Agovernment shutdown is imminent, but Republican messaging on the reason for the spending standoff is inconsistent thanks to the Senate GOP, which plans to greenlight the Biden administration’s cash infusion.
If Democrats get their way, Congress will send at least $13 billion taxpayer dollars to Ukraine, something a majority of U.S. taxpayers say they don’t want to do, and spend another estimated $27 billion cash on unspecified “emergency funding.”
Some GOP members in the lower chamber have pledged to do everything they can to ensure they are not funding a regime that weaponized itself against its own people.
The House Freedom Caucus specifically warned in August that its members won’t support a GOP-led continuing resolution unless both chambers agree to cut back Biden administration spending, pass policies and funding to curb the raging border crisis, punish the Biden regime for its “unprecedented weaponization of the Justice Department and FBI,” and end blank check funding for Ukraine.
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy expressed hesitation about their plan because, according to him, a government shutdown means a pause on “investigations and everything else” like Republicans’ impeachment inquiry, which he says “hurts the American public.”
McCarthy’s dilemma sounds like a recipe for disappointment. His feelings about the Democrats’ spending plan, however, are no match for the Senate GOP’s flat refusal to do anything that would benefit its constituents and unify Republican messaging.
The Senate GOP has an opportunity to force Democrats’ hand by using the threat of a government shutdown to pass policies that would slow or even stop the Biden administration’s destructive streak.
Instead, Republican leaders in the upper chamber are using their influence to eviscerate House Republicans for daring to oppose the Biden administration’s spending wish list.
While Democrats’ big-buck desires will be readily fulfilled if Republicans sign off on their plan, the GOP is stuck trying to sell keeping the federal government open as the one prize they can take from the negotiating table.
“The speaker and the president reached an agreement, which I supported, in connection with raising the debt ceiling, to set the spending levels for next year,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a speech in Kentucky shortly before he experienced yet another zoning out episode. “The House then turned around and passed spending levels that were below that level. … [T]hat’s not going to be replicated in the Senate.”
McConnell ally Sen. John Cornyn, who is rumored to be in the running to eventually replace the Senate GOP Leader, repeated this sentiment on X on Monday.
“The federal government will shut down in less than a month unless a funding bill is passed by Sept. 30. That’s only 16 legislative days away (and even fewer for the House) under the current schedule. The House and Senate are in completely different universes when it comes to how lawmakers should fund federal agencies in both the short and long term,” Cornyn wrote.
The Senate GOP’s staunch refusal to force a Democrat reconciliation with crises created by their president and his administration means Republicans are playing right into Democrats’ hands.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer admitted as much in a Sept. 1 letter to his Democrat colleagues.
“We cannot afford the brinkmanship or hostage-taking we saw from House Republicans earlier this year when they pushed our country to the brink of default to appease the most extreme
members of their party,” he wrote.
Schumer claimed the “only way to avoid a shutdown is through bipartisanship,” aka with the cooperation of spineless Senate Republicans. His hope is that the House GOP will simply cave to upper chamber pressure and “follow the Senate’s lead and pass bipartisan appropriations bills.”
The White House similarly signaled that the Senate GOP’s cooperation means a government shutdown could be blamed on “extreme House members.”
“The last thing the American people deserve is for extreme House members to trigger a government shutdown that hurts our economy, undermines our disaster preparedness, and forces our troops to work without guaranteed pay,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said in a statement.
Nothing would make the MAGA-hating coalition of McConnell-esque Republicans more happy than to see their House colleagues shoulder the blame for the shutdown while they fulfill their Ukraine funding fantasies.
Senate GOP leaders have already proven they are more than willing to sacrifice their voters to stay in Democrats’ good graces. Their track record suggests they are merely Democrats’ managed opposition instead of true opponents of the radical left.
In just the last two years, GOP senators joined forces to throw Republican Senate races, join Democrat-led attacks on the Second Amendment, dogpile their colleague for fighting the Biden administration’s taxpayer-funded abortion for all agenda, continue funding the federal agencies persecuting Americans including the leader of their party, do nothing about bombshell evidence of Biden family corruption, and refuse to condemn Democrats’ 2024 election rigging indictment scheme.
