Communist medical systems notwithstanding, I'm having difficulty understanding how the tumor could have gotten so large without someone deciding to do something about it.

In short, lack of exposure to something results in pathological fear of it, and when children are not given exposure to a thing while at the same time being taught to fear it (girls and bugs) it's very hard to ever overcome it.

And ironically, if left to their own devices, kids LOVE to shoot.  Take them out someplace where they can shoot a BB gun or 22 sometime BEFORE they're indoctrinated, and you have a life-long shooter.

Maybe the military could do a better job of screening out such people.

I think the ARMY needs to do a better job of screening.  Bergdahl had already washed out of the Coast Guard for psychological reasons.

Please help me understand the need for suppressors.

First, you need to understand that a suppressor doesn't "silence" the gun--not even close.  A suppressor is MUCH less effective than a muffler on a car.  What it does do is muffle some of the "crack" of the report, making it sound like more of a "thump".  I went to a rifle match last year that was held on a Marine base.  A few Marines were shooting suppressed M4s, and the sound of their fire could clearly be heard, even wearing ear muffs and ear plugs together.

Dianne Feinstein and Hillary have been watching too many 007 movies.

I wouldn't give California a nickel unless they forced me, and I live there.

Get used to it.  I have MSN.com as my default site upon opening my internet browser.  EVERY DAY it has at least one negative article about Trump, sometimes more than one.  EVERY FREAKING DAY!

Get used to it, indeed.  My local paper, here in one of the most liberal areas of California, has had a daily negative front-page article about Trump ever since he got the Republican nomination.  Yes, literally every single day.

My only concern is that a revolving door of Congressional oversight would shift power to the perpetual  bureaucracy.

That's essentially what has happened in California.  In our case we have a single-party revolving door of rookie politicians.  The results have been disastrous.

If that's the case, and we're heading for a one party system regardless, then it won't matter who I vote for. Want to see a perfect example of that? Look at Venezuela.

No need to go as far as Venezuela.  We have it right here in California.  Both the state assembly and senate are strongly Democratic (possibly after this election there will be a Dem supermajority), and our current governor is a Democrat.  Our next governor is virtually guaranteed to be Democrat.   All political districts are heavily gerrymandered to make certain the Democrat stranglehold is maintained.

So the rest of the nation can look to California to see how quickly the Democrats can bankrupt the country.  I find it hard to believe that anyone can, at this point, be undecided about the upcoming Presidential election.

I'm thinking the pumpkin spice Glock isn't real

Painted guns don't work very well.

Here is a painted gun that is, I can assure you, quite real:

1)  How will they prevent someone from having a functioning firearm that looks like a toy?

To me, this is the key issue.  What cop is going to bet his life that someone hasn't painted a real gun up to look like a toy?  One obvious solution is (and always has been) for people to recognize that cops get nervous when they see you holding something (ANYTHING) and so don't do that.  Keep your hands visible and follow orders.

You're joking, right?

No.  Gun-haters don't distinguish between accidents, acts of stupidity, crimes, and suicides.  It'a all "gun violence" to them.

Yes, Colt made the original AR15.  Now when you read an article that refers to an AR15 they're referring to a rifle of a particular platform, not a rifle from a specific manufacturer.

That's not true here in California, where, if you have a rifle that actually says "AR15" on it (yes, made by Colt or some other manufacturers) it is unconditionally illegal unless you registered it when the "assault weapon" ban went into effect.  If you have a rifle that says something else on it, it may or may not be illegal, depending on how it's configured.  I am not making this up--our legislators are morons.

This flowchart describes the whole mess:  https://www.calguns.net/caawid/flowchart.pdf
