in the first or second sentence the "reporter" states that the Republicans raised "unsubstantiated allegations against" ...

um, I wonder if the geniuses at AP understand that investigating claims by a whistleblower isn't raising "unsubstantiated allegations"...

Sometimes the purpose of a hearing is to try to determine facts...

The Chief of the Office of Possibility will make $160,000

It used to be called synchronized swimming, not it's called artistic swimming.  And now men will be competing in the "sport" in the next year's summer olympics.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

I thought I was reading babylonbee and/or it's April 1, but nope, it was the stalwart of journalistic integrity AP.

I was curious if any US president had been elected to a 2nd term after being defeated the first time he ran for re-election.

Apparently only one... Grover Cleveland.

A democrat, but doesn't sound like the democrats today.

Spin Zone / Method to count "covid deaths" changed once again
« on: April 07, 2023, 04:42:23 AM »
In March 2022, Massachusetts changed how it counted deaths due to covid-19.  And corrected the total count.

Previously, anyone who died of natural causes (as listed on the death certificate) was counted as a covid death if they had tested positive for covid-19 in the previous 60 days.  It was changed to 30 days, and about 3800 deaths were removed for the total.

Now, as 1 April 2023 (ironically), the new definition relies almost exclusively on the cause of death listed on the death certification and applies to deaths occurring as of April 1, 2023.  Interesting that they won't go back and correct the data.

(1984 comes to mind...)