If House and Senate Republicans don’t take action now, they risk enabling the Biden administration’s attacks on its country, citizens, and the Constitution. Unfortunately, the Republicans running the GOP side of the Senate don’t care.
If you are shocked and bewildered that totalitarian tyranny creeps through our country without opposition, the reason is simple: there is no official opposition. The capture of government looks nearly complete by a party that lusts to punish its citizens for the pleasure of watching them suffer, while it steals everything they’ve worked for and forecloses their future. At least half the country objects to this. Where is a party that stands for them?
In the natural order of the American system, a Republican Party would have stepped up to check the wretched excesses of a Democratic Party bent on breaking everything that has allowed people to thrive in this land: property law, economic liberty, free speech, now even your physical health. This Labor Day Monday is the last moment in this epic political psychodrama that the Republican Party has an excuse to kick back and do nothing about the parade of insults flung in the nation’s face by persons who believe in nothing, and who will stop at nothing.
These insults lately include especially the perversion of law to harass and hinder political opponents, the prosecution of a foreign war by proxy in a corner of the world where America has no explicable national interest, the deliberate failure to defend the country’s borders against hordes of invaders, the rigging of elections with ballot fraud and hackable machines, the censorship of information of all kinds, and the weaponization of public health authority against the people. These are all campaigns carried out by the Democratic Party.
This fall season will be a dreadful time of testing whether the country can endure any more of this. Congress is back in session this week. Congress is the only place in the federal government where an opposition party has the authority to direct events. Mr. Comer who chairs the House Oversight Committee has assembled enough evidence of bribery and treason for Speaker Kevin McCarthy to commence an impeachment inquiry right away into the conduct of President “Joe Biden.”
I’ve used quotation marks around Mr. Biden’s name since he ascended magically to this office in 2021 because it is obvious that he is only pretending to run the executive branch, and has been since day one on January 20, 2021. His March 5, 2020, Super Tuesday victories, after a drubbing in the Iowa Caucuses (4th place) and New Hampshire primary (5th place), had an odor of supernatural contrivance. His campaign from “the basement” was a joke, and it’s still entirely possible, despite three years of massive gaslighting, that his victory in the 2020 election was a fraud.
I believe the reason “Joe Biden” was installed in the White House was to allow Barack Obama to run the executive branch and all its agencies in secret from his headquarters across town in the DC Kalorama district, and the reason he is allowed to do this is because the Democratic Party has committed so many crimes against the country that a tremendous effort had to be made to cover them up, or else scores of figures in high places could have been subject to investigation and prosecution, including Mr. Obama.
It’s also possible that an impeachment inquiry in the House will lead to evidence of Mr. Obama’s role in the Biden family’s bribery adventures abroad, including the participation in one way or another of high diplomatic officials under Mr. Obama such as US Ambassadors to Ukraine Jeffrey Pyatt and Marie Yovanovitch — as well as their nefarious roles in the first impeachment of Donald Trump. Expect former Secretary of State John Kerry to surface in that mix, too. His stepson, Christopher Heinz was in business for a time with Hunter Biden and Devon Archer during the Burisma caper.
You might hear a lot about the coming fiscal year 2024 spending crisis again starting this week. It must be resolved by the end of the month or the government supposedly runs out of money to pay for all the things that government wastes our money on, from underwriting drag-queen story hours to paying the pensions of retired Ukrainian government officials. Wouldn’t that actually be a fine opportunity for some vigorous de-funding of government activities, such as the DOJ’s special prosecutor operation, Homeland Security’s censorship office, every dollar apportioned to Ukraine, the FBI’s continuing Jan 6 witch-hunt, the Department of Health and Human Services Covid-19 hoodoo, and probably a hundred other trespasses against the public’s sense of decency and good faith?
