I agree that a response was warranted, but now she's in an arm cast with neck and back injuries and a rugburn on her forehead from being dragged out.  Another student who showed disapproval of the cops actions was also arrested...WTF? ???  His response was over the top for using a cellphone.  He clearly failed the use of good judgment test on that one.
I recall once when I was in school where another student's entire desk got pushed out of the classroom.  Nobody was hurt, only embarrassed.

Not really.
I have to be patient.  The decision to sell my C-172S wasn't easy but now I'm thinking that it wasn't such a pain in the butt after-all.  It's just the oxygen from being at Sea Level talking.

"We didn't land on Plymouth Rock, Plymouth Rock landed on us." - attributed to Malcolm X

Malcolm X was killed by Louie Farrakahn's Nation of Islam thugs, wasn't he?

Oh, wow!  I suppose that was suppose to start a flame war, right?!  Your Kung-Fu is weak.
He wasn't killed by 3 NOI members?

I think the assassins were members, at least 2 of them.  Farrakhan wasn't in charge at the time.  Best I can describe it would be a couple folks going off the reservation, as there was an edict issued to 'leave Malcolm alone'.  As I understand also, he (Malcolm) was trying to get back into the NOI, but there were those that didn't want that and was interfering in communication between he and Mr. Elijah Muhammad.
And then there's the FBI's role, which still today remains classified.  The family of Malcolm and NOI under Farrakhan has sued to get full disclosure and have been shut down.

Lastnight, I was up past midnight on Controller looking at planes.  It's a carryover from my emotional attachment to the deal that I am reluctantly walking away from that I posted about on POA.
Someone PMd me and I gave him the seller's number.  As I type this, I think I'm going to cry....

Speaking for what is certain to be a vegetarian minority...

...I think mushrooms are a rough equivalent in our world.

No need for snarky, sarcastic comments on vegetarianism, but they seem pretty inevitable.

I used to be vegetarian and plan to go back.  I don't eat mushrooms, it's the fungus.  But I like Blu Cheese (go figure).

This is an article about the hush-money that Congressman Hastert paid to keep quiet about a past indiscretion - $3.5m.

My point in bringing this up is that I am an advocate of integrity in politics.  The man made a past mistake, fine but it's the lying and the cover-up that I can't stand ('let him among us without sin cast the first stone').
The question for discussion - who would vote for a politician with 'average Joe' money?

Absolutely! I felt it was important to keep this group together and those great conversations going. No moderators here. I think you are all grown up enough to handle yourselves! 8)

You really do not know us do you  :)
Wait I did say I was over 18.

What happens different for <18 members?

Well, my wife is complaining about ACA and the economic impact in our household.  I'm normally a big picture guy, but I have to be respectful of my own bottom line as well.
In my home, we agree that ACA is a hustle and the insurance company rejection was just a game they played to hide the fact that they were going to make an even bigger killing off ACA (pun not intended but very apropos).

I find it unbelievable that the logo  has a spinning small GA type aircraft, probably turning base to final, Way to start a forum with inflammatory
stereotypes!  >:(

Looks like the turns are to the left to me.

When you turn to the left, if you don't correct, you will crash.

Jeff- That's the dumbest joke you've made thus far, and you made a plenty  ;D

....I figure let's dispense with all this niceness and get down to bidnezz.

Spin Zone / Re: Why pilot spin has to be public
« on: October 27, 2015, 12:52:09 PM »

Well, I think its pretty clear. No use in waiting any longer. With 2/3 of the votes for privacy, I will turn it all back to private.  8)

Without compelling public content how can you expect growth beyond the initial bump you get from POA SZ closing?

Pilotspin, naturally would contain that type of content but if its not public you would have to rely on meta data which doesn't really work well these days.

A model like POA works well due to the abundance of public content, seems you are trying to put the cart before the horse.

As long as POA keeps Jason's "New Spin Zone" thread as a sticky, those looking for these types of discussions will funnel to Pilot Spin.  Winning!

One sticky thread isn't going to do it.  Sticky threads become dormant, the event at POA will become old news and then where will the viewers/new members come from?

I think we mostly all agree that we want the "Spin Zone"-type discussions to be private - not searchable by google, not subject to random trolls, etc.

But I hear you about keeping the forum moving forward. What we gain in the next two months in membership could be lost in the next two years in staleness.

Perhaps there could be a single non-private forum, called "Topics in Aviation" or something similar. That could lead to traffic, and additional people who may wish to join the SZ.

Now, here's the biggest question:  how long before Jason throws up his hands and regrets founding Pilot Spin?  Jason, you've done an AWESOME job in just four days, accomplishing so much, and accommodating nearly everyone's requests. None of us would fault you if you just want to let this ride for a while so you can get back to your day job. :) . Again, thank you!
I second the motion.  I think we should all double our dues payments this month. ;D

I love the fact that they are so ...... svelte!

I am glad to see you here!  I may agree with you 5% of the time but you add a  lot to the discussion and make me think!
Glad to have the 5% - LoL and even happier to get a few brain cells firing.....I don't seem to recall you in the SZ.  Refresh my memory, please.
