I will revise my statement to say: It ought to be illegal for them to vote on it without having read it. I think that’s what I meant to say in the first place.  :)

How would you check that?  I do wonder if staff members are required to read certain portions and then they get together and compile a report of troubling things they find.  Of course, that would only be Republican staff members, Democrats will just vote yea no matter what.

The $3.5T bill that is going to be done under reconciliation, I'm have trouble figuring out if that is extraneous or part of the "budget" process. Anyone here know for sure?

The lines are so blurred these days as there is no real budget anymore. Done on purpose, of course, so we the people cannot really figure WTH is going on.

OK, shall some others here come back and post their personal experience?   Wanna hear about the various people I know that have or had covid and it was a mild cold to a flu like symptom?
Son, DIL and two sons all had it around Christmas time. Fairly mild, no one hospitalized. Oldest son brought it home from a friends house where a group gathered to play D&D. Several folks at church had it, not picked up at church as we weren't having in person services. One is a teacher, she had a lingering recovery but is doing well. The other three ninety-seven year old Mother, her son and DIL all had mild cases, not sure if it was pre or post vaccine. Most recently my two chapter friends, not vaccinated, both were hospitalized, both sent home after several days with oxygen and are recovering.

Can't think of any others right now.

Another nephew's girlfriend, around 27 Don't know her vaccine status.
My sister's ex-brother-in-law, on a ventilator.   50 ish.Not vaccinated,  Had and recovered from throat cancer 3 years ago.
My other sisters son-in-law, Army Special Forces, 30ish.  Vaccinated. In hospital with nasal cannula.

Local friends or acquaintances:
Marc Bernier, anti-vax radio personalilty.

George Mirabal, 85 yr old Rotary friend, fully vaccinated.  Hospitalized, may not recover.  (Also his wife but she is recovering at home but I don't know her).

Chase Tramont, City Commissioner.  No-comorbididties.  Was a local basketball hero here in the '90s.  I have never met him other than to say hello, but I have been to two events where he was in attendance and had mutual friends.  His wife "doesn't want to talk about his vaccine status).  He is off the oxygen mask and recovering, but still needs an oxygen cannula.

How can I NOT take this seriously?
Not sure anyone here has said not to take it seriously. I do not think it takes a whole lot of work to stay clear and still live a normal life.

Powerful, and true.

And it should bother anyone with any critical thought process as to why big tech and the government view this with such contempt.  I will guarantee this doctor is now getting death threats, being harassed, probably having any social media he's on cancelled, and will now be audited by the IRS and have a DEA audit of his prescriptions.

But the virtue signalers will try to tell us the government knows best, and Big Pharma only wants to help.
I would pass this along as a part of the conversation. I've been known to go looking for alternative viewpoints.

It should be illegal to pass a Bill they haven’t published for the public to read.

Someone on Twitter put something about there being some provision for martial law in the infrastructure bill. A quick search did not turm up anything. Anyone else care to try?

Personally, I've never believed COVID is a hoax. My wife and have lived our lives, including eating out and going to the movies. We do take precautions when we're out, washing hands, not getting face to face with folks, etc. This can be avoided, without crazy precautions, masks all the time, etc.  I managed to survive being in a car with a known positive COVID person.

Can anyone here say what the stated goal of the government is for COVID?

I know too many folks that have been vaccinated and have ended up positive. Seems a bit odd for something that is so effective. My SIL is the most recent.

Do you like it? Maybe there’s a difference in brand or something. The only thing I like about it is it can double as more flat countertop. But I’d give that up in a heartbeat for gas.

Yes, we do like it. We've kept it clean and it does a good job. I believe it is Kenmore and is a slide in cooktop oven combo.

We've been using a glass cooktop for twenty-four years now. Had to have one element replaced many years ago.

At the age of sixty I was offered a very nice package to go bye-bye. I looked around a bit and didn't really find anything of interest. We adjusted our budget accordingly to make the money in the package last while I made the trek to sixty-two.  Wife had been on disability for years so she was already drawing from Uncle. We're not rich, by any means, but are enjoying time with each other. Just passed ten years retired and would not change that at this point.

If your own doctor won’t do it, find an osteopath or naturopath to up your odds of getting a prescription. You will need a consultation. They don’t prescribe it willy nilly.

In the meantime, get Ivermectin paste for horses in the equine section of the feed store. There are videos and links all over the internet about how to calculate a human dose based on your body weight. Since you (Eppy) already have a positive diagnosis, it might help you improve until you can get a prescription.

That’s what I did. Haven’t decided yet whether to use it for prevention or only if I become ill with Covid.

Just saw the post from jb1842. That’s the brand I got.

Actually, I do not have a positive diagnosis. I tested negative nearly two weeks ago now, never had any symptoms and am far enough out now to not worry.  My wife and I did attend a concert in Nashville at the Ryman Wednesday night and the place was packed, as was Nashville in general.  I did see a chapter member post on our slack account that he was taking it as a prophylactic.

Well he never called, and you cannot go there in person because covid. This book says that customer satisfaction with social security on the phone is way less than face to face meetings.

Anyway there might be hope. Turns out I looked at the wrong dates and it didn’t go down as much as I thought but it did go down.

And I tried to read the rules how they calculate your benefit but can’t make sense of it.  I’ll finish this book and then read another one I got and report back if I figure it out.

Wait until you are on SS and try to figure out how much of it you will have to pay taxes on.
