My youngest grandson plays soccer. He is a junior in HS this year and has played on the Varsity team since he was a Freshman. In his Freshman year the team made the 6A semi-finals before losing. Last year they made it to the final before losing in OT after playing 36 minutes a man down.

This year, they are currently 16-0 overall and finished their region play last night with a 5-3 win in OT.  The team they played last night was also 5-0 coming in to last night's game. Our boys were down 2-3 at the half and tied it up in the second half to send it to OT. They scored twice in the OT periods locking up the Region title. The three goals they gave up last night was the highest number they had given up all season.

They have two more games scheduled before the state playoffs begin on April 19th.  They are going to play two 7A teams in the next couple of weeks.   Their record should give them home field advantage in the playoffs. Hopefully they can take that last step and claim a state title this year.

The Presbyterian Church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrel infestation.  After much prayer and consideration, they concluded that the squirrels were predestined to be there, and they should not interfere with God’s divine will.

At the Baptist Church, the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistery.  The deacons met and decided to put a water slide on the baptistery and let the squirrels drown themselves.  The squirrels liked the slide and, unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim, so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week.

The Lutheran Church decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God’s creatures.  So, they humanely trapped their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist church.  Two weeks later, the squirrels were back when the Baptists took down the water-slide.

The Episcopalians tried a much more unique path by setting out pans of whiskey around their church in an effort to kill the squirrels with alcohol poisoning.  They sadly learned how much damage a band of drunk squirrels can do.

But the Catholic Church came up with a more creative strategy!  They baptized all the squirrels and made them members of the church.  Now they only see them at Christmas and Easter.

Not much was heard from the Jewish Synagogue.  They took the first squirrel and circumcised him.  They haven’t seen a squirrel since.

Can't stop Trump from winning, so plan to destroy his presidency by destroying the country.

But 7% mortgage rates?  Shit.  I remember 12% to 14% and yet we survived.  And we had to walk uphill through snow just to get that.  Fucking snowflakes.

Popular vote is meaningless. Wow. To use that as an indicator of anything is counterproductive and considering many were fraudulent, even more misleading.

That there have been a few elections where the winner of the popular vote did not win the electoral college is used by the left to agitate to get rid of the EC.  To do that would violate the most basic premise of the United States which is exactly that: United States: A bunch of separate states uniting for a purpose; NOT the Empire of The District of Columbia. Each state is sovereign and under limited federal control as outlined in the Constitution and with power to elect federal officers through the EC which is designed to empower the state, not the individual citizens.

Thus we are not a direct democracy. We already partially damaged states’ powers with the 17th which we never should have done.  People need to get over the popular vote.  If you need to understand why, take a look at Texas right now asserting it’s rightful sovereignty by trying to protect her borders while the criminally reckless federal apparatus opposes those efforts. The good of the state must be considered in addition to the good of the individual and that is what the EC endeavors to address.

If the federal government were elected by popular vote, in other words a direct democracy ignoring state boundaries, then the overwhelming numbers in a few east and west coast cities would always prevail over the needs of all the other states.  Why bother having states then?  We would be back to feudal autocracy with sparsely populated but productive flyover states enslaved to support crowded little patches of land full of decadent elite and lazy underclass neither of which have a clue how to produce food or electricity.

No. Fuck the popular vote.

Tucker Carlson sure got attention, which is what he desired.
He is a "journalist" in the same way Rachel Maddow is.

I wonder if Carlson will also request an interview Zelensky?

Comparing Tucker Carlson to  Maddow is like Comparing George Washington to Biden.

Keep in mind I still wasn’t sold on Trump. The thrill was that someone other than Hillary won. Trump had yet to prove himself which he did during his term.  He wasn’t perfect, but he was a hell of a lot better than the Dems, and even the Uniparty. Very refreshing.

So as the lawyer's like to say: "were you wrong then or are you wrong now?  How are we supposed to tell?"
I assume it was in that order, although in today's world that order is generally reversed.
And the reason the wedding night is the happiest is often because it is all downhill from there.

Honestly, those three days were full of stress and hard work. If you don’t think getting into a wedding gown isn’t hard work, you’ve never tried it. Then there was all the socializing at the reception which for an introvert like me is stressful and draining, even though I appreciated the love from everyone. Then driving away from the reception we were rear-ended and had to go to the ER, and we were both in neck braces on our wedding night.

I don’t think I need to explain how labor and delivery were stressful and hard work. So yeah, all together, election night 2016 beat them out if you’re talking about net euphoria. (Happiness minus stress/work)  All I did that day was drive from Dallas to Austin, get a hotel room, order dinner and, left to myself in peace, watch the returns. When they called it for Trump, and the lefty pundits lost their shit on camera, that was a thrill unmatched by little else in my life. Maybe when I jumped, and the moment my chute opened and I realized I wasn’t going to die came close.

I thought of our very own "Old Crow" when I heard this:

"It's a little known fact that before the invention of the crowbar, crows used to just drink at home. "

You just might be a Democrat if

If you are fine with showing your I.D. while entering a Costco warehouse but believe it’s beyond the pale to be asked to provide an I.D. when voting for the president of the United States, you just might be a Democrat.

If you like the phrase “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” but think chants of “USA, USA” are trite, offensive, and possibly violent, you just might be a Democrat.

If you strongly support continual increases in the minimum wage but are baffled and upset by increasing prices in goods and services, you just might be a Democrat.

If you dance a little jig of happiness when you hear that mask mandates may be coming back, you just might be a Democrat.

If you don’t want the border secured because you’re afraid you won’t be able to find a reasonably priced gardener or pool boy, you just might be a Democrat.

If you think the Obamas are beatific near-deities who tried their best to heal and unite the nation but that Trump is Hitler or the Antichrist, you just may be a Democrat.

If you get your news from “The View,” MSNBC, and Salon, you just might be a Democrat.

If you think NPR is utterly fair and balanced but Fox News is not, you just might be a Democrat.

If you look at Hunter Biden’s “paintings” and see a talented artist, you just might be a Democrat. (And if you purchase one, you just might be a Democrat donor.)

If you are glad that Oregon decriminalized possession of hard drugs and that federal, state, and local governments have greatly cracked down on cigarette smoking, you just might be a Democrat.

If you have always decried “Big Business” but recently find yourself liking Google, Facebook, Disney and Target, you just might be a Democrat.

If you think LeBron James is a perfect role model but Aaron Rodgers is a total and complete ass, you just might be a Democrat.

If you think wind power is vital to our “sustainable” future but don’t want wind turbines anywhere near where you live because they are a blight on the landscape, you just might be a Democrat.

If you think Jimmy Kimmel is funny but Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle are not, you just might be a Democrat.

If you think “The Squad” is mainstream but MAGA members are far-out extremists, you just might be a Democrat.

If you don’t believe prayer should be allowed in public schools—or at high school sports venues—but do believe that after-school Satan clubs have a Constitutional right to be held at school facilities, you just might be a Democrat.

If you believe football should be banned because it’s too violent but support Antifa riots, transgender surgeries, medical-assisted dying, and abortion, you just might be a Democrat.

If you purport to believe that the best thing humans can do for the planet is to become extinct, you just might be a Democrat. (Put your money where your mouth is?)

If you think “Sanctuary Cities” should not have to deal with the massive influx of illegal aliens but the states that happen to abut the border should, you just might be a Democrat.

What was the name of that movie with the aircraft carrier that goes through a time warp.

Final Countdown. I just watched it a month or so ago. It was on Prime or one of the streaming services.
