Spin Zone / Re: Paypal now full censorship
« on: October 10, 2022, 04:31:06 AM »That cuts off about half-way through the first page - at least when I view it.
It is a 7 page document and the "misinformation" clause appears on page 2. So I searched for the file name of the document and by gum I found Paypal merely moved it to here:
https://www.paypalobjects.com/marketing/ua/pdf/AU/en/acceptableuse-full-110322.pdf
This is the offending paragraph:
"You may not use PayPal's services for activities that:
[...]
5. involve the sending, posting or publication of any messages, content or materials
that, in PayPal’s sole discretion, (a) are harmful, obscene, harassing or objectionable, (b) depict or appear to depict nudity, sexual or other intimate activities, (c) depict or promote illegal drug use, (d) depict or promote violence, criminal activity, cruelty or self-harm (e) depict, promote or incite hatred or discrimination of protected groups or of individuals or groups based on protected characteristics (e.g. race, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation etc.) (f) presents a risk to consumer safety or (financial) wellbeing, (g) are fraudulent, promote misinformation or are unlawful, (h) infringes the intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights of any party or (i) are otherwise unfit for publication."
I had intended to highlight "misinformation" but just too many other things worth highlighting. Sellers of artwork like Venus de Milo hardest hit. And horror and war films. And so on....
My link cuts off halfway through the first page because it is a screenshot on an archive site, specifically for the purpose of memorializing evidence after it’s scrubbed off the rest of the internet. Note the first paragraph that mentions the $2,500 “liquidated damages” that PayPal will debit from your account if you engage in wrong speak in their sole opinion. That’s the offending paragraph.
EDIT: NO NO NO NO. That link had all 7 pages! It was another archive link that only had half the first page, the one I posted had the whole thing yesterday. I went to my desktop with Windows and the page was still open, and I was able to download it!
EDIT AGAIN: It still has all 7 pages. But when I click it in Safari on my iPad it indeed only shows half of the first page. Have you tried clicking on it in Windows?
