Spin Zone / I’m Boycotting These Companies
« on: June 11, 2020, 11:22:23 AM »
All lives matter. But I’m being inundated with emails and ads from companies I’ve bought from or used in the past that insist on emailing me that black lives matter, accompanied by all of the bullshit reasons while ignoring that BLM is now the old Black Panthers. Fuck ‘em. I’m done, and have told them so.

1.  Under Armor
2.  Hedley & Bennett (makes aprons and other cooking stuff.  My wife is a chef.)
3.  Jameson Whiskey (seriously)
4.  National Football League
5.

Feel free to add to the list.

This is a great article, and it has a link to the actual transcript of the White House Press Conference where the comment was made.

Think about this the next time a liberal sends out the recent meme from Buttjiz about Trump’s “Total authority” comment.

Spin Zone / Hit Job on S.D. Governor Kristi Noem
« on: April 14, 2020, 01:09:36 PM »
“Noem has perhaps gone even further than others, however, citing the principle of individual liberty and the limitations of government to dictate people’s behavior — even when public health may depend on it.
Citing scientific modeling, the governor acknowledged this month that up to 70 percent of residents in her state may ultimately fall ill with covid-19. But, she suggested, it wasn’t up to government to tell them how to behave.”

Got forbid government rely on the people to protect themselves and each other.

Pilot Zone / Biden Veep Bonanza
« on: April 10, 2020, 09:02:30 AM »
I’m changing my thought process on this.

Given all the noise coming out of Michigan, including a new order prohibiting travel between two residences, I think Biden is going to pick the bat-shit crazy totalitarian Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

She may or may not be a radical socialist like some other candidates (I don’t know much about her), but she’s an authoritarian and tyrant, and I think that’s attractive to main stream democrat voters.

Pilot Zone / Lenticular Clouds
« on: March 23, 2020, 09:35:29 AM »
As pilots we know to stay clear of conditions that produce lenticular clouds, which usually form over mountains, else the ground will come up to smite us.

For us flatlanders, that experience comes from merely seeing a picture in a book, and perhaps a question on the private pilot written exam.

I often use Bing as my search engine, (1) because it’s not Google, and (2) they usually have cool pictures as their background.

Today’s Bing shows a loop with the formation of lenticular clouds over Mount Rainier.  Very cool stuff.

Spin Zone / Where are the Universities?
« on: March 23, 2020, 09:24:15 AM »
On Sunday I saw the Michigan Democrat governor complaining about the lack of test kits.  Elsewhere I’ve heard it’s not the lack of kits, but the lack of testing facilities.

Every state in the union has world class universities, with PhDs and some MDs doing research in many fields. They have an army of graduate assistants and undergraduate students helping in their efforts.

Why can’t that brain power and man power be used to develop test kits, or do the testing currently being done by labs, in order to help out their states and the country?

In WWII Singer Sewing Machine Company built M1911A1, the Sperry T-1 bomb sight, and B-29 instruments. Whirlpool built parts for P-40 Warhawks, tanks, and engines. Maytag built components for the B-17, B-26, B-29, and the P-51.

So universities can’t build test kits?

Spin Zone / This is What Tyranny Looks Like
« on: March 13, 2020, 01:07:40 PM »
The mayor of shit hole Champaign Illinois is using this corona virus to make a tyrannical power grab.

“Included in the executive order are ordinances that would give the city extraordinary powers to the Mayor.

Violating parts of the Open Meetings Act
Ban sale of firearms and ammunition
Ban sale of any alcohol
Closing of all bars, taverns, liquor stores, etc
Ban sale or giving away of gasoline or other liquid flammable or combustible products in any container other than a gasoline tank permanently fixed to a motor vehicle
Direct the shutoff of power, water, gas, etc
Take possession of private property and obtain full title to same
Prohibit or restrict ingress and egress to and from the City

Pilot Zone / Bought a Navion
« on: February 21, 2020, 01:40:50 PM »
A couple weeks ago I traveled with my IA to do a pre-buy on a Navion. Seller rejected my first offer last week, but came back yesterday with a counter, which I accepted. This will be my first and probably only aircraft. I’ll pick it up mid-March.  Not perfect timing for a CPA, but hopefully all will work out.

Edit: Crap! Didn’t mean for it to be in the SZ.  Should be in the Pilot Zone. I can’t change in on Tapatalk. Lucifer, can you move it for me?

Spin Zone / More NFL Virtue Signaling: Aluminum Cups
« on: February 01, 2020, 09:39:43 AM »
Apparently, recyclable aluminum cups are more “sustainable” than recyclable plastic cups?  Do they even hear themselves?

Don’t get me wrong. I like metal cups. But sustainable?

I can’t wait until they are used at every game. I wonder if some, say, Philly fans might just figure out that a few crushed aluminum cups make a hell of a projectile.
