I get the biggest kick out of Trumpkins who say "Hillary is just out for herself, it's all me, me, me!  I can't vote for that, so I'm voting for TRUMP!"

It's hilarious how bad a lack of self-awareness that shows.

It's hilarious how Trump Haters can get so emotional, they lose all sense of reality and logic.

Pretty darn good actually.  The "corrupt doormat" is no more corrupt than any other politician operating not eh national scale.  She is easily the most qualified candidate to be President I've seen in my life.  The funny thing is that Trump is easily the least qualified candidate.  Couldn't even have his old lady give a speech without incident.
So her level of corruption, which has been well documented, is okay with you, because to you it doesn't exceed the general level of political corruption.

Here's an idea.  Why don't we dig up, expose and punish corruption, instead of just looking the other way and saying "Politicians will be politicians?"  They are supposed to serve us, not themselves.  It is probably anger at their general failure to do so that has led to this Trump thing.

I disagree with you about Trump, in that I can think of many others less qualified.  It is looking like he is surrounding himself with level-headed people who actually care about America.

Hillary doesn't seem to care about America, and that is probably what led to Sanders' surge; he is passionate at least.  And Trump is passionate and vigorous.  Hillary?  Meh.

You guys say it doesn't prevent someone from voting.  I do.  It prevented me.  Done deal, sorry you don't like it.  All so you can protect against an utterly imaginary threat.  You guys must believe in the Easter Bunny too.
No, it didn't. It prevented you from not being inconvenienced because of (a) your own incompetence for not knowing the rules, or (b) your obstinance for refusing to accept the rules designed to ensure a fair and free election.

Though the circumstances were different, the pathway to success is the same. Young blacks can break out of the ghetto anytime they choose but it takes hard work, perseverance and ingenuity. Why that is unfair and / or racist is beyond me, except for the fact that race pimps like Farrakhan and Sharpton make their fortunes keeping success out of the grasp of young blacks so that the race hustlers can remain wealthy.

Aaaaaaaaaand Ted Cruz commits political seppuku on live TV in front of tens of millions rather than to simply live by the pledge he among others insisted Trump commit to.

This is the character of Cruz, a man who will probably never win elective office ever again.

What a childish, selfish and ultimately self-destructive thing to do - and fully in line with the nagging suspicion I had about his character all along.

One can only hope at this point that Trump fully expected this and knew it would simultaneously improve his connection to HIS base and gave ol' Lyin' Ted enough rope - Cruz is done, what a putz and a classless way to go out.

I have to agree with you.  I was hoping for a 1976 Reagan speech.  After all, he didn't have to accept the invitation to speak, in prime time.  He could have greased the skids for his next run by being magnanimous as Reagan did after losing to Ford.  I was greatly disappointed.  And I think he did grave damage to his future.

The speechwriter is a real person, and a long time employee, who has apparently helped ghostwrite one or more of Trump's books - she has apologized and offered to resign, resignation refused by the family - her 'splanation (taking notes with Melania providing excerpts of speeches/statements) makes sense, at least to me, and her apology seems heartfelt.

I know it won't matter to hard core Dem's or NeverTrump folks but there it is.

FWIW, these kinds of spouses speeches usually sound about the same anyway - go ahead and describe the sky without using 'up above', 'blue', 'clouds', after all someone else probably already used those words you dirty no good plagiarist.....lol

People die in Benghazi and 30,000 e-mails deleted on her word they weren't important, no big deal; failed reset with Russia and chaos across the tinderbox that was the Middle East, no problem; Iran getting Nukes, who cares; evidence of criminal wrongdoing discovered by the FBI and Department of State that would put anyone else into serious hotwater but she skates; no Hillary is OK - a Nominee's wife gives a speech with some of the same words and feelings of another nominee's wife, yuuuuge issue.  Right.

I felt the same about Fox, and in most cases the guests were irrelevant. I think I'm going to watch it on C-SPAN tonight.

I'm going flying tonight.

Let's face it, White Supremacy has ruled the planet for the last 4,000 years so it's pervasive.  I acknowledge its pervasiveness but I know that we are now at the time in the history of the world where it's on it's way out.  I don't think it will be in my lifetime, but as Dr. King said, "I've seen the Mountaintop".

you should get a refund for any history courses you've taken.

A one hour job.  Tires and tubes that hard to come by in Ohio?

Sporty's is in Ohio. Overnight the tube/tire if he doesn't live in Cincinnati, then spend the hour putting it on. Don't even need the A&P. He will need some tools, a jack, a cotter pin and a bit of safety wire.

The recent polling shows that Trump has a little over 80% of the Republican base locked up, with a 5% defection rate to Hillary.  Hillary on the other hand is at under 80% with the Democrat base, and is seeing 12-15% defection to Trump.

I suspect that does not yet reflect the result of the Sandersnistas feeling a deep betrayal/disillusionment with the Bernster endorsing Hillary - even after gaining some concessions in the platform.  The current defections are most likely, I think, Dem's of principles who just can't deal with the non-stop flow of scandals Hillary has going.

Both Trump and Sanders were beneficiaries of true, groundswell movements, and while both were in part a reaction to the mismanagement of their respective party, in the Bernster's case it was also a truly political movement (a mini socialist revolution truth be told) - people who commit to a movement like that might have a hard time switching to an overstuffed bloviating pantsuit that has been running one step ahead of sure prosecution for nigh on 4 decades.

I predict that the confluence of BLM and their recent turn towards outright violence, and the surprising success and outrageous impacts of the radical agenda of the current administration, coupled with instability around the world and the threat of radical islamic terrorism and a laser focus on the corruption and scandal of the Clinton Family Crime Foundation will ultimately put Trump in the White House, but only if real voters can overcome the margin of cheating.

I really don't understand all these complaints about the Obominator, other than the fact that the only thing that could possibly come out of his mouth that would make you guys happy are "I resign".  The only thing he could do is die.

But thinking about the event, what do you guys think he should have done?  Just not shown up?  The POTUS is supposed to not show up to one of the worst tragedies in US history.  Right.
So he shows up.  Whats he supposed to do, just keep his yap shut?  He's the POTUS for Odin's sake!
So he speaks.  What's he supposed to say?  Lionize the officers, check.  Talk about the problems we've been experiencing between officers and civilians.  Check.  Talk about how we have to keep things in balance. Presidential.

Like I said, he'd have to disappear through a hole to the 8th dimension and take Joe with him before you guys would be happy.
He could have remembered that he was at a FUCKING MEMORIAL SERVICE and not on the stump for his agenda. If he shut the fuck up after the first part of his speech, it would have been fine.

He could have cut his speech by more than half, and still have made his points.

Why would he need to go to a memorial service to "make his point"?

It's a memorial service for 5 cops who were gunned down, it was not a political event.

Did obama really claim that it is easier for a teenager to buy a glock than get his hands on a book?

is obama really that stupid?

We need leadership, not f'n morons.
Yes, he did. THAT'S precisely what widows and fatherless children need to hear when their husbands and fathers are lying in caskets in front of them.

There is an element of that in critical thinking.  Is the person or entity reporting the new facts in a position to actually know what he or she is reporting?  This is important in Science, but even more so in intelligence.  I haven't said anything about the author of the study, didn't even look the dude up.  Just that the journal isn't one of which I'm familiar (which doesn't mean that much since social sciences aren't my bag.  That said, if his study was really that tight he could have published it in Science or Nature.  This kind of stuff makes it in).  Moreover, the paper in the link isn't the DC paper I read.  Because of all this it smells.

A research study confirms that professors are overwhelmingly more liberal than the national population, and growing more out of sync with each passing year.
