Pilot Zone / Re: Anybody know anything about Imagineair?

They seem to be doing quite well.  They are headquartered at KLZU.  Did a tour at their maintenance facility last year with some of my summer camp kids.  I interviewed with them for a dispatchers slot years ago.  They had just hired some one, but did give me a call a couple of year later.  They like older experienced pilots to fly for them.

I am glad it is working out for them.  Anything that can use GA to be more useful is great IMHO.  I would imagine that some people's time is valuable enough to use their services.  I wonder what their hourly costs are including pilot wages.

You racist bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been called worse.   ;D

I wonder why the Democrats/media/left/progressives are so vehemently against voter ID, yet it is OK to require it for EVERYTHING else?

Well your post made me check into whether my DL will comply, and apparently my state is not one of the ones already in compliance.  So as a backup I decided to renew my passport.  You can renew by mail if you have a passport less than 15 years old. Mine is 14 1/2 so time to do it.

I renewed my Passport a few years ago when my company wanted to move me to St. Kitts for four to six months to do a project down there.  No, I didn't go as the project was cancelled, but I was glad I got my Passport renewed as my state also does not have the proper DL for the airlines.  People need valid ID for banking, welfare, driving, travel, etc.  There is no reason one should not have to show a valid ID to vote.

I think the bigger issue is the hypocrisy of the left. Lucifer posted several instances where someone made fun of Obama and they were demolished for it but so far there's been a lack of backlash over this. We'll see if CNN fires her from the New Year's Eve gig but I won't hold my breath.

^^^^This.  Griffin is an attention whore, but the problem is the continued far left bias of the media.

We have an out of control media feeding us Democrat propaganda.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and explore the possibility that universal income might not be such a bad thing.  Please bear with me before jumping down my throat.

Here are some random thoughts of the benefits of such an Idea

We could:
Eliminate the minimum wage.
Eliminate welfare, food stamps, WIC, section 8 housing etc.
Eliminate unemployment insurance.
Outlaw street corner begging.

Ok, flame suit is on; fire away, (or come up with your own ideas of why it might be a good thing).

Very interesting concept.  It would be interesting to see the total cost of entitlements, on all levels of government, (Fed, State, Local) then spread that over adults 18 - 65, and see what each would get.

I just don't understand why these "Masters of the Universe" don't just use their incredible wealth the way they see fit in helping people, but instead want to further degrade the standard of living of middle income America.  Don't they know anything about human nature?

This is the guy that choked a reporter the day before the election, isn't it.  And he still won.

Yes, and the mainstream media is blaming Trump for it as he has publicly reprimanded the media in the past.  Nice, huh?

The recourse to far left rags like the Washington Post, and New York Times is to not read them, so they suffer financially.  Not censorship.  However, when the mega rich like Jeff Bezos, who owns Washpo, run them, they don't care about profitability.  Bezos is content to have his little way of getting the far left, radical message out, and lose money doing it.  He has more money than G*d anyway.

Spin Zone / Universal Income?
« on: May 26, 2017, 09:37:04 AM »
First we had Universal Health Care, then calls for Universal College Tuition.  Now we have a call for Universal Income.

Quote
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has become the latest major tech figure to call for universal basic income as a solution for inequality, joining a growing chorus from Silicon Valley.

"Every generation expands its definition of equality. Now it's time for our generation to define a new social contract," Zuckerberg said during his commencement speech Thursday at Harvard University. "We should have a society that measures progress not by economic metrics like GDP but by how many of us have a role we find meaningful."

"We should explore ideas like universal basic income to give everyone a cushion to try new things," he said.

Zuckerberg told the class of 2017 that he was able to pursue his passion in Facebook because he knew he had a safety net to fall back on.

Michael Steele's response:

Quote
On Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg’s idea of a universal income, Steele said, “Why doesn’t he start with his own organization and put in a standard minimum income for all of his employees and see how that works for his shareholders.”

“It’s what you say when you want to sound like you’re with it and cool, you know, I’ve got this real progressive view on taxes and everybody owes everybody else,”  Steele continued. “You do your thing, let me do mine and we’ll work it out. The government doesn’t need to be going around setting anybody’s minimum on anything,” he concluded.

Yes, little Marky, why don't you start providing Universal Income for all your employees whether they show up for work or not?  Wouldn't that be the "fair" thing to do.  I am sure your company will then be a veritable UTOPIA, huh?

Sounds better than pretending there's a magical dude in heaven! I mean, at least Julius Caesar was actually there in front of them.

Well, when one ponders how the universe was created, possibly out of "nothing", and that we as humans may not have knowledge, nor comprehend another "set of rules", then maybe that is how you explain it.

I am not a very religious person, yet I do believe in the possibility of "God", or at least something else that I do not understand, nor which I have proof.  Too cerebral for a Friday, I know!

This is silly. What did you think I meant, that we were ruled by King Xenu?

I take being a CITIZEN over being a SUBJECT very seriously.  It is NOT silly.

We are a governed citizenry, but we are governed at our own consent, with the government's authority originating from us.

If by "governed" you mean that we have to abide by a set of laws, I would agree.  Here's the definition.

Quote
governed (past tense) · governed (past participle)

1.conduct the policy, actions, and affairs of (a state, organization, or people):

"he was incapable of governing the country" ·

synonyms: rule · preside over · reign over · control · be in charge of · command ·

control, influence, or regulate (a person, action, or course of events):

"the future of Jamaica will be governed by geography, not history"

synonyms: determine · decide · control · regulate · direct · rule · dictate ·

I am probably over reacting, but when I hear "governed", I want to go clean my AR.  :)
