This is awesome. I’m so glad Berkeley has resolved every other real problem and can now focus on minutiae like this.

Frist Rolling black outs
https://calmatters.org/environment/2020/08/california-2020-rolling-blackouts-explainer/

Now we need to tax our power grid more and only have electric cars.  And all new power plants need to be renewable/clean.  How can that go wrong.
You just can’t make this shit up.

Don't forget San Fran Nan, she's Catholic and "deeply" religious.......... ::)
I saw Pelosi make the sign of the cross in front of a memorial to RBG. It made me want to vomit.

Our Germans were better than their Germans.     ;D
About 5 years ago there was a TV series called Manhattan about the Manhattan project. It was really good.

In the show Oppenheimer was a real asshole.

Edit:  quick check showed he was an American, not a German.

ah... tough to pick up on that... it's always hard to pick up that stuff, even when posters are reasonably familar with each other.
Understood Bob. I don’t have green font on Tapatalk.

I’ve also been accused I should warn people when I’m making a joke because I have very dry humor. My humor is a little like Bob Newhart, who is also an accountant by the way. ;)

Yep. Most departments don't do any shooting training beyond range quals. The indicted cop should not have blindly shooting, if that's the case. But expect more of this type of incident if you decrease funding and don't get the proper training.
I trained at the FBI training center at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center back in the early 1990s.  The instructor was the head of FBI SWAT for the eastern half of the US.

Apparently a lot of local police forces did training and quals there.

He said the scariest part of his job was those days with LEOs that only shot their weapon once a year. He said muzzle discipline was terrible and dangerous.

um, how many rounds hit the shooter and how many rounds hit the unarmed woman?
Relax Bob, I was being a smart ass.

But I heard somewhere (not from the Kentucky AG) that the shooter used Taylor as a human shield. If so, that would make sense why she took 6 rounds and he took none.

Little known fact is that JFK felt the Apollo project had become a massive pork barrel and waste of tax payer dollars and he was going to propose a joint venture with the Russians to get to the moon.
I never heard that, and that would surprise the hell it of me. The Cold War was quite hot in the 1960’s, and I think the fundamental purpose of the space program was the militarization of space, not just pure scientific exploration. I’d be shocked if he would have ceded some of our progress in space to the Soviet Union.

I’m not doubting you, just surprised.

Yep. And 21 shots from multiple people is 1-2 seconds of shooting. And the data I have seen, in the majority of shootings, only 1 round out of 5 hits the target.
So the Louisville Police had 28.57% of their rounds hitting the target vs a 20% average. Good shooting!

You and I must have a very different definition of better.

Trump makes a pretty good president, a great real estate investor, a lousy politician and an even worse man. He is belligerent and demeaning to anyone who disagrees with him, he almost should be a Democrat.
Maybe we just have a very different definition of a man.

How many "no knock" warrants do cops serve in the middle of the night to white folks?  Had it been white lady would they been quite as quick to pump bullets into her in her own damn home?
For an educator you sure don’t educate yourself. Ironic.

Spend 8 minutes listening to the Kentucky AG describe the facts of the case. They did knock. They did announce. He shot at and hit the LEO before the LEOs fires back.

Oh, and grow the fuck up.

I’ve come to believe over the last 3 years that Trump is a better man than Romney ever hoped he would be. And I’m not talking about better politician. He’s not. But he’s a better man.
[/quote
I agree with that completely,

But I believe John McCain (may he rest in peace) was even worse.
I totally agree. Vengeful little man should have retired long ago, but I believe he wanted to die while in office, as many politicians do. Lying in state and all that crap.

I had a medical procedure last year that had a 2% chance of serious complications, and did it anyway. I’ll risk a 0.005 chance of dying of Covid if it means getting on with my life.
