I'm optimistic on the future, especially given the cabinet positions that have been floated. I know he will disappoint me at some point, but so far so good.

I feel like Eisenhower on the eve of D-day. We will all have to affix bayonets on January 21st, but for now, all is well.

Spin Zone / Where's JeffDG?
« on: November 17, 2016, 11:23:04 AM »
JeffDG is alright. I was for Ted Cruz from day 1, and I think he supported Cruz also, but I could be wrong. I also pushed back against Trump from his entrance into the race, and was against him from Conservative and personality grounds. Both of those criticisms remain valid.

Jeff was as against Trump as lucifer was for him. Sometimes it got heated and ridiculous, but it was like that with lucifer and me as well.

Where we split, however, is that I left the never Trump movement once it was clear that Hillary the Criminal would escape her crimes for political expediency.

The split became a permanent divide when that bitch called my friends, and indirectly me, irredeemable deplorables. Well fuck her. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, so I began to support Trump. I didn't fund his campaign or have a yard sign, but I supported some of the things he stood for. And since his victory, I've been pleasantly surprised.

I will still hold his feet to the fire if he goes libtard on us, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt right now.

So, Jeff couldn't get there. So what. He usually raised valid points, though at the end it sounded counterproductive, as most never-Trumpers sounded at the end.

Soros has deep pockets.  And he funded the loss of Sheriff Joe.
Trump should make Sheriff Joe head if ICE, or the Southwest region of DHS. Would that not be the biggest "Fuck you" to Soros and his ilk?

Spin Zone / Re: Trump & Ryan
« on: November 11, 2016, 09:38:52 AM »
Good luck going anywhere near entitlement reform. I agree that it needs to happen but it's a political non-starter. The proverbial "third rail" of American politics. For effective entitlement reform to occur, a plan would have to be developed ahead of mentioning it to anyone (good luck with that as well) and then you'd need an excellent sales pitch. The Democrats are going to do everything they can do make it out to be terrible. Remember the commercial of Ryan pushing granny off the cliff? It'll be worse than that.
This is why Trump must work with Ryan. Trump said he wouldn't touch entitlements, but Ryan has a plan. If the GOP can't get entitlement reform done now, then we are truly financially doomed as a country.

Quit trying to change my post to reflect what you want it to say.  My post was very self explanatory.

Government is corrupt, no doubt.   The political parties aren't government, they are private organizations that place people in government.  And yes, they too are corrupt. The media is not a part of government, but they have shown corruption.

When an organization stoops to outright lies and manipulation of the voting process in order to promote their agenda and get their people into office, that is rigging and corruption. When a organization commits crimes against the country and uses a political operation and media to cover up these crimes, that is corruption.

When a candidate uses her position in government to sell access and trade away security, that my friend, is treason.
Well said.

Again, this is you guys, just on the other side. It's strange that you don't see that. Trump spent much of the election telling his supporters that if he lost it would be because the system is rigged. I guarantee you that if Hillary had won, we'd have a bunch of threads right here in Pilot Spin to the effect of: "I can't believe Hillary won. The system is rigged and needs to be fixed."
You think there would be riots and protests if Hillary won?  Do you think we would be having "cry circles" like they had at Cornell?  Do you think we would be pulling Hillary voters out of their cars and beating them?  Do you think we would be saying the same stupid childish shit that these Hillary voters are saying?  Do you think we would be saying that Trump should walk into the Supreme Court and sue the United States because the electoral college is unfair, like some protestors have said?

It's strange that you don't see the difference.

If it makes me an insensitive ass to laugh out loud at this so be it.

That is the dumbest fucking thing I have ever seen, how will the snowflakes function in the real world - 'I can't come to work today, the election has traumatized me'.

I want to heal the divide but that, that is just pathetic.

'Gimp
Trump's first executive decision should be to eliminate all "safe spaces" on college campuses, with a subordinate clause to reinstate formerly "offensive" team names, such as the Marquette Warriors and the North Dakota Fighting Sioux.

We are a nation of laws. It not only sets a terrible precedent but it sends the wrong message. It says that if you are among the "elite" in this country you can get away with felonies and it's alright. As I said in another thread, Trump can stay out of it by allowing Congress and a new Attorney General and Justice Department handle it.
I agree with this. She is still a criminal, who was only denied prosecution because of political expediency, and the false insertion  of "intent" into the statutes by Comey.

That was probably the best speech Trump has given thus far. Graceful and classy, he attempted to begin the healing last night. It was a great speech and I'm excited about the prospects going forward if he continues to act this way.
I'm sure Kelley Anne Conway wrote it. It was awesome. He should make her Chief of Staff. She was key to this win.

Not sure what to say to those here who said that the Republicans nominated the only person who could not beat Hillary.
I said that. I was clearly wrong. I didn't gauge just how pissed off the rest of the country was. Sometimes you think we are in such a minority that our pissed off attitude is narrow or unique. As a Tea Partier, I know what it's like to be marginalized.

I'm glad millions of my fellow citizens feel like me.
