Never underestimate the ability of Republicans to fuck it up, in the next election or beyond. Of course, the same applies to the Democrats, as evidenced by the nomination of the Anointed One. What I'd like in a candidate, broadly, is social liberalism, fiscal sense, and answers that aren't automatically "more government" and "more shitty laws".

^^^^^For the most part I agree.  However, I would want "social liberalism" to not mean social engineering policies that also destroy "fiscal sense".

We may know this is a lot of nothing (Russia, etc), but the mainstream media has successfully convince, or at least reinforced it is real to a lot of people.  Of course they are mainly Hillary supporters that are still butt hurt she lost, but still.  It is scary what people believe, and WANT to believe.

The debate is over!!!  There is no voter fraud!  Just like the debate on MMGW

I do not like the man's politics, nor demeanor, but I would not wish ill on him.  I hope he recovers, and retires.

The Democrats may smarten up, and run a moderate, populist that can be embraced by union types, and blue collar, middle America workers.  Naaaaa.  They are still eating brie cheese, drinking Chardonnay, and ridiculing FLY OVER AMERICA.

I'm not sure whether you are saying that *I* think that or someone else (missing pronoun in your sentence). I don't actually think that. Tighter restrictions on gun ownership will probably have close to zero effect on violent crime by gangs and predatory criminals. I do think that making it easier for people in large cities to buy guns will probably lead to higher levels of domestic violence, perhaps vigilantism as well. Pack enough people close together in tight quarters and stress levels rise, it is human nature. Stress leads to disputes, and if the most convenient way to resolve a dispute is with a gun, some people are going to reach for the gun. It's hard to argue with that logic.

Where stress levels are low enough that such incidents are rare (such as here in VT), taking guns from honest people would solve absolutely nothing. That's why I tend to think gun laws should be a local matter, despite the 2nd amendment. But my mind is still open on the subject.

There is so much fail in this post, I just don't know where to begin.  The most convenient way to resolve a dispute is NOT WITH A GUN.  The vast majority of people know that is wrong, plus it will send you to JAIL.

Punish the people that commit the crimes, not the legal gun owner!

azure,

It's great you are participating.  Thank you.  I still don't see any material proof, nor facts other than conjecture by think tanks, and the media.  A lot of what I am seeing form the left is great leaps in the hopes of making it look like Putin/Russia was helping Trump.

969
But the fact remains - apparently Putin DID want Trump to get elected, regardless of the stated reasons why he shouldn't have.

How is that a FACT?  Other than claims by the media, what facts do we have?  I can get any poll to say anything I want.

Body image has become a real problem for people, especially younger women.  Look at what we see in TV, and especially movies.  Look at the characters of older movies, even on 20 or 30 years ago, but more the older ones.  Male actor didn't all look like slimmed down, ripped body builder, but more average, but still attractive.  Also, all the newer films, feature actors that look child like.  Where are the Cary Grants, Robert Mitchums, James Garners, Telly Savalas, Clark Gables, Jimmy Stewars?  Where are the real men, not boys?

Like the male actors, the female actors also look like they've been with a personal trainer, at least four hours out of the day, on some macro biotic diet.  How can teenage girls compete with these starlets?  Who has four hours a day to be in the gym?

We all have our own styles.  I don't take this stuff too seriously.  I do take the direction of our country seriously, just not how people present their views to me, or others on the internet.

McCain is the worst scum. I am ashamed that he's a veteran, and a republican. Nothing McCain has ever done for the US in uniform is worth all the damage he's caused. Nothing.

Agree on all counts.

But nothing. Free immigration is a more Libertarian idea than Liberal. It is often regarded as one of their core concepts. Rich from POA did some writing on his open borders ideas that I wish I could still access.

I don't know many Libertarians that advocate for open borders, however that does not mean some do.  To me Open Borders means that you do not want a sovereign nation, no national defense, etc.  I don't get it.

Goebbels would be proud of the MSM.

I said that before on this board, or another board in which I post, and the response from another individual was:

"Goebbels would be ENVIOUS."

The MSM is pumping this whole division bullshit.

The MSM is the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.  They want us divided as we are easier to manipulate, and control that way.  They spout false narratives to advance their agenda, then both the left, and the right get upset at each other.  The right knows they are lies, but the left believes them because they want to believe them.  Rinse, and repeat.