Or else, isn’t the country ripe for a new party that actually represents the interests of the country? More than a year remains before the 2024 election — if it is even allowed to happen. We can’t go on with no party opposed to the degeneration and destruction of the thing known as the USA. Take this final day-off of the summer to think about that. And think about the emblematic frozen face of Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell, a human deer-in-the-headlights waiting to collide with an implacable force. You are that force.
Every year since 1958, the West Texas town of Sweetwater has hosted the World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup, which is exactly what it sounds like. Thousands of the venomous ophidians are rooted out of their dens and brought to the Nolan County Coliseum to be gawked at, “milked,” and often beheaded and skinned. It started as a way for the region to rid itself of some of its least-welcome residents. Now community leaders wish they could do the same with several giant piles of scrap that have for too long been left to bake in the sun. But that’s proving to be much trickier than wrangling reptiles.
About forty miles west of Abilene on Interstate 20, Sweetwater has unwittingly become home to what is possibly the world’s largest collection of unwanted wind turbine blades. When forklifts deposited the first of these in a field behind the apartment complex where Pamala Meyer lives, on the west side of town, in 2017, she wasn’t initially bothered. But then the blades—between 150 and 200 feet in length and mostly made of composite materials such as fiberglass with a binding resin—kept coming. Each was cut into thirds, with each segment longer than a school bus. Thousands arrived over several years, eventually blanketing more than thirty acres, in stacks rising as high as basketball backboards. Every few dozen feet, a break among the stacks leads into an industrial hedge maze.
“It’s just a hazard all the way around,” Meyer said. She worries about neighborhood children exploring the unfenced piles and says that stagnant pools of water inside the blades breed swarms of mosquitos. Matt Jackson, who works in a nearby warehouse, has other concerns. The piles create shaded nooks and crannies, perfect for Sweetwater’s unofficial mascot. “It’s just a big rattlesnake farm,” he said.
The blades were brought here by Global Fiberglass Solutions, a company based in Washington State that announced in 2017 its intention to recycle blades from wind farms across the region. Instead of ending up in landfills, they would be ground up into a reusable material that could be turned into pallets, railroad ties, or flooring panels. Global Fiberglass is one of a few companies attempting to develop a viable business from recycling blades.
Besides the main boneyard—behind Meyer’s apartment—stacks of blades also occupy ten acres a couple miles south of town, and the company is storing blades in other locations in the county. “They have, in my view, abandoned them there,” said Samantha Morrow, the Nolan County attorney. “The county doesn’t have and cannot find millions of dollars to clean this up.”
The Sweetwater piles are also at least partly the indirect result of a rule clarification the Internal Revenue Service issued in 2016. Before then, a wind farm could collect valuable federal tax credits for only its first ten years of operation. But the IRS determined that it would restart the clock on the credits if a wind farm “repowered” its turbines—replacing most of their equipment with newer parts. So, despite the expected two-decade lifespan for turbine blades, wind farms across Texas and other states began replacing many that remained in good shape years early.
Some paid Global Fiberglass to remove the older blades and haul them away. The company set up shop in an empty industrial facility in Sweetwater that was once an aluminum recycling plant, but Don Lilly, the managing director of Global Fiberglass, told me that only a handful of blades have ever been ground up there. He said the company was close to ramping up and would soon mill the blades into pieces the size of coarse sand. “The blade material is sold,” he said, “but I can’t go into that part yet.”
Sweetwater has heard such pledges before. The county declared the stockpile a public nuisance a year ago. City attorney Jeff Allen said Sweetwater’s local ordinances are aimed at overgrown lots, not turbine blades, leaving the city with limited legal options. He said he believes Global Fiberglass “intended to be a viable business” but at some point “it just came off the rails.” (Lilly disputes this and says the delays have come from ensuring “all systems were engineered.”)
Sweetwater benefits from the wind-energy industry, including two large wind farms nearby. Drivers arriving on I-20 from either direction are welcomed by a giant wind turbine blade painted with the town’s name. But even the community’s biggest boosters of renewable energy long ago ran out of patience with Global Fiberglass’s mess. “We’d like to see them gone,” said Karen Hunt, director of the local chamber of commerce. “The sooner the better.”
