No I did not yet but I had a couple things come up. First I had a molar drilled down and a temporary put on and didn’t want to feel sick from the second shot so I wanted to get past that. Then, I got a retina detachment last week and had a laser procedure. That has me traumatized. Have you ever had hot lasers burn the back of your eyeball repeatedly for fifteen minutes? Fun. No way in hell I’m going to voluntarily make myself feel sick while I’m still decompressing from that.

I’m under instructions to look for this and that symptom and come in on an emergency basis if needed. So again, I don’t want to get the second shot and be feeling like shit and have to go deal with more retina welding. It’s very fatiguing. So now I’m going to wait til my followup next week to see what the eye doctor says. Only if it looks real stable and she says I’m likely safe from more detachment will I consider getting the second shot. I still need to go back for my crown too.

I’ve been getting messages that I’m due for it but I’m ignoring them. I still haven’t decided for sure if I’ll even get it. If I get covid now, the odds I’ll need hospitalization or die are extremely low. I’m kind of not seeing the point. Only my fear that we are going to end up being banned from flying if not “fully” vaccinated has me considering it, because mom is 94 and if she dies I’m going to have to fly back east in a hurry. I want to avoid any “imperial entanglements”, if you’re nerd enough to get that.
