Apropos of nothing special, but what’s up with men wearing fingernail polish?

Do women find that hot?

Clear or colored?

BHO's library is a study in grifting.  $850m flushed already, and more to go before the Garbage Can monument is completed.

But Bathhouse Barry and Big Mike have made out handsomely over it's construction.  Of course now that he and Big Mike are inconsequential, that money train will dry up.

Money laundering writ large. Needs an investigation.

14 Oct, I received a letter claiming to be from Aetna directing me to scan a QR code to read the annual notice of change.  It has all the appearance of actual correspondance from Aetna...... except the url they want the reader to use is aet.na/readmyanoc.  I don't know what payload the qr code has.

extra points if you know the .na top-level domain without googling it.

just a heads-up for us old folks on medicare.

guess Nigeria?

And I'm thankful for them.

Be greedy when others are fearful, be fearful when others are greedy

I was just a huge Woody Allen fan back in the day, and some of those movies, especially “Annie Hall” were based on their real life romance. Keaton’s actual birth name was Hall, but she changed it to her mother’s maiden name when she got into acting because there was already another actress named Diane Hall.

They had broken up by the time they made that film but remained good friends and collaborators on several movies. That always fascinated me.

AH was the first "date" movie I saw, perhaps that's why DK's persona as Annie in that film (which is apparently very close to her "real life" personality) resonates with me. Never realized until many years later that my date was Jewish and I'm as white bread as they come. Politics/religion not even on my radar at the time. Much later I had a girlfriend who exhibited many AH traits.

It's rare that a celeb death affects me. But in this case, I'm saddened. Not really a gushing fan (of anyone) but I always thought she was "neat", and I'm as Conservative as they come.

My property tax is going down significantly due to our new senior homestead exemption increases.  Will not be paying school tax now.

Maybe a GA move is in my future....

Florida, zero income tax. After living here 5 years, that's more than made up in higher electric and insurance costs (and I'm central/no coastal-flood zone). Real estate and sales tax is a wash vs Pennsylvania, where I lived prior.

For now.  I do think that some sort of warp technology that bends space will someday be possible to permit interstellar travel.  The bigger thing is that we're not that interesting.  We really don't have anything that some alien race would want.  Unless of course we taste like chicken.

I think they would just come here to point and laugh.

We are entering a brave new world where it will be nearly impossible to discern between actual reality and manufactured reality. If there is no trust, the society will break down.

Perhaps this is one of the postulated "Great Filters" that keep intelligent species in the Universe from passing a certain level of discoverable or space-faring technological evidence of their existence.