Sweetwater isn’t the only place Global Fiberglass has stockpiled blades. It has a total of 1,300 in Newton, Iowa, and two other cities in that state, according to the state’s Department of Natural Resources. After an investigation, the agency concluded in 2021 there was no recycling going on, nor was any likely to happen. It declared the company to be running an unpermitted dump.
Frank Liebl, executive director of the Newton Development Corporation, testified at a state hearing that the initial excitement in 2017 of recruiting a blade-recycling company soon soured. In the intervening years, he asked Global Fiberglass many times when it would begin its recycling. He always got “the same answer: ‘Soon,’ ” he said.
By July 2021, the company owed more than $1 million in unpaid rent in Newton, according to testimony at the Iowa hearing from its landlord’s attorney. In Texas, it failed to pay taxes to Nolan County in 2020 and is now three years in arrears, according to tax records. Last year, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality fined the company $10,255 for what it described as illegally stored solid waste. It allowed the company to pay the penalty in monthly installments for three years. In June, Global Fiberglass defaulted, according to the commission.
In Newton, pressure from the state of Iowa seems to have worked. Craig Armstrong, a city employee, said that General Electric recently acquired the blades. It’s unclear whether GE purchased them from Global Fiberglass or from the landlord who was owed the $1 million in rent, who may have taken possession of the blades. The city was promised that they would be sent to a recycling center by the end of the year, although none had been removed by mid-August, according to a Newton city official.
Lilly declined to talk about the Iowa blades. He said the situation in Sweetwater is different and insists that Global Fiberglass will grind down and recycle these blades. “If you come back nine months from now, you will not see the material,” he said. We’re marking our calendars and will check back in May.
On Tuesday, The Gateway Pundit broke a BLOCKBUSTER REPORT on 2020 voter fraud in Michigan.
The investigation had been buried by politicians, government investigators and the press.
On October 8, 2020, only one month before the 2020 general election, Muskegon, MI City Clerk Ann Meisch noticed a black female, whose name was later redacted from the police report, dropping off between 8,000-10,000 completed voter registration applications at the city clerk’s office. Clerk Meisch immediately noticed that the stacks of registrations included the same handwriting, non-existent addresses, and incorrect phone numbers.
The Muskegon Police Department was contacted and asked to investigate. On 10/21/20 First Lieutenant Mike Anderson was contacted by Tom Fabus, Chief of Investigations for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s Office. According to the MI State Police report, Fabus asked for Michigan State Police assistance with a joint investigation of alleged voter fraud being conducted by the Muskegon Police Department and the AG.
An investigative task force was formed, and an investigation was initiated.
During their investigation, the state police discovered the women worked for GBI Strategies. This was included in their police report. The group had temporary offices in numerous Michigan locations. The police also identified Gary Bell as the head of the organization.
When the police inspected the GBI Strategies office near Muskegon they found semiautomatic guns, silencers/suppressors, burner phones, a bag of pre-paid cash cards, and incomplete registrations, in an office space that was styled as an eyeglasses store that had gone defunct.
There were never any arrests. And the investigation was turned over to the FBI where it went to die, just like all of the other Democrat voter fraud investigations. Back in November 2020 Bill Barr appointed a notorious DOJ attorney who covered up voter fraud crimes.
There has always been unanswered statistical irregularities about absentee ballots from the 2020 election. These irregularities suggest massive, systemic, voter fraud among absentee ballots. Viewing the percentage of the vote each candidate won from absentee voters precinct by precinct, one can see a very suspicious correlation between the candidates in 2020 that does not exist in 2016. This suggests there was major electronic manipulation of votes combined with the physical ballots placed to back up those fraudulent votes.
There is no argument that Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a far-left Democrat, sent out absentee ballot requests without a legal request on file to every voter. There is no argument that Benson then used illegal interpretations of the law to presume that all voter signatures were a ‘match’ between the signatures on file and the ones on the ballots, even when they didn’t match.
