First Christmas for the wife and I without our daughter.  She went with the fiance to visit the soon to be in-laws…

Do have a number of friends coming over for dinner so that will be nice.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

Sorry your cruise got spoiled Dan.

Thanks, we are obviously disappointed, but absolutely nothing compared to the Israelis.  Feels way more personal being this close.  Plus I’ve been talking with our guides for several months getting things setup.  We feel like we have friends that are involved.  Quote from one of our guides, after we cancelled and told him we would be praying for him and Israel.   Got to admire the determination:

“It is what is is
We are counting casualties
No much options.  Harsh Times.
The next few days Hell will be largely provided.”

Flying up to Chicago tomorrow morning, then driving.  RV-14A isn't done yet :(

We (TangoFlight) will have a plane on display at the EAA Aeroeducate booth, and I will be speaking Monday morning.  Stop by and heckle me if you don't have anything else to do!

Hm...  I stopped looking at Cardinals a while ago when the cantilever wing AD came out for it and the 210s.  It is the sexiest Cessna around.  It's plenty fast and has decent full-fuel payload of 670 pounds.  Not a lot of range, though.  Worth taking another look... thanks!

Put over 500 hours on our Cardinal.  Loved that plane.  Sold out to my partner when I finished my RV-9A.

Was able to get my late 80's grandmother into the plane several times with just a little step stole.

We loved the Moose's Tooth, but if you are still there, you HAVE to check out F-Street Station.  We were referred there for the food and only found out that it is an aviation themed restaurant when we got there.  We keep saying we are going to go back to Anchorage just so we can go there again.

Thanks, I have a red eye out late tonight, but hopefully will have some time between meetings today.  Might try to check it out for lunch!

Was flying back from a fly-in yesterday.  Was a beautiful CAVU day so just flying along not talking to anyone, but monitoring center and gaurd.

About every 10-15 minutes for over three hours someone (different people) would come on guard with "Let's go Brandon".

Because vaccinated people can still be infected and pass on the virus. It's already happened.

I take it you didn't read the article?

Austin?

I’m up in Georgetown, make it down to Austin about once a year at most.  Used to be a fun place to visit, but I got old(er) and it got weirder...

Don't forget that online courses are an option (albeit with their own set of problems)

Online high school classes are an absolute joke.

I teach high school Engineering/Aviation/Aerospace.  My Tango Flight Program (www.tangoflight.org) is in 11 high schools around the country.  Every one of them is shut down for the remainder of the school year.  However, all are currently planning to open in the fall.

My local school district went to online classes in March (right after spring break).  To call it a joke would be a huge understatement.  I did better than most teachers, but only averaged about 70 percent of my kids doing ANYTHING.

We just received word this week that we must pass every student.  Unless we can document a ton of different ways that we called parents, students, counselors, principals, etc.  then we have to pass the (entire semester is credit only).

I  refuse to do it.  I passed everyone that put forth any effort, including a number that don’t deserve it, but I can not give someone credit that I have not even heard from since before spring break.  Maybe I’ll get luck and they will fire me.  It will save me having to decide if I’m coming back in the fall or not.

Davey Crockett was born, here I was not lol.

I’m currently sitting about a ten minute drive from his birth site.  I’m waving, wave back!

Best Rock drummer of tall time.  Had the privilege of seeing Rush several times.  The energy and talent of all of them was incredible, but Neil was on a level all by himself.

Huge amount of respect for his talent, and the way he handled himself through unbelievable tragedy in his personal life.

Add to that price transparency.  The vast majority of medical care is non-emergency.  Make it was for people to comparison shop for that knee replacement, etc.

Scary story.

Have a Phd friend that is doing some REALLY high level AI stuff.  Interestingly they are using GPU's to do the heavy processing.

Anyway, they developed a system that could analyze MRI's, etc.  It very quickly got to the point that it was way better than a doctor at detecting anomalies.  Then the scary part.  It has started exhibiting behaviours (it is a learning algorithm) that they can not explain.  i.e. it is doing things it shouldn't be.  Small scale at this point, but Skynet stuff...
