Let the brokering begin!

I don't see Biden surviving the Convention.  I believe many Democrats, especially their leadership thinks the same way.

The luscombes are good airplanes.  The 8A's were 65hp and no electrics, very basic.  Some were rag wing, and some were metal wing.  For a very basic airplane, they are fine.

The 8B's had a 65 hp lycoming O145, which parts are hard to come by anymore.  The 8C's had a 75hp A-75 engine.  The 8E's had the C-85 and some had electrical.  The downside is more weight, which reduced performance.   The 8F's had the C90 and flaps, again, electrics also, but a heavier airplane.

I like Citabria and Decathlons,  I once owned a 7ECA.  All around good flying and handling.

Good info.  Yeah, I'd think I'd lean towards a Citabria or Decathlon as I have NO tail wheel time.  NONE.

No, I am upset that Trump didn't use his extensive Presidential power to fast track a serological test.  There are a ton of government labs that do this kind of stuff.  Moreover, I am upset at Trump trashing his intelligence services and State Department.  A competent President would have known about Wuhan and the virus before anyone, that's what intelligence is there for. I am honked off at him for firing his pandemic team, who could have given his government really sage advice about how to keep the damn thing away from our shores. Fauci is as good a virologist as there is, but he isn't an Epidemiologist.   I am really honked off that Trump didn't use his extensive power to close the borders once it looked like this thing was going Pandemic.  I am even more honked off that Trump continues on his path of mistruth and innuendo, and is trying to get everyone back to work so the virus that he let into the country can kill that many more people.  All he cares about is money, and if lots of people have to die to get it he doesn't care.

You guys think everything good is because of him and nothing bad is his fault.  Had this happened under Obama you'd have been demanding his impeachment.  Trump has no responsibility for anything bad.  Well, I got news.  At the end of the day the POTUS is most responsible for the safety of Americans.  Trump blew it about as hard as one could blow it.  He blew it so hard that Governors had to step in and do what was needed.  I have never in my life seen such a lack of leadership.

But you guys love him no matter what.

This would have never happened under Obama.  I mean the MEDIA/DEMOCRAT over the top panic, shutdown and purposeful ECONOMIC COLLAPSE would have never happened.  It didn't happen under Obama with H1N1 which is proving to be worse.

Great little plane, fast for the hp available.  Can be a bit twitchy on TO and landing.  It use to be said the Luscome was a great trainer to prepare for flying a Pitts.

I've heard that.  Maybe a Citabria, Champ, or similar would be better???

My first airplane was a Luscombe 8A.

Any advice should one go that route?

It was funny the stations that cut away immediately so their audience wouldn't see it.  Just goes to show the true intent of these propaganda outlets.

The MEDIA followed closely by Education, and now much of Corporate America are the primary enemy.

The MSM and governors screamed at him for not taking authority to totally close down the country.  Now they are screaming that he can't take authority to reopen the country.  Can't have it both ways, and he is playing them perfectly.  Now that they are on record for saying that THEY are in charge or reopening their states, they will take the heat for whatever happens.

Doesn't matter.  The MEDIA will blame Trump and repeat it so often many will believe it.  That's why I put the MEDIA at the top of the enemy's list, even over the Democrat politicians.  No Democrat Propaganda (MEDIA) constantly 24/7, no swell of public opinion against Trump and American interests.

In general, I guess it I because I am based at a paved, lit airport I rarely see tail draggers (conventional gear) anymore.  The FBO used to have a Piper Cub to give tail wheel instruction, but they went bankrupt and a new FBO took over with only nose wheel aircraft.  At some point, I may switch to low and slow and do as many grass fields as I can find, before they're all gone.  This would be neat.

https://pjmedia.com/trending/no-the-united-states-does-not-lead-the-world-in-coronavirus-cases-or-deaths/

I see the Media constantly harping that the U.S. leads in the number of CV deaths (that's Chinese Virus), yet no PER CAPITA numbers.  The U.S. has over 330 Million people plus who knows how many ILLEGAL ALIENS.

“I view great cities as pestilential to the morals, the health and the liberties of man. True, they nourish some of the elegant arts; but the useful ones can thrive elsewhere; and less perfection in the others, with more health, virtue and freedom, would be my choice.” — Thomas Jefferson (2010). “The Works of Thomas Jefferson: 1799-1803”, p.147, Cosimo, Inc.

“When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.” — Thomas Jefferson (2011). “Jefferson on Freedom: Wisdom, Advice, and Hints on Freedom, Democracy, and the American Way”, p.9, Skyhorse Publishing, Inc.

Jefferson was one of the wisest men in the history of our nation.

So Trump thinks its his decision to open up the states if i read that correctly... Right....
I dont think theres really anything in our federalist system that would allow that.

Can you quote the part that makes you think Trump is going to dictate to the states on what they have to do?  To me, it looks very collaborative with Governors, and others.

He added: "A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!"

President Trump said Monday he would make a decision -- "in conjunction" with governors and other officials -- on reopening the economy "shortly," as the White House forms a second coronavirus task force focused on that goal.

"For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government," Trump tweeted Monday.

"Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect. It is the decision of the President, and for many good reasons," he continued. "With that being said, the Administration and I are working closely with the Governors, and this will continue."

He added: "A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!"

The president's tweet comes as the "Opening our Country" task force is forming at the White House.

Sources told Fox News Monday that the second task force, which Trump first teased last Friday and is set to be formally introduced Tuesday, will be chaired by White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

The task force, according to sources, will also include members of President Trump’s Cabinet, including:

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Purdue, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette, Labor Secretary Gene Scalia, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, and acting director of the Office of Management and Budget Russ Vought.

The task force is also expected to include acting chair of the Council of Economic Advisors Tom Philipson and White House advisers Larry Kudlow, Peter Navarro, Chris Liddell, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

I think President Trump (not Mr. Trump or Trump as the MEDIA calls him) is on the right track.  Let's open back up with the necessary precautions.  We should have NEVER shutdown like this in the first place.

Maine's Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols has a strong message for the Governor of Maine, Janet Mills, who issued "stay-at-home" orders with threats of police punishment if not followed. Sheriff Nichols issued a statement on the Franklin County Facebook page saying in no uncertain terms he will not follow the unconstitutional order.

"We will not be setting up a Police State. PERIOD," he wrote. "The Sheriff’s Office will not purposefully go out and stop vehicles because they are on the road or stop and ask why people are out and about. To do so puts our officers at risk. This is not Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia where you are asked for your papers!"

The sheriff's announcement comes as a welcome sign to Americans who have been arrested for inane things like praying outside, surfing, or trying to drive to work. Someone has to stand up to the unconstitutional directives that are being handed down daily by government officials and it will fall on the sheriffs to uphold what they know to be their legal and lawful duties, none of which involve trampling the rights of citizens.

This guy gets it.