Using COVID as the pretext, Democrats set the stage for scores of absentee ballots that would never receive scrutiny as to whether they were valid or not.
And even if some illegal ballots were caught by challengers or honest poll workers, most challenged ballots in left-wing jurisdictions were routinely ignored. 2020 Voter Fraud witnesses repeatedly noted that the ballot challenging process was ignored and suppressed.
Michigan State Senator Ruth Johnson, who is herself a former Secretary of State, told the Gateway Pundit: “My estimate is over 800,000 ballot applications were sent to non-qualified voters in Michigan, including many individuals who moved or died, and even some individuals who were underage or non-citizens. Many were sent to people who had moved out of state.”
This article is not about the Titanic. It's about another ship...the ship of state rapidly sinking into the abyss. In fact, one could make that statement about most of Western civilization. Yes, the ship is sinking and the captain, his crew, and associates are getting ready to exit the ship, leaving us to go down with the ship.
We are going to ask many questions, the first step in finding answers. Questions like: What happened? Why did we allow our government(s) to turn on us? What can we do at this point? Who is responsible?
For decades, the West has experienced, not immigration, but chaos...no order, no vetting
Most everyone with any cognizance will agree that we have entered a very strange time, a sort of Twilight Zone. States and cities with governors, mayors, legislatures, judicial branches, police...all the trappings of responsible civic order, whole multi-national corporations, and people of every class, many with the highest of educational degrees and skills, both rich and poor...all made blind by some supernatural force that causes tens of millions of these people to not see the end from the beginning...that winter is coming.
Portland is a typical example. They complain about crime, yet voted to defund police. Cities and counties everywhere like New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Santa Clara County, CA, Butler County in Kansas, Hamilton County, Ohio...in their puffed-up pride and superior morality declare themselves 'sanctuaries' where illegal aliens can come... and find what? Will they find free housing, healthcare, food, clothing? Most of them departed with just what they could carry and gave up much of it on the way. In many cases they owe thousands to the ferryman. How about if they come by the millions expecting handouts? Suppose tens of thousands of these 'migrants' are Chinese soldiers waiting for orders? How is your pride and misplaced morality holding up?
Why do so many of you vote for the same people, the same party, yet expect a different result?
For decades, the West has experienced, not immigration, but chaos...no order, no vetting. It's chaos created by your leaders. Engineers and doctors can't get in, only the poor and unskilled. Who is making these decisions and why?
Can anyone fathom the destruction of an innocent life based on some god fantasy and greed?
In Europe, millions of migrants with a totally foreign culture are not integrating into society, but, instead, demanding that Europe change. Who decided that for you?
So called responsible people are actually telling children that they can change their gender. Can you imagine? Can anyone fathom the destruction of an innocent life based on some god fantasy and greed?
Celebrities such as Mel Gibson warned us over a decade ago that Hollywood, and many of the people we looked up to, were residing in a pit of pedophilia. Pedophilia is now getting some attention with the movie, 'The Sound of Freedom'.
Crime in most Democrat cities and states is off the charts. SUVs in California park with their tailgates open to show they have nothing to steal. Security technology is more advanced than ever and yet...are the security videos now only for entertainment purposes? No one yet seems to have figured out that winking at crime causes more crime... amazing. If you don't punish crime, you get more crime. What a concept.
Same for the homeless. Pay them, you get more. Many who have been interviewed prefer the lifestyle and you're paying for it...in crime, drug use, filth, and in some cities paychecks. Who decided that?
Our political and judicial systems have almost completely broken down. We are told countless times that Trump is a criminal, but the Bidens, the Clintons and countless other political hacks like Romney, Obama, Kerry, Soros, Brennan, and Pelosi are all tied to Ukraine money laundering schemes. That's why Trump must be taken down, he knows it. Whoever thought the FBI would lose their sterling reputation in just a few short years? Whoever would suspect the CIA would turn inward on its own people, gathering millions of pieces of information on countless Americans, against its own charter? Who would think the medical profession would not endorse inexpensive drugs for a pandemic, but endorse a vaccine that is now killing and disabling millions? And nothing changes.
