Instrument equipped RV-4/RV-6 or Thorpe T-18 - fun, practical (enough), and the Thorpe's can usually be had pretty cheap.

'Gimp

Yea, but then you'd have to tell ATC that you're a Thorpe.   ;)

Hey, with 100 posts I'm now a "Full member"!  Does that give me voting rights?

Only if you vote early and often.

Ummm... That's a painting, not a photograph.

You serious?! Wow,  fooled me!

While it's true that 200+ years ago religion seems to have played a bigger role in everyday life for people, the truth is today the consequences of world leaders actions is far more dire than it was back then. Back then, if a king or president decided to go to war based on prayer, the worst that could happen is that leader could lose his position, or his government, or his country, but today a bad decision to go to war could cost us all of humanity.

The cold war has been over so long, that people seem to think extinction by nuclear war is a thing of the past. It is still a very real and present danger. It is actually pretty scary how limited an exchange has to be to end our time on this planet.

I feel sorry for people who believe they are the highest power in the Universe.

The modern LEO so often, simply makes things worse. Instead of dealing with the situation like an adult, he chose to deal with it like a thug. Sorry if that offends the sensibilities of those who think government is the final authority on all things, but escalating a BS problem like a freaking phone in a freaking classroom, is as stupid as beating a motorist because they refuse to act sufficiently meek.
The idea that adults can;t act like adults it the real problem, not a spoiled, stupid brat.

Agreed.

Your bigotry is so showing

Are you talking to me?

If and when a commander in chief must decide whether or not to launch a war, I'd prefer that decision be made using logical analysis based on the best available information. As opposed to what Revelations foretells or what a voice in his or her head tells them to do while on their knees.

If that's bigotry, then so be it.

Can we cut the distractions? What about the issue?  Are you saying that because this particular article cites her that the issue isn't credible?  There are tons of others.
http://www.inquisitr.com/1428491/cdc-whistleblowers-claims-cause-uproar-in-autism-community/

Massive studies were done on the link between the MMR vaccine and autism - CDC; American academy of Pediatrics; National Academy of Sciences, and the UK National Health Service.  All found no link between the vaccine and autism.

So why should we waste our time about the allegation that the Government is using vaccines to give BLACK children autism?

If the link doesn't exist, why should we buy into the racial aspect of this conspiracy theory?

Is there a special mixture that doctors make sure only blacks receive? Are there marking on the syringe? What if they screw up? Can Whitey sue?

probably a few people need to understand what the Executive branch is responsible for and what the Legislative branch is responsible for.
Unfortunately there's little difference as of late

Has someone changed the Constitution?

Well, we have an Executive who thinks that Congress not acting gives him the authority to do it anyway (DAPA)

I thought this country was founded by "WE THE PEOPLE", not "ME THE PREZ."

Congrats, I guess. Of course, you can vote for whomever you wish in the general. I still contend that a libertarian vote in the general is a vote for the democrat nominee.

It always is.

We need to encourage the left leaning members to come too.

Why, they'll just try and silence everyone here too.

The debate is over!
Without the left, it's a circle jerk, not a debate.  ;)

So Leftist run sites that discourage conservative representation are circle jerks; thanks for pointing that out.

As far as deniers, we have sixty degree weather on Christmas in Ohio. Nothing normal about that.

LOL!  Great scientists base their findings on one data point that is obviously just a weather anomaly.  Let's see when tomorrow is 30F then will you blame that on us DENIERS also?  Just the fact that you use the term "Denier" tells me you got nothin.  I remember a dictator in the not too distant past convinced an entire population that Juden were demons.

Henning was a dictator?

;)

No, just a Dic.

So I hear this "this person is a hypocrite because they say they believe in climate change and...".  Al Gore is the most frequent target of this kind of ire.

Says me, what are they supposed to do? Live in a shack and eat shit?  Ford is a big time movie star, cuts not like he can just fly commercial.

I walk the walk.  Yeah, I fly an airplane, but mine gets better mileage than a lot of cars. I walk to work, and on those rare occasions when I actually drive I either use a very efficient vehicle or a motorcycle.

I don't think big time celebrities can do what I do.  I know for a fact that Gore does what he can to offset his rather large CO2 footprint.  It is very possible Ford does as well.  But I am not in big hurry to jump down their throats. Celebrity gives one limitations.

As far as deniers, we have sixty degree weather on Christmas in Ohio. Nothing normal about that.

The record warm Christmas for Chicago was in 1982:  64 degrees.

The record low Christmas for Chicago was in 1983:  -17 degrees.

I remember the latter because I was married one month earlier.  I had to remove the batteries from my wife's and my cars and bring them in the apartment so the car would start the next day.

Nothing normal about an 81 degree swing between two years.

Weather happens.

But, but, but,....Carbon Emissions cause instability...!!!

LMFAO. Define "normal."

Weather is not climate. Also, growing up outside of NYC I have a distinct memory - I was probably 13 - of a school Christmas break where we went outside without coats. This in the early 70's , before anyone ever heard of "Global Warming", AlGore, or FatBastard Moore.

Nor the "Coming Ice Age."

Spin Zone / Re: Why is unemployment so high?
« on: December 30, 2015, 07:24:03 PM »
There are plenty of jobs available.  But there are not enough qualified people.
Part of the reason (a big part) that I sold my business and retired was that it was so difficult to find qualified workers with a good work ethics, no matter how much I offered.

http://www.businessinsider.com/hr-professionals-finding-it-difficult-to-recruit-new-hires-2015-11

eta:  By "unemployment so high", I am talking about workforce participation, and all the low paid positions.  I never could find sufficient people to hire that would have warranted the higher wages.

What kind of business was this? In high tech  I hear the same song but it comes down to bean counters not wanting to pay for domestic talent when they can hire "contractors" from Bangalore, BOGO.

The most despicable thing about this election is the presumption that Hellery is "owed" the Presidency and the next 12 months is just a trailer for the fait accompli.
