The liberal columnist for USA Today doesn't have a problem with all liberals, just the subset she defines as the "illiberal left." As political discourse has become more coarse, she sees growing danger.
In her recent book, The Silencing, she argues some on her side want no part of fair debate and are taking an axe to free speech.

The "illiberal left," she writes, "act in direct contradiction to the fundamental liberal values of free speech, debate and dissent" and "adopt tactics they claim to discern and detest in conservatives."

The illiberal left is a loud group that mastered social media, helps steer academia and runs what I call "alt-left" websites. Those are fountainheads of victimization where you can drown in slippery, socially-engineered terms such as mansplaining, trigger warnings, microaggressions, (fill in the blank) privilege, cisgender, rape culture, and more phobias than are locked in Freud's little closet of horrors.

Kirstin Powers may be a Democrat, and liberal, but she gets it right on this one.

CDC Study: Use of Firearms for Self-Defense is ‘Important Crime Deterrent’

Gun rights advocates have long defended their right to bear arms out of a need for self-defense. And now they have a new report from the Centers for Disease Control that says they make a darn good point.

The CDC report said that most incidents involving the use of a gun do not result in a fatality

Researchers found that the majority of firearm deaths are not from homicide, but from suicide.

“Whether gun restrictions reduce firearm-related violence is an unresolved issue,” and there is no evidence “that passage of right-to-carry laws decrease or increase violence crime.” It also stated that proposed “gun turn-in programs are ineffective.”

President Barack Obama added an additional $7.917 trillion to America’s national debt, which amounts to a 68 percent increase from the $11.657 trillion debt level President George W. Bush accrued by the end of his presidency.

While there are several ways to determine a president’s contribution to the U.S. debt, the most accurate figure is achieved by combining the budget deficits from each fiscal year and adding the total amount to whatever the debt level was at when the last president left office.

For example, when President George W. Bush took office the national debt level was at $5.8 trillion. Bush added $5.849 trillion to the national debt. So when President Obama was sworn in, the national debt level was at $11.657 trillion.

We need to close entire Federal agencies, grow the economy, and dig our way out of this mess.

"You know, my general theory is that, if I was clear in my own mind about who I was, comfortable in my own skin, and had clarity about the way in which race continues to be this powerful factor in so many elements of our lives," Obama said. "But that it is not the only factor in so many aspects of our lives, that we have, by no means overcome the legacies of slavery and Jim Crow and colonialism and racism"

Well if people had read Obama's book "Dreams of my Father", they would have known all this prior to his election.  He really does hate America, as does his wife.  They have a huge chip on his shoulders.

Most likely Hillary will be our next President.  I am making plans for just such an emergency (Foghorn Leghorn voice).  What fallout will there be when Hillary is President and starts to implement her Marxist agenda such as:

Man Made Global Climate Change Tax/Fees/energy restrictions
Appointment of far left, radical Supreme Court justice to replace Scalia and others
Anti 2A Executive Orders, then court case against legally owned firearms, and legal firearm owners
Eventual banning of legal firearms
Legal firearm confiscation
Higher taxes in general
Spending on more dubious social engineering programs to right past perceived wrongs
More restrictions on police effectiveness

Will citizens protest?  Will we see pockets of resistance?  Will people just roll over and take it? 

Washington (CNN) — Pennsylvania Rep. Chaka Fattah was convicted on federal corruption charges Tuesday.

The 59-year-old Democrat, who represents West Philadelphia, was found guilty on all 23 charges he faced, which included racketeering, money laundering and fraud.

The charges stemmed from schemes to repay an illegal $1 million loan to Fattah's failed 2007 Philadelphia mayoral campaign, with the Justice Department arguing that Fattah used federal grants and nonprofit funds, routed through campaign consultants to repay the loan.

Well, well, another CORRUPT DEMOCRAT bites the dust.  He also resigned from Congress today.  Buh bye.