The Deep State is planning the next election with the same tools they used to win the last one
Now for the really bad news. It's not about to end any time soon. Anyone who thinks our political disarray is just politics as usual is sadly misinformed. The Left in this country and in all of Western civilization is not only not going to give up and walk away, they are girding their loins for the final battle.
Millions of us think Trump will win and law and order will once again prevail. Think again. The Deep State is planning the next election with the same tools they used to win the last one. States have not fixed any of the problems we saw in 2020. As I see it, Trump will not be allowed to occupy the White House ever again. As of today, Trump is facing 78 criminal charges. They are hoping something will stick. These are the same people that watched while Leftist mobs burned down cities and then paid for their release and/or fines. But walking into the Capitol building upon invite gets you prison time in solitary.
One of the most memorable Twilight Zone episodes was called 'Monsters Are Due on Maple Street'. Aliens land on a hilltop near a quiet suburban subdivision. People dismiss it as probably a meteor. All is again quiet. The aliens begin their scheme by shutting off the power, electricity is out, cars won't start. A boy tries to explain to a crowd of people gathered in the street that he read about this in science fiction stories, that aliens will send down a few of their own to infiltrate the population. They look human enough. People begin showing anxiety. Upon trying to understand what is happening, most people in the neighborhood show signs of alarm, angst and dread, while a few represent the voice of reason. Before long the people are accusing one another of being alien, causing the chaos. It ends with the once quiet street having been turned into mobs of people attacking one another, shots being fired, people screaming.
Globalist cabal that want control over every form of life on this planet
If you haven't guessed, we are those people on Maple Street. We are being played with by godless, unscrupulous people. They are the globalist cabal that want control over every form of life on this planet. They divide us and accuse one group against another. So far, they are winning. What causes a person to wear a mask alone in a car? What causes billions of people to take a series of untested vaccines for a disease not unlike the common cold? What causes people to close their churches and businesses while seeing Walmart, liquor stores and pot shops stay open? What causes people to abandon common sense because someone with authority says different?
Think about it, we are dealing with pandemic, war, inflation, food shortages, crime, manufactured racial hatred, millions of unvetted migrants, and, of course, climate change that is going to kill us all. They have produced what they think is the one element needed to cause us to give up freedom, liberty and our God...FEAR!
But, we can fight back! We have power most of us do not realize. Anheuser Busch thought they could up-end our Christian morality, culture, religion, and sense of right and wrong. The boycott has cost them $40 billion in stock value. They're having to let go of almost 400 executives. The company has been turned upside down and it continues, months after the misstep. But, they remain unrepentant. Their silence confirms it. Many of their distributors are outraged and have given up hope of saving Bud Light.
Boycott companies that do not support the American way of life and our patriotism
That so many companies go woke, lose billions and remain without remorse in very curious. Who or what is behind this?
Boycott companies that do not support the American way of life and our patriotism. Continue the pressure on Anheuser-Busch. Start boycotting companies like Target, Disney, Bank of America, Progressive Insurance, Adidas, Levi Strauss, BlackRock, Vanguard, Nike, AARP, and North Face. Get off Facebook, and no more Starbucks. Get your coffee elsewhere.
Ben & Jerry's ice cream has recently announced a boycott of Israel, but their new holding company, Unilever, canceled it, forcing them to sell ice cream throughout Israel. This doesn't make them good, only neutral, at best.
Punish the bad, but support the good. Good companies like Hobby Lobby, Exxon Mobile, Sturm Ruger, AMAC, Consumers' Research, Toyota, Honda, Samsung, Trader Joe's, Hershey, Sony, and many more.
We can do this. We can win! The end of America doesn't have to happen.
Former President Barack Obama once wrote that he fantasized about having sexual relations with other men, biographer David Garrow said in an interview published on Wednesday.
The former president expressed his fantasies in a letter to a girlfriend at the time, Garrow told Tablet magazine in the interview. That letter has been redacted and is currently in the possession of Emory University, according to Garrow.
