Okay, so my mind works in weird ways.
What if a President issued an EO saying the Constitution as null and void and proclaiming themself as sole leader?
What would be the response? How long for the courts to take any kind of action and what would they be able to do!
Is this hypothetical enough for everyone.

If you watch any conservative news outlet you see the videos of the rioting, the looting, etc. We know the left is turning a blind eye to all of this and the Soros DAs are turning these criminals back out on the street.
Here is my philosophy on this. As bflynn would say YMMV.
If you want a true authoritarian, read Communist, society you have to start somewhere. Ginning up all this violence serves a purpose and a means to the end. As the violence spreads and increases, at some point either the populace will cry out for a solution and if not then the Government, Democrats will just come forward and say, "this is out of hand and we can fix it, but you have to allow us to have supreme authority to do it." What good leftist is going to oppose that?
Once they feel they have been given the green light, the cracks downs will begin and the very people they relied on the make it happen will pay the ultimate price for doing so. The populace will be happy as can be that the Government has fixed the problem. Of course then, they will need to appropriate massive amounts of money from the populace to fix all that was broken and the end they hoped for will have been achieved.
