Pilot Zone / It was HOT this weekend, until I turned on the fan!

...and it felt GOOOOOD.  I'd forgotten that the whirly thing at the front blows air on you and cools the cabin, but it quickly came back.

I took a flight in a PA-28...or more like a PA-27-1/2 considering there were 2 fairly big guys up front and it was 89dF on a 2600' runway.  Cherokees already have an anemic climb rate but thankfully all 150 gerbils came to work that day.

We took off about 6p and tracked a heading out to the practice area, having to remain under the Bravo.  It seems just like riding a bike, most of everything came back to me quickly and it helps when you don't scare the bejeezus out of yourself.

We did some power on and off stalls and steep turns at 59.9999degrees before a Seneca that we couldn't get tally on cut our fun short, so we headed over to a neighboring airport for pattern work.

Do all Cherokees need left rudder on takeoff?  This one seemed like it did.  It's going to be awhile before I can get a greaser.  My height judgment for round out is programmed for Cessnas.

All in all, not bad.  When was the last time I'd flown as PIC?  A look at my logbook says July 2015 :o

Spin Zone / Re: did the corrupt doormat lie to the FBI?
« on: July 07, 2016, 01:13:18 PM »
Did she intentionally lie to an investigator?  What I recall was a hundred or so classified E-mails, among the tens of thousands that went in and out of her office in four years three years ago.  Can she be excused for not recalling those 100?  I think you'd have a hard time convincing a jury of open-minded people (unlike the crowd here) that forgetting about 100 instances in a pool of tens of thousands constitutes willful misdirection.

Obviously the FBI director thought so.  According to you guys she should be indicted if she spits on the street.  But not only did the FBI director not think there was enough to indict her on charges of mishandling classified material, he did not think there was enough to indict her for lying to the FBI, something he could have done.  Recall, it is something you have to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt.

These "occupational licensing", or more accurately, occupational cartels, are all state-licensed, not federal.  The APA only applies to federal regulations, not state laws.
Who cares??? Can someone sell you a sense of humor?

With Hillary as president she would have to prove that she could swing a bigger D!&#. With Donald as president he is a D!&#. Since Bernie is a P^%$$, I guess it means we're all F=+ck€D.

Upper middle class are the most disenfranchised group in the country. "Just pay, and shut the hell up."
That's by brilliant design my friend - a wicked dastardly brilliant design that is. Keep the glass ceiling on what you call Upper Middle Class. People with Power, Money and Influence see only 2 classes: Us and Them.

Can you tell us what specific laws codify discrimination today, and what laws are being mal-enforced?
I reread my post and I didn't get the switcheroo of timeline you did. Perhaps it's the sleep deprivation talking.

Congratulate me: I became a dad again, 6 days ago.

In my quest for an answer, I reached out to Scott Dennstaedt and we spoke about this for a few minutes.  He says that the answer would involve a specialty that he doesn't get much into but did provide a few nuggets for me to chew on and investigate.

He said that most of the moisture is contained in the troposphere (check) and that about 99% of it remains below 40,000 feet.  He says that convective activity can take water upwards of 65-70,000feet where the moisture in the form of ice crystals can linger for weeks or months until it settles, reaching for hydrostatic balance.

And I learned that Helium is finite on the earth  :o

I'm still digging
