Hillary was an historically hideous candidate.

But that's the crux of the issue.  The 7/11 robber can get by a statute of limitations by not robbing for however many years.  An illegal alien can't no matter how above board they are.  That's the sticking point you all seem to have.  Like I said, so long as there is some sort of stiff penalty my hope is the illegals would prefer to be legals.  On the other hand if they want it that much why don't we make it work in our favor?

Well, they are continually breaking the law by being here.  If they left and didn't come back, eventually they would be in the clear because they wouldn't be breaking the law any more.     Think of an illegal immigrant as a guy who continually robs 7/11s and tries to claim the statute of limitations protects him because he committed his first robbery ten years ago.  Doesn't make sense, does it?

Spin Zone / Re: $1 Trillion Spending Bill Deal
« on: May 02, 2017, 07:26:07 AM »
Could there be a secret deal behind this to get Democrat support for a future bill?
That is the way politics USED to work, and guess what;  it worked.

I doubt it, Mcconnel is too big a pussy.  The Dems are celebrating this bill, laughing at republicans.  Trump is looking for more republicans to be elected or the nix the filibuster.  He doesn't need either, he needs to force the shutdown and take control of the narrative.  He needs to get these liberal senators primaried and get a few of them defeated.  I've always said that these wuss republicans would snap in line if they were smacked on the nose, time to smack them on the nose.

I'm mostly just buried with life, not purposely avoiding posting. I'm long-winded so I haven't been able to get real involved with conversations lately. If I had more time, I would post, since I'm typically right and most of you are typically wrong, especially that Liberal Number7.

I also just purchased my latest project (read: stupid impulse buy) - a Spanish-made 50cc sport bike in terrible condition that I will attempt to refurbish buying parts from Ebay UK.  ;D This is what it should look like:

Republicans are individuals and thus may not all have the same view on a subject.  The Democrats march in lock step with the leadership.

Musicians and comedians do it all the time. It's taken the enjoyment out of going out for some entertainment.

As far as I'm concerned comedians have destroyed their art with their constant left leaning blather. I don't watch them anymore. With a new comedy routine you can almost bet money it's going to bash Trump/Republicans/Conservatives and/or be heavily focused on feminism/racism etc. etc.  I open a new Netflix comedian and hear this crap within the first few lines and I just shut it down, I'm not listening anymore. Even the TV trailers for late night acts like Samantha Bee and Conan usually have an anti-right cut in their 30 second ad. I'm sick of it. It's driving me away from TV in general.

It's creeping into movies and miniseries, even historical ones.  Some female heroine in the supposed 1700's going around spouting feminist nonsense. You cannot have a black character without hyper focus on racism.  The whole entertainment industry (except a few independent filmmakers) cannot tell a story without it being through a 2017 leftist lens.

So where will y'all go to find that political satisfaction?  I can understand it when your choice of Party/President doesn't turn out as promised.

The President isn't disappointing me at all so far.  As for the party, I've never really been a Republican ideologically. I vote with them because in general, they are less destructive to the country than the Democrats.

Libertarian?  Maybe they don't have cookies, but do have pot!  ;)

Yes the Libertarian party probably aligns more closely with me than any of the other major parties. But lately I've not liked calling myself a libertarian.  For one thing, I disagree with the party's position on some issues, and for another, a lot of people calling themselves "libertarian" are socialist libertarians which is a contradiction in terms, and really just another version of communism.

Possibly a centrist Republican/Democrat?  That way you can criticize both sides (and take heat from both sides)??

Both sides are richly deserving of criticism.

But I don't like the term centrist.  There are two ways to be a centrist and they are completely different. Say there were only two issues.  You could be a centrist by being undecided, or apathetic, or completely compromising, on both issues. Or you could be a centrist by being extreme right on one and extreme left on the other, and taking the average would put you in the center.

My position on any one issue could be anywhere.

Congressional congresscritters really ought to be learning from what happened in the presidential election. We threw out a bunch of people in favor of donald-freaking-trump. I have no problem doinng the same in Congress.

You are very dense tonight.

ALL it takes is a few politicians with spine and the courage to tell the democrat whores to shut the fuck up and the tide will turn.

The deeply deranged democrats are causing the pendulum to swing against them. They have become a party of liars, thieves, communists, criminals and traitors to the point that more and more people are turning against them every day,
Perhaps, but the Republicans are experts at defeating themselves every chance they get. They can't get out of their own way to get anything done. The Democrats have a lot of internal party issues, not to mention their ideological issues, but it's hard to fight them when Republicans are too busy fighting themselves.

The simple formula is when 50% of the SS benefits and any other income hits a certain amount you begin paying taxes on the SS benefits and the amount can range up to 85% of it being taxed.

So basically when the government said, "We'll take your money and keep it safe for you then give it back to you when you're old," they lied.

I'm not prepared at this point to go to war with a billion Muslims.

I am. Better now than when there are 4 billion Muslims.

Yeah - 'a rising tide floats all boats'. Nice theory, but it doesn't happen in reality - under either democratic or republican rule:

If you took all the money from the top 20% and split it up evenly among the bottom 80%, in a short period of time, the graph would be back to where it is today.

You can't legislate fairness.  Some people are going to succeed.  Some people are going to get by and some people are going to fail.  That's life.

As Neil Bortz said:
Quote
The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer,
because the rich keep doing what makes them rich,
and the poor keep doing what makes them poor.

Perhaps all the "social programs" that we have for the poor de-motivates them from getting ahead and "losing their benefits".

Not exactly afraid. Were we afraid of Russia in the cold war? I don't believe we were, but we still had to treat them with kid gloves.

It wasn't Russia back then, it was the Union of Soviets Socialist Republic. (Loser socialist/communist regimes screwing everything up as they always do).    And yes, people were afraid during the cold war.  And the progressive nutjobs went bonkers when Reagan announced peace through strength, deployed the "peacekeeper" missile and announced the SDI initiative, it was a beautiful thing.  Ted Kennedy had one of his many treasonous  bizarre moments when he asked the Soviets to "unseat" Reagan for fear he would start WW3.  Of course, turns out Reagan skillfully handled the Soviets leading to the commies ceding control and the end of the cold war.

It's reminiscent of what Trump is doing now.

Spin Zone / Re: Fox's Ted Baxter FIRED - Not Fake News

I have never been an O'Reilly fan, nor a hater either.  When I did use to watch him, he would sometimes seem to have the right perspective on calling people out, both Democrats, and Republicans.  Other times he would show his hand as a classic, inside the NYC bubble Progressive, especially with the 2A, and right to legally bear arms, calling AR-15's "weapons of war", etc.  Also, I did not like him bullying guests, and talking over people all the time.

Although I know longer get Fox, I do like what I have seen of Tucker Carlson, Greg Gutfeld, and Jesse Waters.

Look at the larger picture, and this is nothing to do whether one likes O'Reilly or not.

What has happened here is the Alt Left Liberal using Media matters has successfully removed someone from broadcasting.  It was done with the liberal tried and proven sex smear technique, and assisted with Media Matters contacting advertisers and waging a campaign to get them to stop advertising.

O'Reilly won't be the last.  Next up will be Hannity, then Carlson.  You can see a few others as well.  The Alt Left is empowered now by taking down the most successful cable news show.  And to add to this, the Murdoch brothers are both liberal progressives, so the transformation of Fox is underway.

With George Soros backing them and now with a major score, look for it to intensify.
