It is unbelievable that the company that makes a worthless vaccine that doesn't stop anything also happen to make the drug they say you should take to treat the disease you should have never gotten.  "If it COVID, Paxlovid"
Not only the disease you should never have gotten, but that you probably didn’t actually have.

Update on my husband’s mother (97). Her care home tested her positive for covid and although she had NO SYMPTOMS they moved her into the covid ward and said they were starting her on Paxlovid. My husband said NO PAXLOVID.

We’re now on Day 23 of her having NO SYMPTOMS and thankfully, she has not been on an unnecessary DRUG. They moved her back to her usual room.

How about when Trump says

Oh, I know.  That's just Trump being Trump.
He never said that, and I’m surprised you fell for that old attempt by his enemies to smear him with fake attributions. Where to start? If not outright fabrications, they’re often twisted to make them worse. Such as pussy grabbing. He said he “could,” not that he did. He was referring to women known as “star f**ckers,” who chase wealthy men. As for members of the military, as President he respected them and was respected by them. But keep believing whatever you hear. We expect that of you by this time.

Just saw Username’s reply. Spot on. Keep up, Joe!

I get that you are stooping to his level and that’s perfectly fair.  But the baby killer thing is stooping below his level.  Just my opinion. You are free to disagree.

Also nit picky disagreement about him abusing every poster here. I don’t recall him ever abusing me. Not even once.
Nor me.

Actually no, I use that phrase to mean that the belief is non-falsifiable for that person. In the this case, by Rush’s own admission. That means it is pointless to discuss further with that person because here is no evidence that exists which would ever falsify the belief. And I think it is a good thing when a person who has such beliefs is up front about it. It reduces waste of time and keeps the discussion more polite.

Let me ask Becky if you can name any evidence, which could exist in principle, which would persuade you that the amount of fraud which existed in the 2020 presidential election did not affect the outcome?

Yes. A complete redo of the 2020 election as soon as possible, at the time, using only paper ballots, requiring ID, and one-day counting would have been ideal but of course doesn’t exist. It could still be done, but has not been and here we are facing another election with most of the cheat mechanisms still in place.

Don’t forget that the bulk of the cheat was made through controlling voting machine data in real time, in selected states and selected precincts where people were put in place to carry out the cheat in real time. However, they could not outsmart real time. President Trump’s lead was so great that the jumps in counts in those precincts were seen by the world. Literally, the world knows President Trump won. The frantic rush to produce paper ballots to back up the millions of fake votes was seen by the world. Testimonies were given, hundreds of them, by election workers from those selected precincts where the cheat happened, including by representatives of Dominion who testified they were told on election night to sit away from the counting activity and were not allowed to observe or monitor the activity of the machines in any way.

The passage of time has made it harder to find or even access these testimonies because there is a constant scrubbing of them from the internet.

I could be convinced the 2020 election was not stolen if every deposition, testimonial, video, election official statement, voting machine data and ballot were unearthed and examined with extreme focus and with bipartisan observers documenting each finding.

As well, let analysis and concrete backup explain the dozen or more statistics, such as Biden losing the bellwether counties and the differentials in registered voters vs. ballots counted, that prove the outcome was not merely statistically improbable, but impossible.

Well Rush, at least you are open about your non-falsifiable belief!
You use that phrase as if it somehow implies that a plurality of anecdotal evidence is not valid data. But it is. The election was stolen. Rush is correct in her observations. I watched many testimonies and read many of the affidavits that came out right after the election. Most quickly were suppressed. The speed with which AG Barr insisted no evidence of cheating was found was a giant tell. He didn’t even look, therefore he didn’t find. The whole situation we are in is a perfect illustration of the old fable of the emperor with no clothes. Anyone insisting Biden got 81 million votes and won the election is living in a fantasy.

Why would we support a party that doesn’t stand up and protect America from invasion and direct its resources to election security and serving the American people? No sign of the RNC ship pivoting toward competency.

It’s unavoidable. You start with freedom which brings prosperity which brings comfort and plenty which brings complacency.  All it takes is a generation born into plenty.  They’ve never known what it takes to maintain freedom and produce the prosperity they take for granted. Naïveté and laziness ensues. Because food seems to magically appear in the grocery store and is endless they have no motivation to defend the system that produces it. They have no idea of the substructure underlying it: Free market economics and strong defense thereof. So they ignore the corruption rotting it all out from the inside.
That really describes us, the kids of the men who fought in World War 2. We were of course aware that our fathers fought for America and freedom, but it was history, not something we actually saw, and somehow was regarded by us unconsciously as something that “couldn’t happen again,” and we grew up not worrying about our next meal or feeling that our freedom, opportunity and prosperity were in any way threatened. All subsequent wars and skirmishes seemed distant to us and unable to penetrate our safe bubble, except for Vietnam, which was seen as a political disaster and not an actual threat to America except for the loss of blood and treasure it exacted.

Until 2001, we felt “safe.” It always was an illusion, and I can’t imagine really what all that has come down over the past few years and prior looks like to the younger generations, whose reference points to history and freedom are more distant than ours.

I departed from FB when it hit me that it was NOT a forum. It is NOT a place for discussion of any topic of importance, especially existential ones. As well, on January 8, 2021, long after I left FB, they did a purge and ban not only of the President of the United States but thousands of other conservatives as well, including WalkAway, a forum for people who walked away from the Democratic Party.

I don’t miss it at all. When you take away topics of importance, you’re left with meaningless, insipid and time-wasting topics. I stay in touch with the people I care about through other means.

Haha!!! I just liked Lucifer’s post in green about moderating the forum, but thought that for Joe’s sake I should say that I liked it because of its sarcasm. I’m so thoughtful.  ;D

You do LOVE to whine like a teenage girl.
A generalization. I doubt that most teenage girls would know what “pseudonym” and “incoherent” mean. And they probably wouldn’t block when insulted, but fire back.

Sure.  You just keep on believing that.

Or perhaps it just seems that way because the few that do engage in  personal attacks are such prolific posters.
Well, Joe, Anthony’s statement is true. In fact, only two posters here actually make personal attacks. One trouble might be that you tend to filter and contort things said to you into personal attacks. I suppose you’ll think that statement is a personal attack. But you’re usually the only person to whom I have to respond, “I didn’t say THAT, I said THIS.” I live in hope that you’ll grow a thicker skin.

You are correct that the two who do engage in personal attacks post a lot. But the truth is that there are only two who get the knives out and cross the boundary into incivilty.

Becky, I actually agree with you about the dysfunctional Republican party, and that something needs to be done about it.

But disbanding it and starting a new TRUMP party will not accomplish anything except create a losing party that you can be proud of.
In order for Trump to be successful he needs to fashion a plan that will get a majority of Americans on his side.  But he doesn't seem to know how to do that.  It is his way or the highway.  And even if his way is the right way that counts for nothing if he can't get that majority on his side.

And wishing that the Dems would turn on their own party is really being in denial about the state of the other side.  They LIKE their party.
I didn’t say “a Trump party” and I didn’t “wish” the Dems would turn against their party. I said they “should.” Big difference. The Dems are destroying the country and the Rs are allowing it.
