Just what Dr. Campbell said.

Yeah, I like him. Willing to admit when he’s wrong.

And a link to the study:  https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr/doi/10.1002/14651858.CD006207.pub6/full
And to the mask zealots, FUCK YOU

I’m waiting for all the news outlets to broadcast these results and tell us all to throw away our masks. How about the CDC?  Now that studies have confirmed what those of us with common sense have always known.  Still waiting for them to admit they’re wrong………

Spin Zone / Cop gone wild claims she was “groomed”
« on: March 05, 2023, 11:30:39 AM »
I’m sorry.  This is going way too far.  You can’t hold men responsible for your own “vulnerable” mental state just because they keep asking you for sex and you finally give in.  Now that she’s been fired and made an international laughing stock all of a sudden none of it is her fault.

Her affair with Powell sounds like if anything it damaged him more than her, like he felt manipulated by her. Don’t get me wrong he’s not innocent in this, but she’s certainly no innocent victim herself.  You can’t whore yourself around like that for months and then claim you had no agency of your own when you were a grown ass woman.  Nobody raped her.  They respected her “no” when she said it.  That’s it, end of story.  You don’t “groom” adult women like a pedo would a five year old.  It’s not the same at all and it is quite offensive for adult women to co-opt that term when for whatever reason they allow men to talk them into sex and then happen to regret it later.

I see no claim that her job was threatened.  She admits she was messed up in the head because of marital problems which left her “vulnerable” to these men’s advances.  Okay fine, that does not absolve you of responsibility for your decision to respond to them, and anyway, you already had an “open” marriage so your baseline morality is infidelity in the first place, long before these officers came along.  Now you want to drag them through court looking for a payout I imagine.

Rush, I have no idea.  Every time I post a youtube link, someone comes on to tell me how I've done it wrong.   :-[

Well obviously you did it right because I “liked” it way back then.  Something changed the link in the meantime.

This is the real story behind "The Slap."

VElxs38DHAI

Did you modify the post to remove part of the link or has the forum gremlins messed it up?

What’s between the YouTube code is only the last characters in the link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VElxs38DHAI

I edited it to remove the YouTube code to show what is now in there.  Can’t figure out why you would have done that, but why would the forum automatically do it?

Spin Zone / Whiskey mold
« on: March 05, 2023, 05:06:52 AM »
Wow.  The company claims that an air filtration system won’t work and that this mold is a normal result of making whiskey and also “eats” other things, so they’re kind of shirking responsibility.  Apparently it wasn’t a big problem prior to 2018.  It’s worsening as they add more barrel houses.  The company claims it doesn’t hurt people.  It sure is hurting their property values!

What’s the answer?  Maybe they need to move the whiskey distillery to a hot dry climate?  Which presumably would crash the economy in that town as Jack Daniels is a major employer.

Haha!  Wow.

It could also be applicable to bloggers in other states or countries.

Oh no, there is nothing limiting the blogger to the state of Florida.  If I’m sitting in Texas and blog about one of Florida’s elected state officers and make any money at all, I have to file their reports or I guess Florida will fine me and ultimately attempt to collect the accumulated fines.  Can one state do that to someone in another state?

Steve Lehto is trolling the hell out of them. He’s begging them to come after him.  Ba hahahaha!

Oh no, you’re better at it than I am.   ;D

N7 is right about the dark money. But I don’t think this law will solve that problem. They’ll simply hide the money without reporting it.  And in the meantime normal bloggers who aren’t getting dark money, but simply making ad money or patreon money, will be forced into a lot of miserable bureaucratic nonsense while putting themselves into a government database that could potentially be weaponized for political witch hunts, if not by the right then by the left in the future should the shoe be put on the other foot. Similar to how Bush’s Patriot Act (Bush was a Republican) was turned against Republicans less than two decades later.

Note this law doesn’t specify the content, so it will affect bloggers portraying the official in either negative or positive light, meaning it will sweep up friendlies as well as enemies.  It will create a database of everyone who mentions “Ron DeSantis” for example.  Suppose it’s now used by a leftie staffer, or hacked, to intimidate pro-DeSantis bloggers.  Or simply to identify them so their blog can be cyber attacked and shut down, say, before the 2024 election if DeSantis runs.

I’m deeply cautious about any effort to create more mandated government databases of us, no matter the good intentions.

I know. Just my stupid sense of humor.    ;D   ::)

I know you know.  I was just bored and wanted to push your buttons.   ;D

The anti free speech phenomena we are experiencing is not republican or democrat, it's the UniParty aka "the establishment".

I want to know if DeSantis supports it.

This guy’s my go-to guy for aviation accidents.  Richard McSpadden from the AOPA Air Safety Institute has excellent and timely reports.

Richard was the Thunderbirds commander in 2001-2003 I believe, and was also my first Navion instructor.

They’re claiming that the bloggers are acting like “paid lobbyists” for a political agenda and when they blog falsehoods this law will make it easier to identify the funding source and prosecute for defamation.

It is very sloppily written and won’t pass a court challenge in my opinion.  It’s unconstitutional against the first amendment in an analogous way registering a firearm is unconstitutional against the second.  On the other hand this isn’t speech in the sense of putting out one’s opinion; it is bought and paid for hit pieces against the right.  So I sympathize with the desire to go after them, however, this kind of law can be turned against you when the other side is in power.

The DeSantis administration and his buddies are treading a bit too close to the line on the First Amendment here.
