There is no "yet". You're NEVER going to have charging stations on street, nor in apartment complexes parking lots for every space. Also, building power plants and distribution takes decades or longer IF it ever happens. So still B.S.

Where do the minerals for batteries come from? They're not here, domestically.  Where are most batteries and electric car parts made? CHINA. EVs are the biggest joke since the Covid response.   ::)

Of course the two closet Leftists still push for EVs. GMAFB.
Even if only half, or a quarter of homes will ever have charging stations, compare that to how many homes have gas pumps in their garage?

Top six countries with the largest lithium reserves in the world
1. Bolivia – 21 million tonnes
 2. Argentina – 17 million tonnes
3. Chile – 9 million tonnes
4. United States – 6.8 million tonnes
5. Australia – 6.3 million tonnes
6. China – 4.5 million tonnes

And there are several battery technologies that don't depend on some of the nastier elements currently used.

B.S. The grid nor generation can't support EVs. Also,  most people can't charge at home. Apartment dwellers, row home and people with on street parking (city dwellers), etc. Plus the range and charging stations aren't there.
As I said: Keyword being "yet".
And only people from Philadelphia know what a row home is.

. EV's are not serious vehicles for traveling yet.
Keyword being "YET".
IMNSHO, the only legitimate gripe against EVs are the Federal mandates and tax credits.  Everything else is just noise.

Spin Zone / Janet Yellen's trade war?
« on: April 08, 2024, 06:35:52 AM »
When Trump tried to protect American Industry by placing tariffs on Chinese goods, everyone called it "Trump's Trade War".

Now Janet Yellen is proposing those same types of Tariffs.  Will this be called Yellen's Trade War?  Or will she be called a courageous protector of American industry?

Spin Zone / Re: Years Late - CDC Releases Covid Vaccine Injury Reports

   ???

No one said it was, but it does contain data, and our government was busy censoring any negative information concerning the vax, so they narrative became VAERS is unreliable.

The narrative was "Safe and Effective".
Agreed.  And I do remember hearing "practically" 100% effective.
Then 90%
Then 75%
Then . . .
Then a 3rd one is needed.
Then perhaps annually.
Then, Well, at least it usually keeps you from dying if/when you catch the disease.

When to Use All of the Sudden
Quote
All of the sudden is an incorrect formulation of the phrase all of a sudden. Given the fact that it’s not the correct spelling of the phrase, it is rarely used in print.
That is an incorrect statement.  I see it in print often. Or at least in electronic font.

VAERS is merely an information gathering tool.  It is not meant to be a definitive conclusion of anything.

I liked Tulsi when liking Tulsi wasn't cool.

I think you are mostly right in that the D party changed.  But I think Tulsi changed too.  I believe that as she saw the growing hypocrisy of the democratic party she re-evaluated some of her beliefs and discovered that she had been misled by what seemed like good intentions.  I think her re-evaluation awakened some of her sensibilities.

Just like a reformed smoker is among the most vehement of anti-smoking people, I think a reformed Democrat (or communist) can be the most solid conservative.  They have seen the enemy, and it is them (with apologies to Pogo).

Spin Zone / Re: $DJT
« on: April 01, 2024, 09:20:10 AM »
I did it.  I told my husband I wanted to buy $500 worth of that new Truth Social stock and he said, “Make it a thousand.”  Screw figuring out how to buy a stock myself.  I just emailed our investment guy and directed him to buy us $1000 of Trump’s new Truth Social stock and I told him, no, I don't care if it’s not a good investment. I just want to play!

HA!
It might be time to double-down.  ^DJT is around $50 right now, but there is going to be a lot of volatility with this stock.  Disappointing earnings just came out and mot people sell on news.  It'll probably go down more before popping but trying to call the bottom (or top) is a crap shoot. Best bet is to go with your gut for the long term.

Spin Zone / DeSantis is out of GOP

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The political landscape was rocked to its core today, with reverberations sure to be felt for several years, as Governor Ron DeSantis was kicked out of the Republican Party for accomplishing too many things.

The move was announced after careful deliberation by the Republican National Committee in coordination with top GOP leaders at all levels of government, with decision-makers citing DeSantis's ongoing tendency to get things done as evidence he does not belong with the party.

Wondering why it took three of them to visit her.
Have you ever seen a government road work crew?

I keep hearing that all of the people killed on the bridge are "immigrants that are doing the work no one else wants to do".

Is this a euphemism for "illegal alien"?  One interview said they were "not invaders; they just want a better life".  And another said they work to send money back home to South America.

Not that I have any less sympathy for them or their families, but it sure sounds like a bunch of illegals to me.
These are the people for whom we need a more organized and efficient system for legal entry into the country where everyone that comes in is DOCUMENTED.
